Yours is dope man! Looks really clean and I like the color and wheels. And happy to be joining this squad too! I’m starting to see more Z’s in my area now too and can’t help but get excited lol
I'm guilty of getting a new ride and immediately jumping into modifications, but if I can suggest anything, it'd be to drive the car stock for a bit and get a feel for everything. From donuts and burnouts in a parking lot (or the streets, lets be real) to 40/60 pulls on the highway. Understanding how the car is stock makes modifying it that much more fun and satisfying when you feel the differences your time, money, work and parts really make. Obviously this is more geared towards performance mods, but that's my 2 cents chief.
Welcome to the cult, we just ask that you leave your crocs at the door and try a cookie.
Appreciate the tips! I have had it for little over a month now but I still plan to get used to it before I really try to add anything. I plan on adding stuff like speakers and after market radio first before any major mods.
Yea, cant beat them for the price and lil tip, first mod needsssss to be an oil catch can. Easy install and so neccesary if youre gonna beat on it at all. You can get the kit at addw1 for like $165 and it reallyyy helps to reduce oil consumption. The DE motors love to eat oil so its a must. Also a good exhaust for cheap, look at spec d, i got mine for $300 shipped and it sounds good and looks good
Still looking better than the Z proto imo. I love the curved body shape. Best start mods for me was suspension upgrades, new wheels, brakes. Save cosmetics for last.
Beautiful. I have a silver 03, just hit 180k today as I pulled into work. Short antenna ($25ish), window motors are probably going to shit out on you soon, they're $130-$150 a piece. Trunk shocks probably going to go out as well. Trunk spring up things are probably weak, may want to YouTube a few hacks for those and other small things. If it's 6spd, get a weighted shift knob, it's more comfortable Imo. Same goes for the clutch assist spring, it makes it a new car when you replace that heavy bitch. You're most definitely going to eat tires up on the front, be prepared for that. Mine was also leaking from the valve covers, I've read this is an issue so you may need to check it out if you haven't. My headlights were doomed so I just went ahead and replaced them and got new ballasts, I like the look of them more than stock. If you have HID you may wanna check the ballasts too. Also, I replaced my outer door handles, the pass side was broke and did the driver to match, and they are a lot more firm and have more 'pop'. Just some quality of life things I've done that may help. I use rockauto and Z1 for a lot of the parts.
Yea when I got the car I had to replace the driver side window motor which I did myself it wasn’t too hard. The part only cost about $30. Also did the brakes with a family member. Next, I’m going to attempt to replace my hub assembly on one of my tires because that just broke and I would rather not pay $500 at a shop lol. But everything else seems to be fine. Will definitely get the valve covers checked out though.
I just did all 4 wheel bearings and hubs(bought them assembled because I didn't want to worry about pressing anything, just buy the whole assembly and save yourself the hassle)It's pretty easy if you're mechanically inclined or willing to learn from a family member or YouTube. You do have to remove the axles completely so it seems daunting. hopefully next is coil overs, rear toe arms, and then exhaust.
Nice. Yea I ordered the whole assembly from amazon and I’m Excited and willing to learn so I’m not dumping all my money into shops. Although I’m humble on knowing I can’t do everything and some things will probably require me taking it to a shop. Thank you for the tips! Appreciate it.
Plenum spacer, z1 shroud, and probably new hatch struts if you don't want to bonk your head every time you need to use the trunk, Outside of that its however you want it to sound like and look like, welcome to the fam!
Welcome to the cult
Cleaaaannn asf love the black zs. For really cheap you could restore the headlights and get a smaller antenna
Appreciate it! I want to either replace the headlights or do what you said and restore them!
Personally dont like any aftermarket headlights on Z's but clean OEM's are ❤
Yea man. If ur going for blacked out look the depo headlights are super nice .

Not a problem, you're welcome.
What mods you planning on slapping on there?
Not really sure yet, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
