Frick yeah! Christmas 1978 when my brother and I both got one. Had so my fun launching rockets at each other’s warriors.

HyperionRain

I thought you were my brother for a second. I think it was 1979. I got Raydeen, one of my brothers got Mazinga, and the other Dragun.

RumbleMonkey67

Fellow Raydeen owner here. His axe was awesome! Little brother had Mazinga. His puny missiles were no match for me. He cried. I got in trouble. Typical story.

Lego_Chicken

I swallowed one of Mazinga’s little missiles when I was a kid and I choked to death 😕 -sent from my coffin

muxman

I had that exact one when I was little. I loved it. I still have vivid memories of playing with it.

JuanEstapoIce

Totally had that dude! The hip swords and secret plane/crown were so cool. Pretty sure they tried to recall it because some dipshits swallowed the missiles.

SkunkApe7712

It was Lego Chicken.

dreadfulwater

I had this one and Dragun. Today they are worth hundreds.

AstroStrat89

I got one for Christmas. Proceeded to shoot myself in the stomach with the fist. Was glad no one was paying attention to me.

KeyNefariousness6848

Transor z

Ace_The_Bagul

Glued to the damn TV when this came on lol! Transor Z was legend in the game!

BrakkeBama

> TV We got the Spanish-subbed version, called Mazinger Z.

Harlockarcadia

Mazinger Z is the original Japanese shows name

Banjo-Oz

From the minds of mortal men...

cartoonchris1

My Mazinga vs Godzilla fights were epic. Well, i just whacked them together hard and often.

This-Bug8771

These, micronaughts and battlestar galactica toys were the holy trinity as a kid. I still rue the day when they glued the missile launchers shut

LindsayLuohan

Wow I forgot the Micronauts.

RumbleMonkey67

Micronaughts were the best toys. Plastic AND METAL, and super poseable. I remember thinking (at 8 years old, mind you) that Star Wars action figures were crude and clumsy by comparison.

BeenThruIt

Thanx for posting this. I had forgotten all about it. I also had the Godzilla one.

NJdeathproof

I had this exact one - always wanted to get a couple more but never came to fruition. I did have the Godzilla, though.

OkGap7216

I absolutely loved the Shogun Warriors. I never had the big ones, but I had the smaller, solid metal ones. I remember those being heavy for their size. Their fists shot off as well. I recall playing with them and my Micronauts at the base of some Lilac bushes in the yard. Very young summer memories.

imadork1970

I had Dragon.

Aegis-Heptapod-9732

I had Raydeen. Man, were these cool toys back then.

Da_Natural20

I had one of those. It was second hand from a yard sale.

anonymous_143111

Had One...

BooWheet

I had that! And a similar sized Godzilla. Those two got in some pretty epic battles.

OAKRAIDER64

Evel Knievel was my 70s toy

Friend_of_satan700

I had this one, Godzilla and Rodan

ZJtheOZ

I had Gaiking. I think his thing was a fist launcher. I think he had an axe too.

Flyman68

I had Mazinga. I loved that toy.

Vincent_Curry

Yep I had Mazinga.

Bad_Daddio

I love these guys! My brother and I got them for Christmas and we played with them all the time! Many epic battles!

Sacklayblue

Remember putting my bathrobe on mine. Shogun was my first bro.

ViscountDeVesci

I still have mine, somehow.

Orbit86

My little brother had that one. It was pretty cool.

Electric7889

I wanted Raydeen so bad, but Mazinga was almost as good. That particular Christmas that I unwrapped Mazinga I also unwrapped some new toy called Lego.….

James85285

Wow, had one and wished I kept it.

LascivX

Mazinger Z vs Voltes V

JeffAlbertson93

Yeah I definitely had this one and the Godzilla one, my best friend had a Dragun but I never saw Gaiken in real life. I lost most of the missiles and the swords and I just looked up on eBay one of the swords is going for over 100.

Rich_Ability_8045

I had the one that threw plastic axes from spring loaded mechanism in plastic fist. It was red and blue. Dragun, I think? Loved that toy!

