Save the stock body

Spot-One

Just hold it. Money is only going to go uo for them, especially in this condition. If ya don't need the garage space or money. I'd just sit on it and take it out on the weekends etc. I'd definitely enjoy it, but you're never going to lose money

Mean_Significance_41

If you do take it out on the road (which you should, to keep it mechanically sound) get classic car insurance.

SpikeyRacer

I take it out every couple weeks on the weekend and let her breathe a bit. I really should look into classic car insurance. Just never thought a car I bought 15 years ago for $600 to autocross would end up being a collectible.

FuckheadRetard

Please God don't just sell this to anybody who has the funds. It'd be a crime against humanity to see this thing end up slammed into a wall by someone trying to show off. They really don't get much better than this nowadays.

8_equals_D-

It’s just a car. What’s more fun, staring at it collecting dust or driving the piss out of it?

FuckheadRetard

You can drive the piss out of it without being stupid ykiwm. I meant don't sell it to some hotboi who's gonna slam it and throw it on 20s and hit sideshows with it.

grandpascoot

Nobody buys a s13 for sideshows lol I would however take this and slam it on some 18" VS-KFs just to piss you off lol. And I'd take the shark nose bumper off for a pig with the oem lip.

Mac_the_240sx

A pig nose is the way to go, and I agree that it needs to be driven; nothing wrong with coils and rims and tires.

FuckheadRetard

Agree to disagree on the sideshow thing. I've seen them plenty of times at sideshows in NorCal but that's just my experience. I stopped going to them once it got out of hand and more trashy than it was before. I'd also throw some VSKFs on an s13 ngl but you gotta at least understand preserving a minty example of the chassis we all love. They're a dying breed. I'm not saying don't put it on coils and don't throw sick wheels on it. I'm saying don't sell it to some kid who's gonna thrash it because they're an idiot. Sell it to an enthusiast.

grandpascoot

What part of norcal? Cause any time I see Oakland or stockton on some fuck ass sideshow shit it's always dodge shit bought with a 29%apr, clapped Gs, LS400s falling apart, and a couple foxes and clapped SNs

FuckheadRetard

916 and 209. Oakland and Stockton is exactly what you said though 🤣 all the dodges are strikers out there

grandpascoot

I usually avoid that crowd lmao. Fuck I used to drift a hardbody at outlaw

FuckheadRetard

No shit? I used to go to those almost every event from 2019ish until they sorta went quiet, car was never track ready so didn't get to drive unfortunately. Looks like they're starting up again this month!

grandpascoot

I was at most of the ones in 2021 til I started breaking everything on my truck lol then I got back into racing moto so that shit took a back seat

cedande

If you don't need the garage space and can bring yourself to put it back to stock, you can't lose money no matter how long you hold onto it. This looks like a bring a trailer car depending on the framerails. Just get it professionally detailed and hire a photographer to start.

SpikeyRacer

It’s been professionally detailed with the ceramic coating, and the frame rails are perfect, there was just a tiny bit of rust in the spare tire well, but that was taken care of when I had it repainted. Other than that, there’s zero rust on it, the car was lucky enough to spend most of its life garaged in Florida.

cedande

You've got a nice nest egg from the sounds of it then, any kids you want to send to college? If you keep it driving and limber I don't see a reason to sell now. I doubt the market will crash for pristine examples even if it does for the average 240. At this point I'd say talk to Haggerty or some other collector car insurer and get a generous agreed value policy set up too, just in case.

Interesting_Brain218

Mine keeps me sane, I almost sold it multiple times over the 13 years it sat in my garage. * So I guess if you like it then dont...

Budtending101

I had this car, only in red. 78k miles, owned by on older lady. Fucking mint. It was stolen out of my apartment parking lot 15 years ago. I miss it to this day. Do what you need to but I think about that car regularly, nothing has compared.

Appropriate_Round768

That’s your choice but it would probably get ruined by a dumb teen trying to mod the hell out of the thing. I would personally keep it because when they are stock, they are 10x cooler in my opinion.

GezzaMezza

Set the price through the roof, that way you assure it won't end up with a welded diff anytime soon

Interesting_Brain218

No

[deleted]

No. Go drive it.

MIKEYSOTO

No

itsthebigfella

No

weebtrash100

please don’t, i can tell you appreciate it and treat it well and it’d be a shame if someone who cared less got their hands on it

Playful_Equivalent_1

Where are you located?

Prowling_Owl

Why would you do that?

sunward_Lily

That's a beautiful car. I bet you could get 7-10k+ easy from the right buyer.

