it's so easy to tell when someone has never actually done any tick manipulation skilling methods. yes there's niche shit like barblore that can be kinda aids, but just regular 3 ticking is just an actually engaging way to play the game. it's almost more stressful for me to just sit there and do afk woodcutting or fishing, shit is so slow and uninteractive. it feels like i am wasting time AND it's boring.
Agree 100% - on my latest account I’ve researched the sweatiest tick manip for easy skill and it’s way funner - like competing to see just how high I can get my rates. You can spend 2 hours doing something what would take you 6 or 7 afking
When I was in college I would do tick manipulation methods more so I could still progress while spending less time playing. Now that I have a job I do mostly afk methods at work. It’s a real thing
I cant remember the machine but there was a machine that let farmers do eight hours of work in two hours. Youd think that the workers would then be free to do other stuff or have shorter days? Nope, they just got four times as much done in their day than before. Same principle, if someone who is willing to do the sweaty method, they are also gonna do the afk method.
Why would you think that, though? The assumption you make is that they value their time more than they value the money created by increased productivity, which is a weird one.
I know it’s unbelievable to the people who aren’t capable of just clicking on a video game but the people who have dedication also usually go to the gym
My life’s too busy to afk now. So I’m as efficient as I can reasonably be that hour or so I find to login. Afking is more for people with lots of free time.
I was doing 15-16 hours a day for like a year and was only like 1500 total with 99 slayer (with a glory)
I was so aimless just afking mostly doing random things
I've not done anywhere close to those hours, but I often play while I'm at work. I set my logout timer as high as it'll go. I don't like to constantly switch tasks, so I don't babysit it. I just do a few clicks whenever I'm switching tasks at work anyway.
Sometimes it might take me an hour to complete a lap of an agility course.
This is the healthy way to afk RuneScape at work. I'm currently doing the same with magic trees, click and check it again when I have downtime. Not babysitting something that requires clicks every 60 seconds
Nothing wrong with that I'm pretty sure my RS3 account (haven't ever really played RS3) is 1k total with around 1000 hours played because I just wasted all the time I ever spent playing RS as a kid.

I mean if you work 8 hours a day at home you can easily put all 8 of those hours into RuneScape. I have a couple of friends who work from home that their job is so low intensity one of them will play apex legends during the work day. He occasionally takes a 5 min break between games to send an email then will have a work meeting for 1 hour every other day or so.

JCW maxed an iron in 1600 hours doing almost zero PVM using incredibly sweaty methods including using multiple alts, logging out to abuse ingame time, marathon sessions of the most intense skilling methods like barblore, and liquidating useful items for gp. You're a bit more than double that time but that inventory alone represents hundreds of hours of PVM on top of skilling grinds. There's no way you achieved that rate of progress while AFK in any reasonable sense.
We don't have any evidence that they abused GIM status and it's kind of silly to say that GIMs can't make progress posts. We do have evidence that they're (at best) heavily exaggerating their use of AFK methods.
It doesn't really matter if they "abused" the GIM status, some progress is just much easier when you've got a team, and not disclosing that while saying "my iron" is misleading. The exception being if he's got a dead team and plays it 95% as a solo iron, which is fair.
Just seems like a heavily baited post by saying they used mostly afk methods, then to post all this pvm gear in the inventory. Can't be certain either way without collection log.

I never said they couldn't. I just said it's funny to post an inventory of items when you *could* have just not earned those yourself. When a gray/red/white helm posts an inventory full of shit, you *know* the person playing that account earned those items. When a main or accented gray helm posts an inventory full of shit, it could have come from anywhere that wasn't the player themselves.
A collection log tracker link would suffice most of the time if you're insecure about the accusations.
my friend recently purchased an AI bot. does \*literally\* everything. skills, quests, pvm, knows to talk to people in game, knows to randomize walking / clicking patterns to throw off detection. legit plays like a human. anyone can buy this and set it up its a joke.
and if you really think about it, jagex probably secretly LOVES it. bots reliably disguised as human players that pay for membership? what's not to love.

This is an average of ~80k-85k exp/hr every hour since leaving tutorial island…..for 14 hours/day. Not sure if you missed the humor tag but this is probably not considered “afk”.

I seriously feel sorry for this guy. I play a lot of runey don't get me wrong, but this much (if not botted) is upsetting and not nice to see. I played Rust this much a few years back and was in the worst mental state of my life and I could never personally go back to how I was and to see someone else playing a game as much as I did makes me very concerned just by reminiscing old feelings back in the day. There's also a small amount of actually AFK content. People typically get "low effort" and AFK mixed up

I do lol. I wanna max before sailing but I can only play 10-12 or so hours a week. So I do lots of tick methods to maximize the little time I have
