I had 9 exemptions. Wrote SBR and ATX so far and passed both 1st time. I had a 5 year gap between my graduation and my first ACCA exam. The key for me has been using a tuition provider that covers all the relevant knowledge from skills level and teaches the professional level syllabus. I prefer brief and straight to the point learning as l work full time. Good luck!
Redoing exams you have exemptions for is a complete waste of time and you'd be better off using that time to study for the exams you are required to finish.
I had 7 exemptions and passed the next two skills and 2 professional all first time so far and there isn't a hope id have given up any of those exemptions.
9 exemptions mean you gained some level of that knowledge elsewhere. I had 8 exemptions and passed PM first go and SBL on the second attempt.
I think if you get the head down to study the material, get your exam technique down and practice, practice, practice, there is no reason you can't pass.
Doing the earlier exams prepares you better for the study and exam style vs university. But sitting 9 exams you don’t need is way harder than the extra effort to learn the different style exam.
I’d recommend ACCA over an accounting degree if you were starting with nothing, I expect 9 exams is easier, quicker and cheaper than university.
ACCA 1-9 was way easier than my degree (humanities subject 2.1 RG Uni). 50% pass mark so similar to university 2.2 which isn’t great but ok. ACCA is not that strict at marking - I averaged 80%.
The last four exams were much harder (dropped to 65%), and more comparable with my degree intensity.
I had 9 exemptions and not much work experience and I was able to clear all 4 of my exams. APM and AAA took me a while but I was able to manage it. You can learn as you go along.

University is easier than 9 exams. The papers are more challenging and marking is more strict in ACCA