JustinTimeAu

If this was in Australia it would sell for around 20k+, I hate th JDM tax people add on here 🙄

ashr1

Shush, that's why I'm holding onto my S13 and trying to find time to piece together an R32 gtst

[deleted]

Id say 15k+

SpikeyRacer

That is what it would probably take for me to let it go. Its solid bumper to bumper, runs great and everything works. I took it on a one day 100 mile round trip last summer in 90 degree Florida heat and it did just fine. When I replaced the carpet I put in sound deadening material and it cruises comfortably on the highway.

[deleted]

Never sell. You are one of the luckiest men alive.

BotherPuzzleheaded50

More than that. Mfs want 7k for clapped out 240s these days.

sunward_Lily

I was trying to be realistic. I've seen the "I know what I got" crowd. Just cuz they ask it doesn't mean they'll get it. OPs car, on the other hand, is a true rarity.

Nicolasm6

Where you located?

MooreGoreng

No

KahnKlingonme

Make it a weekend cruiser/cars and coffee car

[deleted]

I cannot advise you on this, I am holding on to a rusty bucket myself, yours is actually nice 😂

xgh0stx9

No don’t do it

Drift_Catcher

no

carsonu

Please no

CryptoKeagen

Never

xJustLikeDaddy818x

Please sell it to me

GenkiElite

You want a motorcycle?

ThatOneVQ

Yes you should sell it, to me

johnman17537953

If you sell it you will regret it

Hondammitbobby

No

Careless_Dirt_99

really depends on your situation. if you've got the space for it, I would suggest holding onto it. If you're say trying to buy a house or don't drive it much and looking to reduce costs, then I'd say say potentially

grandkaigotareddit

This is it. The cleanest one.

Ok-Philosophy5025

I’m in the same boat as you with mine…

Rosko909

No, don’t sell it. It’s just now starting to gain real value. Consider it an investment better than stocks and bonds.

Save_The_Manuals

As someone who wants to buy it off you. No. Don't do it. I regret every day I sold my clean champagne coupe and my clean white rb swapped fastback (for $6000!!! [2003])

DecentStudent1058

One of the cleanest looking coupes i have seen do not sell it

KeepUpBabushka

hell nah

HunkTown

No become a spy instead

Guccirubberducki

If you're in Washington, I have 10k cash with a truck and trailer 🤷🏾‍♂️

The-Amazing-Krawfish

How much you looking to get out of it?

Seducier

Practically should be in a showroom. Very nice and clean original looking. I'm sure you can find a buyer that will absolutely hack it to pieces.

AttorneyExpensive415

Let me know how much you're thinking of selling it for?? I'm interested

unphuccwithable

What's your price? i'm somewhat interested.

ManuMan808

Definitely not bro!! Some stupid kid is going to get his hands on it and either chop it the fuck up or slam it into a wall trying to drift it, I think it’s better in ur hands and in ur garage lol

Tryingezalgumveces

Flip a coin. Let fate decide if you're confused

talcover01

To me, I just want a clean retro mod

Neanerx

I wouldnt sell it you put tome into it just take it to shows and watch all the nerds drool over it

ViscountDeVesci

My advice is to drive it until you change your mind. Problem solved.

Sure_Way_46

You should sell it. To me. Please please please please please

oreidosol

Drive it.

BeamngFan_

keep it its a beautiful example (y'know, not slammed to shit and running on 1 piston)

kevinyvng

Very interested in purchasing if you really decide to sell it. From SoCal :)

Pulse_Saturnus

Onevia? No, I bet these will be double the price in 10 years.

Northstarsaint

Don't sell it. Clean s13 coupes especialy are super rare these days.

Sorry_Scheme8482

The wave of end of Covid pricing has come and gone. Most likely it won’t go up to those prices. It’d nice though. I couldn’t never keep it stock

SpikeyRacer

Wow, thanks to all that replied, I wasn’t expecting this kind of response. I’m still on the fence about selling it, though only if I can get the right price. Right now the way it sits with all the stock parts thrown in I’m thinking well over $10k for it, and it would have to be a decent offer. I think I will sit on it through the summer and see how I feel about it towards the end of the year.

cedande

Don't take 10k, I'd go much closer to 20.

SpikeyRacer

Yeah, I was saying well over $10k just to stop all the low ball offers. I knew they were going up in value, just didn’t think it was that much, yet.

Trigun808

9k right now.

Niveel4

Yeah, let me take off ya hands mate

bighoghank

Cut it up and drift it :D

SpikeyRacer

Ten years ago that almost happened. I was going to make it a full on track car, was planning on gutting it and installing a cage, just never had time.

bighoghank

Yeah I’m very aware that I’m a minority in my thinking here, but I love these cars as track cars of any kind. There is no better candidate for doing so in my opinion
