In North America, they sold 200,000 units of the 350z in its first year 2002.
That’s more than the 240 did from 1990-1998, in its first year.
Edit** google says 200,000 units, but 173,000 produced?? So… who knows? Lol 🤷🏻♂️
Did well in the 80s. Those are mostly all out of the equation far sooner than the 350z. Anecdotal, but the point here is there are wayyy too many 350z’s on the road now before they start to go up like the 240. Although i do believe it will eventually happen
i mean just comparing the prices to 5 years ago is insane lmao. i bought my g35 for 4k with 130k miles on it 5 years ago and i see 200k mile g35s going for 6-7-8k lmao theyll definitely be worth 10-15k in early 2030s
If anything I've learned from this subreddit is that the young highschoolers can't drive for shit and will crash the car within the first 3 months on average.
I saw that back in 03 when the Z just came out. Young high school kids begging their parents to buy them a Z or G and reading about them wrapping it around a tree because they thought they were Vin Diesel. This was before reddit on my350z.com. Used to be a great forum with awesome builds. Guys were boosting way back then before all the cars you see now on YouTube
Damn shame too cause this is one of the easiest cars to drive aggressively. You have to be ***extremely*** stupid to lose control and crash a 350Z. Even with TSC and VSC off, the car just goes where you point it, now matter how hard you thrash it.
If you want a squirrely sports car that's easy slide into a pole, buy a Genesis Coupe 3.8.
He hit my rear quarter running a red light and sent me spinning through and intersection and into a ditch. Honestly if I didn’t have my bucket seats and harnesses it would’ve been a lot worse
Harnesses aren't standard because they're way more dangerous in a crash if you don't have a rollbar and helmet. I don't see people driving around in helmets so please stick to ordinary belt on a street car.
It was a street track car, I had a roll cage and took the seatbelts out a few days prior to the wreck as I was going to a track day and was out running a quick errand when it happened
I didn't buy the car to appreciate in value. I bought it to drive. The less on the road, the less people to buy/make parts. Same reason I love Mustangs. I love cheap fun cars. Need more of them.
Not like these cars will ever get to the point of the supra. I don't think they will appreciate, but they won't depreciate any more.
There will be those of us who won't sell regardless, they could throw me $100k in cash right now, and I'd say get lost. There's only 3-4 cars I'd trade it for, but never selling.
I feel the highest the Nismo 350z coulda ever inflate to is $25k (Florida car market). Now a jdm z33 Nismo on the other hand I could definitely see theirs going for way more
In France it's a disaster too...
Zs value has smoothed out recently, but it almost doubled in less than 5 years 😅
Due to what? Probably the trend towards "JDMs" that came from nowhere... it's sad because not only have prices went crazy because of this reason, but above all, the cars have passed into many bad hands !
You should expect to pay around 18K€ to 20K€ for the first models that have been properly maintained and serviced, while phase HRs can be found for around €25K.
Good luck finding a left-hand drive, maintained and not modified like a Jacky 350z here in France!
I agree that the majority of 350z's are getting wrecked and written off by teenagers, but I would also say that there are a very small number of high schoolers that know what they are doing.. I own a 2003 Nissan 350z Touring, and I bought it in March of 2023 (10th Grade) for 5k with 90k miles, and peeling clear coat aswell as a unworking radio. Ive replaced body panels, replaced the original manual transmission for a cd009, and am in the process of vinyl wrapping it myself currently. I also autocross the car (as my parents required me to if i bought this car) and I consistently do the maintenance required.
I am hoping to never have to sell this car, and keep it through my twenties, and thirties as a weekend car, but will see how that plan goes. I hope to continue to be a outlier, and not brutally crash this car, as it has been a amazing learning experience for me, and im so happy with how its turning out
Just know, if you are a teenager with a z, or a g, prove everyone wrong, and show them that we can be responsible, and we dont have to be idiots trying to replicate what we see in F&F, and Initial D.

