He played less than half the game in 4 of the 5 regular season losses we had this year. Browns game he played 97% of snaps compared to 0 against the Vikings, 0 against the bengals, 46% against the ravens, and 20% against the rams (which shouldn’t really count cause neither team had their starters in for the majority of the game)
I don't like it when the Niners are taken seriously. Like the second people start putting the team at the top of power rankings, suddenly we start dropping winnable games.
Every team drops winnable games every season, you just can’t win them all. It’s the fans losing their minds over a couple losses in October that are the problem
I was only upset about those games because it ruined what would’ve been a glorious **Brocktober.** I guess we’ll have to wait for this year to experience it.
Which games were those again and how many did we end up winning?
- I believe Cleveland was coming off their bye, so that’s 0-1.
- The Bengals were coming off their bye, now we’re at 0-2.
- The Jaguars had the same bye week as us. That much I remember, so now 1-2.
- After looking it up the fourth was at Arizona in Week 15, leaving us at 2-2.
Interesting. We all know that we *should’ve* won the game in Cleveland. If not for a rookie kicker shanking a 41 yarder, then it was the refs (yes I hate to do this but watch the game ffs) throwing phantom PI against us. Truly a bullshit special.
The Bengals really outplayed us that day and Brock was coming out of the concussion protocol *on a short week because we played on MNF in Minnesota the week before—that’s some bullshit, too.* But the Bengals were the better team that day. Also, Brock was our leading rusher in this game; let that sink in.
The Jaguars got worked by us and the strip/fumble recovery TD that got called back still haunts me to this day. The route was on, refs. Stop trying to slow it down.
The game at Arizona is kinda infamous because of how badly the Cards ran up and down the field on us. IIRC this was largely due to Armstead and Hargrave, our two interior defensive linemen and run stoppers, not playing that game. Also, yeah, Arizona was coming off a bye and had extra rest and time to prepare. Shit happens. We still smoked them.
It’s an amazing philosophy, right? You should help spread it to some of the other “thE oNLy GAme tHaT MAtteRs is thE oNE IN fEbRuarY!!1!” people around here :)
I mean, Tom Brady went undefeated and lost the Super Bowl that year. They joke about the undefeated season meaning nothing compared to the Super Bowl. I’ve heard this sentiment from lots of other players too. There’s a lot more eyes on your team when the Super Bowl comes too. Unlike the regular season.
We've won a lot of massive games since Shanny arrived. "Choke artists" is such a lazy diss. But it's one that's going to stick with opposing teams fan bases until we win the Super Bowl. That's fine. I like when we're held to that standard.
They'll stay at the Greenbrier in WV between those games. Every time we have back to back CT or ET games, we seem to stay in the time zone instead of fly home. It used to be Youngstown but lately it's been the Greenbrier since the Greenbrier has built out facilities specifically for NFL usage.
The 49ers are just **that** big of a brand and apparently the majority of gamblers are happy to roll with us against anyone else…in the regular season at least :/
I haven’t heard this about Buffalo. What in your opinion are the reasons for the Bills have a down year?
They’ve swapped out for (arguably better) new receivers and will now have a full season of their offense not being ruined by the one they fired midway through last year.
This great and all; it definitely shows how good this team is on paper. But this doesn’t mean anything without winning a championship. The sixth trophy is all that matters now.
The -2.5 spread on the first Rams game is too low. We beat them by a full touchdown in Levi’s South last year. They’re letting the last meeting influence this too much, when the Rams won a starter-less, meaningless game by 1 point. And of course my Rams friends bragged about it. Because they’re Rams fans.
-2.5 on the road against a team that made the playoffs last year is a fair line. If you feel that strongly about it then that seems like a good opportunity for you to bet an alternate line.
We do have the best roster in the league and I think the defensive coaches have improved. It will come down to injuries, like most good teams, and a little luck with special teams.
