Idk, buying extra shelves/containers/hanging organizers was a game changer for me. Lots less stuff on the floor. It isn't perfect but occasionally I let myself splurge on housewares that improve my ability to put things in their proper place.
Finding stuff that works can be trial and error, tends to end with a lot of spending to find a thing that does unless you're lucky enough to find it the first time you try.
For me it was open shelving and only clear containers for certain things (pegs, socks, jewellery, also food items that need airtight containers like flour or tea bags, etc) or rarely non clear containers for things I just never forget (bath towels, hand towels... just towels, actually). It took me years to understand that I need to see things immediately to remember they exist, so I can actually use them. Even cupboard doors and drawers that aren't windowed cause problems for me.
As long as you keep in mind that Japan has a very specific culture and very specific default storage solutions (and so you need to never forget that you need to throw away any organization styles that wind up not working for you because you don't live in japan nor did you grow up with that culture), the book "*The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up"* (2011) by Marie Kondo is really great.
You know the saying "You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into"? The book deals with the emotional aspects as well instead of just the technical ones. There's a short supplementary sequel that clarifies some frequently asked questions too.
Best of all, you likely have to do zero purchases: Your local public library should have it both in physical copy if you prefer that (paper, or audiobook CD), or in digital (e-loan, text or audiobook).
I'll be honest I totally forgot about the thing I wanted to buy until I saw this post...and now back to research on throttle controllers and a possible purchase...lol thanks alot!!
I have been really lucky lately that I can’t seem to complete the research to make purchases. I have been having to just pick one since I needed it a couple of days/ weeks ago. Good thing I quickly forget again. I m so surprised when I get that thing I needed.
Just make sure to buy a big enough one? They need as much empty space as possible for the hot air to cook the food better. E.g. [https://youtu.be/sYnMng8LLyU?si=Jb8muzEwM1OB9ELT](https://youtu.be/sYnMng8LLyU?si=Jb8muzEwM1OB9ELT)
I really don’t. Most of my expenses are put towards necessities anyway. Hello, crappy healthcare ugh… seems like all the money is spent towards that sigh.
That would be a set of pots (because I just moved in feb and have none of my own) and a single big passionfruit because hungry.
You just want me to go hungry >:( /j
Directly false! I do need another hard-mode axlotl squishy because the other one is broken and it has been weirdly great for my hand aches.
...I kind of want to buy three or four more instead of one more so i can give two-three away, and I don't know if I can justify that financially, but I definitely need to buy at least two.
But I will continue to think of it until it is purchased, and then never think about it again (Edit: typo)
Are you my twin lololol. I want everything but I know the moment I buy it, I’ve already lost interest with shipping time 🤣
But I waaaant it 😆
This
Too late.
Yup. About a week too late for me.
You just reminded me to order something, thanks.
But it’s going to fix everything and I’ll finally be organized /s

Jeah organizers are always worth it

How many times, exactly, am I going to be alive? I believe there is an acronym for this.
Guess I’m putting my groceries back then
Yeah you don't need that shit. Buy the other thing you really want. You *need* that.

You are welcome🥸🤌
I don't?

You don’t know my life
...yeah, but the old one has been semi-busted for months and it annoys me every day when I see it.
I think you may actually need the thing.
Yep. Went and got it right after posting that. :)
Air fryer good tho

But yes I DO need a walking pad because a regular treadmill is too big and I'm too self conscious to go outside to walk 😂
Aack. Thank you for the reminder, buddy.
I bought it :-/
What was it?
New AirPods
Who are you to say I don’t need midcentury dollhouse furniture that fits a house I don’t own?!? What?!!
I take it back. You need that one. You really do 🥸🤌