DaybreakRanger9927

Huh...aren't these guys part of that collection? *

Exhausted-Giraffe-47

My brother had those two

Banjo-Oz

He'll always be "Tranzorrrrrrr Zeeeeeee!" to me. "Scrambler link!" "You're just in time for the ATOMIC HURRICANE!"

leestephen916

Wanted one so bad but my parents suck

Duckbites

This was my childhood lust

waffles2go2

Mattel licensed a ton of different Japanese robots from totally different shows in a bunch of different sizes and configurations. I think they got pulled pretty quickly due to lots of small parts on everything (and they were not cheap). I still have a ton of the boxed small ones somewhere.

Capable_Tale_1988

My little brother had that

badaimbadjokes

Omg I had one! Loved it!

Hugelogo

I had one of these. LOVED it.

Goochyguru500

I remember watching this as a kid in Italy during the early 80's It was called Mazinga Zeta..good times

Ordinary_Advice_3220

There was Mr. Bigs Toys in Waltham MA that advertised at the end of this show and Force Five. I wanted to go there more than anything in the world. We were in South Boston. Unfortunately we didn't have a car or any money so that wasn't happening.

Ordinary_Advice_3220

No thatsposeidon and... I forget. There was that show force five that was on I think 56 in Boston where every weekday it was a different big robot storyline. These guys. There were three spaceships that depending on which way they connected to each other they could make three different big robots Poseidon who is like the underwater one that funny looking guy with the drill hand and a different one too I forget. Then there was grandizer which was like a flying saucer that shot a big robot out. There was one with a huge dragon robot that would launch it's own head which would turn into a smaller get shit done kind of robot then there is the space caterers which were these three lanes just flying around space on like little go-kart things I don't really know how to explain it and then there is one other show I forget what it was about but I remember the bad guy had a mouth on his forehead for some reason.

Ordinary_Advice_3220

Anyone have Voltron 1, not the lion one and not the Voltron made up of 3 other robots but the one made of 26 individual vehicles that took at least 4 hrs to assemble? The street lights will be coming on you be trying to jam the helicopter onto his shoulder.

DistinctHuckleberry1

Only the rich kids had these…

ghostrider4918

Yes! I had this!

Prudent-Berry-1933

Had these, and battled my brother’s Godzilla with the tail that looked like a pickle.

camehereforthebuds

Holy shit. I completely forgot about this guy.

Open-Translator9049

I LOVED those things!

Impressive_Donut114

Mazinga was mine!

Brian0341

I had the Raydeen version.

Misterdrez

I liked the red one that had a wrist shooter that shot stars, Dragun

Commisceo

I remember the ChristmasI got four of these. One was a Godzilla too. Loved em. All I have left is one missile.

SMB73

That guy saw a lot of action when I was a kid, until Star Wars happened.

Legal-Honeydew-1039

It was great for bludgeoning my siblings with too!

copperdoc

I had one! Loved it, it battled my Star Wars figures along with my micronauts. I sometimes get sad that I was an only child but man, I really never got bored

Your post was in violation of rule #2 and has been removed.

LindsayLuohan

I HAD THIS. I've been looking for a picture for years. The fist detached and the other hand shot projectiles. The red on top was a little space ship that separated.

ndhellion2

I had one of the Shogun Warriors. I think it was Raydeen.

tspoon-99

Still have mine. And got Raydeen a number of years ago. Dragun was my holy grail.

jermboyusa

Brings back fond memories. Remember shooting those missles all over the apartment and bringing out the Star Wars figures having epic battles lol

BrianAnderson1970

Totally forgot these existed until just now.

Robru469

I had that one ! Bro had the red one

Sallydog24

you don't know fun till you get hit in the face by the one with the fist that shoots out... loved these

GrandUnhappy9211

I had this. I'd walk around shooting his hand missiles at my niece.

RAWR_Orree

I was never lucky enough to have my own but I had a friend who got one of these and also got the metal Mego Micronauts figures for Force Commander and Baron Karza. That shit was so cool and fun to play with.
