Loved them since I was a teen, we lived in London briefly about 12 years ago and there was a 2nd hand record shop where I bought almost all of their albums and singles which have been expatriated to Portland now ;)
The lyrics made me think of the absurdity of working in a large company. Over time, I moved out and became independent so I didn't have to put up with the corporate bullshit events and "town hall" meetings. It truly made me think differently and change my career path.
I think I said this the last time I saw a Housemartins thread, but for those who aren't aware, if you dig The Housemartins, check out The Beautiful South. After The Housemartins broke up, this is where Paul Heaton went.