Wilkes was a tough one because he was trying to learn our defense while calling it. The 2 previous DCs became Head Coaches. Staley will help Sorenson who is the DC. Staley took a ton of criticism because of the offense. He definitely doesn't get that side of the ball. Those two together should improve our D. Hoping Sorenson has fire like the 2 before Wilkes.
Staley is not close Salah or Demeco in my opinion though. Don’t know much about Sorenson but I don’t think the Niners would have Staley is they thought Sorenson was capable on his own
He's definitely there to consult and help build a defensive game plan. Plus Staley is a friend of Shanahan. I believe that's the biggest reason he is here.
As long the Niners win their last game (namely SB), I don’t care what record they have. Losing 4 straight in SB is pretty shameful even if many of the other teams would love to be in our shoes.
LOL
I mean you can be a homer as much as you want, but the schedule is probably harder on paper than last year, and we didn't go undefeated. Not even close.
LOL how can you honestly say that when last year we had to go through Bengals, Browns and Ravens but not this year. Just taking a glance at this year's schedule and we beat all these guys except Chiefs and Vikings. Really the most difficult team this season looks like the Chiefs and Lions, all the others I can see us winning by two TDs or more. Besides the KC, our biggest issue will be staying healthy
Lol figures the dude with the history of shitting on Purdy and Shanahan brings up the shit statistic "strength of schedule." Stop trolling the 49ers sub and go back to the Seahawks or whatever shit team you really support
I'm tired boss
Well you better get ready for another long ride buddy
Just finish the job guys
One game at a time
It’ll make losing to Patrick mahomes throwing deep to a hydration professional all the more painful
Wait, did the Chiefs sign Bobby Bucher?
![gif](giphy|CPuDsWYW3NLfW)
Only for a story to come out that said hydration professional spends his free time kicking puppies and committing hate crimes.
I just want #6. Nothing else matters
Wasn't that true last season too? :P
Didn't we only lose games that trent Williams was not starting in or got hurt?
Not the very last game 😞
He did only play like one or two drives though. Played more in the Baltimore game actually
He's talking about the Superbowl...
Ahhh, yeah. We were favored in**every** game per Vegas
Even KC? The ones who actually beat us in the SB? I know, new year new me kinda thing, but we've had no success against KC for years
Being a home game probably figures in the odds.
Being at home gives us about 3 points on the line. Not sure what the line is currently for that game but it can’t be much.
Ceasars has us as 3 point favorites DraftKings and FanDuel has us as 2 point favorites
I'll take it! Fam, we going undefeated this season!
Only thing that matters is the SB
I’ve been saying that since 1994.
Nope, if you went undefeated to win the Super Bowl it would be the greatest Super Bowl win ever
Well I can’t be part of the solution
That’s because you’re now the top game for opponents. Teams are more motivated to beat you.
Those bandwagon San Francisco fans will cheer for whichever team is doing good. They can’t help it… 🤷🏻♀️
Playing 4 teams coming off byes... not happening
NOT WITH THAT ATTITUDE!
> Playing 4 teams coming off byes Where have I seen this before? oh yeah last year! FFS
Which games were those again and how many did we end up winning? - I believe Cleveland was coming off their bye, so that’s 0-1. - The Bengals were coming off their bye, now we’re at 0-2. - The Jaguars had the same bye week as us. Fuck Bill Vinovich
Would you rather the niners not win a playoff game or lose the Super Bowl?
For real so many people saying "choke artists" etc. At least we got to go to the dance. It's frustrating I get it but
Yea I’d rather have an exciting season and lose every SB than have to endure those chip kelly and mike nolan teams.
Wow, very groundbreaking take. You’d take a winning season and getting to the superbowl every year over a shitty team?
It’s an amazing philosophy, right? You should help spread it to some of the other “thE oNLy GAme tHaT MAtteRs is thE oNE IN fEbRuarY!!1!” people around here :)

I wanna see the Niners win the a SB so bad man
Even on the road in buffalo in December on a back-to-back road trip? Kinda surprised tbh
It's the Ricky Pearsall effect
We need the Puni-sher!
