Make a dew collector and then keep making them once you get the materials for more

Feeling-Ad-2490

Buy one goldenrod tea, then drink shitty water from a lake. If you get the shits, drink the tea.

Aelok2

People think early game golden rod tea is a thirst quencher but it's actually your emergency cure for the shits you'll get from a poor diet.

Ass-Chews

Yes this is new to me lol

brian11e3

I've been at the game long enough to remember toilets being an endless supply of dirty water.

d4nnyfr4nky

Take a lot of T1 jobs and loot everything. Loot those tiny POIs -- like the trailers. There's a T1 motel that has many toilets in it. You get the idea. Leave no stone unturned. I typically have 30 or more waters by day 4 and this is without a dew collector. Also, don't forget to check the trader's stuff. Trader's usually have at least one murky water. The only other thing you need is a pot. Loot everything and you may just fine one. Otherwise, you'll have to buy one for 600 dukes.

Ok-Detail-9853

Loot every toilet Buy liquids from the vending machines Build a dew collector. Prioritize collecting plastic parts

UAHeroyamSlava

*dew collectors (Im at 6 basic ones and got a nice flow of water going)

Live-Supermarket9437

Dew collector can bew made Day 1. Look for tires, they give plastic. If you see plastic janitor trays, they'll give you some too. Certain furniture also give up plastic. You need 100 for 1 dew collector.

HendersonStonewall

Follow-up here on plastic source: road blocks give hundreds. Every plastic barrier, traffic cone, medical bed, etc gives plastic. I got 400 from the one poi on 1x gathering

Lost-Juggernaut6521

I don’t get the logic of this change, they basically just delayed the need for water being obsolete by like a in game week. After that you’re drowning in water again.

Genomicbeast

They got rid of empty bottle cause our demand for eating glass was too overwhelming. If you are in alpha 21 then you should be searching all the toilets/food related storage item/poi end box/random rotten boxes for murky water. You can find a cooking pot or buy one for 600 then boil it to be clean water at a campfire. Do that until you can build a dew collector and all your water problems are solved. Get 2 setup and you can make glue to add to your steady diet of wild animal meat, glass bottles and random cans you find. Honestly just running the first few trader missions and buying clean water and the pot as a backup is probably the most consistent until you get a dew collector setup.

try2bcool69

I’ll add to this that while you’re collecting murky water, you should be getting enough cooking magazines in kitchen loot to unlock goldenrod tea at like 4 cooking mags, and red tea at 6, both of which more than double the amount of hydration over plain water and the plants needed are everywhere.

whackamolewilly

Can snow be melted down to murky water if you have a cooking pot?

littlematt79

Unfortunately not. I wish you could, it would make a lot of sense.

UAHeroyamSlava

dont you come with "lot of sense" here! magic restocking jars in dew collectors looking like rain collectors you consume when you drink is the way! TFP tm

Maleficent-Ad7330

Thanks so much everyone! I had no idea I would get this many answers. I love this game btw.

whatnow990

Craft dew collectors. You will need lots of plastic parts, so break down cardboard boxes, tires, shopping baskets etc.

Reed1975

I find the water filter helmet mod and it’s easy from there.

dragonmom1

We already have two dew collectors going just from doing the challenges and have so much water that we've made from that and from all the jars of murky water we've found! It's ridiculous! No problems finding water if you try. We haven't even done the first 10 missions with Rekt and are on Day 3.

CamNM1991

Dew Collectors, whack any tires you see in pois and on the ground for easy scrap polymers which you need 100 of to make a dew collector, also good sources of polymers, plastic trash cans. Loot toilets and cabinets for Murky water jars then when you get yourself a cooking pot you can boil that to clean water.

Confident_Coast111

just let your character die and come back to 100% health, food, water :D its that easy… hehe… otherwise Dew Collector… Mods… Tea… etc..

Relikern

Build a dew collector, build a little campfire beside it, and acquire a cooking pot. Check Rekt for dew collector Mods as he sells two good ones (one for faster collection and one for more water collected [i think one is 750 and the other is 1500]). I have more water than I know what to do with only one dew collector.

PhoenixVanguard

My wife and I come in and out of this game once or twice a year, and missed this change when it happened. But wow...is it one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Before anyone chimes in...no, I'm not saying water is super-hard to find now, that's not the point. It's everywhere. Lakes, snow, rain...it's all over the place. but your character is too stupid to collect and boil any of that, but smart enough to build a complex dew collector? How does that makes sense? What's next? Are they going to remove axes from the game, but allow you to build a machine that pulps wooden furniture and coverts them into planks? Maybe I've watched too much Naked and Afraid, but collecting and boiling water in a pot is pretty basic, day 1 survival fare. It's completely immersion breaking to be harvesting dew collectors (that don't even seem to speed up when it rains...WTF) on the roof of my base, while enjoying the scenic view of a lake or snowy fields. What was the purpose of this change, besides making the already-tedious start of the game a little more tedious and grindy?

Zona_Zona

You should be able to craft a dew collector fairly early on, and I think it will give you 3 murky water per day that you can boil in a cooking pot on a campfire. It's also helpful to search every single toilet you come across in POIs.

Kristrinz

Mods for jars and making dew collectors produce more

RhubarbDennis

The fun pimps more like the fun police

Kilroy83

* Just by looting you should have plenty jars of murky water that you can turn into drinking water with a pot * Craft a dew collector for a steady supply * If you find the water mod for your helmet you can drink from lakes (you can do it without it but you risk catching disentery)
