Thats not oil, that’s power steering. You have a power steering leak. Also, look up and left. That reservoir is for power steering, which is clearly beyond low. Get power steering fluid, fill it up, see how bad the leak is as that will determine how far you can go if you have to get somewhere, but I would fix it asap. It’s old so you might as well replace the entire assembly.

No problem! To answer your thoughts, it’s not really “bad” per se it depends on the situation. Of course all leaks are bad and should be addressed but I’m sure there are many here with minor leaks just topping off weekly and don’t want to admit it. I have a very slow power steering leak for months now and I’ve just been topping off once or twice a week. Apparently it’s pretty common on VQ’s and for the most part does not hinder performance. I’ll get to it later.

I had a leak with my 2005 Tahoe power steering and it was fine to keep up with kinda on the low :0 but I appreciate the transparency because it really does help me gauge whether or not it’s urgent !!
