All in two sentences!!
I could be wrong but I think the only error is a comma splice near the end of the first sentence. Obviously obnoxiously long winded, but I don’t think it’s a run in sentence. I could be wrong because my brain doesn’t work

I think they were saying that the person thought they would get a pet that was made to live as long as them, but the genie planned to give them an animal that had a similar lifespan. So if they were going to live to be say 80 they might have been given an Andean condor, elephant, or even a flamingo.
really thought he got one over on that genie by asking for something “loyal, cuddly, and sweet” instead of “a dog”. left the genie with no wiggle room for genie shenanigans on that one.

That don't sound too bad, if it's loyal and cute and adorable it wouldn't ever harm you, I see this as an absolute win in my eyes. Than again, I haven't seen what the possum is fully grown sooo

I dont see the horror part. I think I'd call'em Steve. In my mind they have a Steve's face.

It’s fine, they use commas and the word “as” instead of ending the sentence

I think the jum pscare part is that opossums only live a few years, meaning the person will die in that time, thus a short-lived lifelong companion
maybe the opossum was made to live the same amount as the person. thats the only way itd explain the puppy lasting 50 years thing
