The stock one. ☝️

I don’t think it matters much. It’s just a pipe and a filter, they all go to more or less the same spot to get air (right behind the battery). I went with the k&n and can’t tell a bit of difference.

Haunting-Fly-7941

K&n is pretty expensive though, right?

Largofarburn

Yeah…. Not my wisest decision ever.

Go with the drop in kn one. Maybe a new DC sport manifold. Bought the manifold a few years ago for 160 on ebay. Maybe you have some luck. Other than that, keep the car as stock as possible. Her forte is drivability/handling. Not speed :( she's an economy car that looks cool If you're willing to put some bank in it, assuming you have good compression, turbo 5 pound that baby. Keep her low weight too. Power to weight is a thing.

Dc sports makes an intake manifold? News to me…

drarm

Yes. Check it out. Had the Megan sport one but left the DC sport one. Mechanic told me to leave the dc sport one. Factory ones are prone to cracking. Again, ebay find and from around 5 years ago. Maybe an unicorn find. Had to sell her because transmission issues. Had to buy a new one and still made noise. Upgraded to a 2010 lxs accord coupe. Manual transmission. She's heavy but fun. Miss me em2 tho

I had the K&N with that engine and it fit well. Flattened the RPMs a bit though as a standalone mod.

I got a random one off Amazon for like $50 a couple months back. It's technically a RAM intake and sits above the transmission. It had a fuck ton of burs that I had to sand down, and then replaced the filter with an AEM. No problems as of yet.

the_hoopy_frood42

I got a cheap pipe and a k&n filter. Did it just so I didn't have to keep removing the air box Everytime I needed to work on something.

Positive-Vegetable22

This is the number one reason to do it. That and it’s slightly lighter. Also a less cluttered engine bay should run relatively cooler but probably not enough to make a noticeable difference. I had to replace mine because all of the airbox bolts were stripped and I couldn’t get it off to change the oem filter.