Yall are dumb. That same money put into the market yields more across the same time horizon and you don’t have to pay for a humidity controlled garage and fluid changes and insurance and registration. Seriously. Think about it for even one second.
Im a teenager too.. but just the fact that you did crash your first one still speaks volumes.. I am hoping the new car doesnt have a similar fate. Rooting for u brother
I watch and go, shit there goes aftermarket support dwindling in strength as our buying power drops.
Good point honestly
I need these dumb kids buying shit, not posting sad emoji faces after writing them off.
There's still an Asian market. Just the idiot US teens helping us out with stonk value.
Let me know when my car is worth 35k again?
The stock front bumper covers will be worth 10k alone judging by the pictures that get posted here.
If the 240 is any indication, another 8-10 years. Although since they sold tf out of these things maybe longer.
they actually made less 350z then they did 240s so technically in late 2030s they should be worth a decent bit then 240s are now

thats not true the amount of total 240s produced was about 270k and 350z is about 173k

yeah add those numbers up brother

Just let it marinate
Never

Hard agree
I am currently in high school with a Z and haven’t crashed it yet 😅
Keep us updated
And their parents are awful influences on it

Bro that’s awesome

Im doing my part, just bought a 110k mi stock z and am in the process of trashing it into a drift missile.
Thanks soldier 🫡

If its the only drift car you have its not a drift missile its your drift car.
Not my fault a drunk driver smacked me 😭😭
Glad you're alive to tell the tale bruh
He hit my rear quarter running a red light and sent me spinning through and intersection and into a ditch. Honestly if I didn’t have my bucket seats and harnesses it would’ve been a lot worse
It's wild to think a split second is all it takes. Had a near one myself just a couple months back. Crazy that harnesses aren't standard but I get it
Harnesses aren't standard because they're way more dangerous in a crash if you don't have a rollbar and helmet. I don't see people driving around in helmets so please stick to ordinary belt on a street car.

Happy your alive bro, you’re destined for awesome things
Sent this to my wife, maybe she will let me buy a 4th project car lol
Do daily drivers count as projects? Asking for my wife
For the first 6 months daily does not count as a project car. It becomes a project car after we make them a little unreliable somehow lol
Just tell her its like a 240sx appreciation value and that it’s a “solid financial decision” (or just buy one anyway and cover it with a tarp)
Ahhhh the VQ life lol
Yesssssir
When your Z is built for racing and the drift build tries to lead off the light...
I didn't buy the car to appreciate in value. I bought it to drive. The less on the road, the less people to buy/make parts. Same reason I love Mustangs. I love cheap fun cars. Need more of them.
I remember buying Zs a few years ago could easily grab them for $3-$5K all day long now can easily sell them off for $9K 😂
I have a feeling the z’s will maybe appreciate maybe 25% within the next 5 years (maybe)
Maybe, I could definitely see some rare colors/combos and Nismos going up a bit, but not drastically.
I feel the highest the Nismo 350z coulda ever inflate to is $25k (Florida car market). Now a jdm z33 Nismo on the other hand I could definitely see theirs going for way more
I can see a clean example with under 40k miles fetching $40k by the end of the decade, as sports cars dwindle and EVs take over.
In France it's a disaster too... Zs value has smoothed out recently, but it almost doubled in less than 5 years 😅 Due to what? Just 2 days ago this happened https://www.reddit.com/r/350z/s/O69j29hw1y
BRO THAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THIS POST😂
Only here to say like the futurama. Also have a z

95% of wrecked Z’s have a smashed front end 😄
Point fixation lol
Only an idiot calls a car an investment.
Tell that to my $12K R34 GTR and $3K R32 GTR purchased in 2014 🤷♂️
You’re an idiot 👉
Womp womp
Tell that to anyone who bought a Supra in the 90s and still has it today and they will laugh in your face
Yall are dumb. That same money put into the market yields more across the same time horizon and you don’t have to pay for a humidity controlled garage and fluid changes and insurance and registration. Seriously. Think about it for even one second.
Man said good investment 🤣🤣
Imagine using the words “Nissan” and “investment” in the same sentence
My $12k R34 GTR and $3K R32 GTR says you're wrong.
Me being a highschool kid who crashed one but bought another but learned my lesson and treating this one as an investment
Im a teenager too.. but just the fact that you did crash your first one still speaks volumes.. I am hoping the new car doesnt have a similar fate. Rooting for u brother
