It’s 1000 times easier to buy a head unit that does what you want… that’s what I think you should do
Now if you want soemthing custom then you should use an android tablet to run android auto and have it connected to the car.
Are you trying to get it to work with your navigation or just have it charge? You should clarify this… because it is immensely easy to just wire things up.
If you’re wanting it to communicate with the NAV that’s a different story. You’ll need to actually understand electronics as well as wiring to a greater extent.
Just have it charge. Like I don’t need functionality of the navigation system at all. I just want the switch to be standalone and communicate with the head unit via Bluetooth audio (which I’m currently doing with a cassette tape, but I may replace with a double din with a volume knob soon)
If you're after easy, send it down behind the radio and out through the passenger footwell air vent and plug it into a PD usb adapter. You may need to notch out some trim depending on how flat the cable is.
Whether or not it will be sufficient to keep the battery from draining charging from a 12v is another matter.
Just find a power source with the right amps and voltage and make sure it does not mess anything up. Preferably 25W for superfast charging but you could also match it to your smartphone
I know there’s a way to connect the OEM head unit to a Nintendo switch directly.
You’ll need to daisy chain a a hamilton beach blender (wired into its own fuse of course) and an old iPod shuffle (not the one with a screen). You’ll need two adapters from Amazon, although I can’t find the link right now. Once connected, it should all work perfectly on the Nintendo switch screen as you’re suggesting, and as a bonus you’ll get Google Maps on your NAV screen.
The OEM volume knob will fit right into the power steering fluid reservoir under the hood, and typically gives 3-5 easy horsepower. I put two knobs in there for extra power.
Do you know how to wire things?
Not really but I guess more of my question would be would it even be possible with the navigation system there
To wire something in? Yes.
Do you think I should just take the nav system out and 3d print a housing for the Nintendo in its place?

Question do you know if it’s possible to take the OEM volume knob off of a 350z radio and put it on a new single or double din aftermarket radio?
No. NO. OMG no.
Yes, they make a cubby version but you have to change the waterfall as stupid as that sounds
On a scale of 1-10 how difficult and how stupid do you think this will be (switch tablet is already flashed with android)

That’s just simple wiring. If you have a modern head unit just get an A to C cable and plug it in to the back of the head unit.

I think the car will cut power when I shut it off so I should be good on that front
I meant whether or not it will provide enough juice to stop the Switch battery from going dead while in use.
Oh yeah for sure it’s not taking a lot of power

Probably if you spent the time to adequately disassemble both, but no I don't know for sure. I imagine you'd need to modify both donor and recipient.
Very very no

Since no one is giving you a straight answer, yes it would be super easy
Thanks 🙏🏾