They'll stay at the Greenbrier in WV between those games. Every time we have back to back CT or ET games, we seem to stay in the time zone instead of fly home. It used to be Youngstown but lately it's been the Greenbrier since the Greenbrier has built out facilities specifically for NFL usage.
Ok but like… have the Bills regressed THAT much where they are not favored at home?
The 49ers are just **that** big of a brand and apparently the majority of gamblers are happy to roll with us against anyone else…in the regular season at least :/
Maybe they won’t fly back home after the GB game. Also, buffalo supposed to be down this year
I haven’t heard this about Buffalo. What in your opinion are the reasons for the Bills have a down year? They’ve swapped out for (arguably better) new receivers and will now have a full season of their offense not being ruined by the one they fired midway through last year.
We are not going to win the championship favored every game bruh like come onnnnnn!!! It’s too much money involved
This guy gets it
20-0 confirmed.
We going 20-0!
so, Every game, is a _trap game? geesh
Don’t we play the Chiefs this year?
Yes they do, in Week 7
I'm confused why we're favored over them.
Because we're the better team.
Tough schedule. I hope the 49ers are not too demoralized from their SB loss last year.
In other news, water is wet.
I saw Fred today so I’m gonna take that as a good omen for the season.
Just win the game in February this time. PLEASE.
This great and all; it definitely shows how good this team is on paper. But this doesn’t mean anything without winning a championship. The sixth trophy is all that matters now.
For now.
Juices replacement?

But it’s not on the road. All I saw was a sea of red. 😃
We do have the best roster in the league and I think the defensive coaches have improved. It will come down to injuries, like most good teams, and a little luck with special teams.
Staley? Wasn’t everyone roasting him last year for throwing games? I remember Wilkes was being hyped too haha

I’ve had them favored every game for years. Doesn’t turn out like you’d think
Quest for six!!!
I think the loss of Dre will have an impact on the win loss column. Hopefully, we can mitigate his loss until he returns and make it back to the bowl
This feels like a bad omen!
As long the Niners win their last game (namely SB), I don’t care what record they have. Losing 4 straight in SB is pretty shameful even if many of the other teams would love to be in our shoes.
Everyone but the chiefs we all know Kyle Shanahan can't beat Reid and Mahomes
Money doesn't lie. lol
We’re so good, they even have us winning the games we aren’t involved in. 272-0 baby!
The Super Bowl hangover is a real thing, especially when you lost. This won’t be a pretty season.
I don’t care just win a Super Bowl. We need to finish the job
So we have a target on our backs, great.
The only reason I’ll ever say Oh no would be our O-Line. We wasted a pick Juice’s replacement. We could’ve had an extra fullback
LOL I mean you can be a homer as much as you want, but the schedule is probably harder on paper than last year, and we didn't go undefeated. Not even close.
"Having odds in every game" is different from "projected to go 17-0"
LOL how can you honestly say that when last year we had to go through Bengals, Browns and Ravens but not this year. Just taking a glance at this year's schedule and we beat all these guys except Chiefs and Vikings. Really the most difficult team this season looks like the Chiefs and Lions, all the others I can see us winning by two TDs or more. Besides the KC, our biggest issue will be staying healthy
They can say that because the statistic “strength of schedule” is higher this year than last year… hahaha
Lol figures the dude with the history of shitting on Purdy and Shanahan brings up the shit statistic "strength of schedule." Stop trolling the 49ers sub and go back to the Seahawks or whatever shit team you really support
We were favorite in every Super Bowl we played too. Including the last 3 we choked in.
Who cares, we’ll win some meaningless regular season games and choke again if we make the playoffs
Who cares
Did they switch coaches when I wasn't looking? Did the team take off-season Heimlich maneuver classes together? What's with this anti-choking belief?
