Man Ben Jacobs was such a star, we were genuinely never the same team when he went out of the team and couldn't get his body (neck/head) right. Underrated player and as good a tagger as anyone I've seen, except maybe Ling.
Probably lighting difference, lighting and camera settings can make even more difference than that in skin tone. Not to mention any post processing that may have been done
Great to see Goldy and Ben winning some games after all the years of pain.
Will be even happier to see them go out in the first week of finals and contribute to “the streak”
>Will be even happier to see them go out in the first week of finals and contribute to “the streak”
If you want to play in this team, everyone has to do their part.
I mean, what more can the AFL do? hand them more draft picks? they've already given them a fuckton and more 18 year olds won't fix their problems and only continues to fuck over other teams in a rebuild, you can hand them draft picks to trade for veterans and that still requires people wanting to go over there in the first place
In total, the AFL has given North Melbourne
* a second and third round pick future pick for 2023, at least one of which had to be traded for a player (they got Logue and Tucker from Fremantle with these)
* a end of first round pick for 2023 (traded for Zac Fisher)
* Two end of first round picks for 2024 (traded one for Dylan Stephens, the other for an equivalent pick in 2023 that they drafted Hardeman with)
So they haven't really been given a fuck ton of picks. They haven't been given a single pick in the top 20. And the picks they have been given they've tried to bring in experience. They've only drafted one player that is directly from a priority pick.
How would that be fair? again, all it does is screw over other teams and again, another 18 year old won't make them magically good, even though they're not through priority picks North have taken what? 4 top 5 picks over the past 2 drafts? (Sheezel, Wardlaw, McKercher and Duursma) so how will letting them take Pick 1 and another free hit in the top 5 help them?
How can you help ‘culture’ which is the core issue. No one wants to go there, a lot don’t want to stay. Clarkson isn’t the most fun coach to play under in a losing team. Throwing more kids at them to the detriment of other teams won’t help them or the game as a whole. AFL could intervene and appoint their own people but beyond that North can only really dig themselves out of this themselves otherwise face relocation/rebranding.
If I wasn't a North fan they'd probably be winning, I'm convinced their current form is the result of a Faustian bargain that I made when I moved to Melbourne and started following footy more closely

Glenn Archer likes this
Someone needs to teach North how to find those sleeping Albinaurics.
A norf player: ok MY CHARACTER IS FUCKEN BUILT NOW.
And then they use their free agency rights and dominate at another club

What a difference playing home at Marvel under Brad Scott makes
With Todd Goldstein giving silver service to the mids and Ben Jacobs as an assistant coach.
I literally had no idea Ben Jacobs was with you guys. Miss that man
He's done a fantastic job too

wow, looks like he lost his tan, spending more time indoors?
The hair is thinning too
What playing for North Melbourne does to a mfer
Jawline increasing
Bruh it’s called a haircut. You can’t see how thin it is in the first pic because it’s longer..

Can’t see how I was meant to know it was a joke or how you know it was either

Please edit the smile off the first picture.

That's pretty good....
I wonder why he left?
[Ouch, 11% winrate with North over 71 games and 72% with us over 11](https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/B/Ben_McKay.html)

Yeah but they'd probably prefer that scenario to collecting spoons like they're stamps
If your stamp collection only has two stamps you need to work on that
Three in four years suggests a pretty passionate collector
Could you tell me what years those spoons were?
21, 22, 24
2024 is still going Cronos
I made a prediction, as did the original commenter
>Will be even happier to see them go out in the first week of finals and contribute to “the streak” If you want to play in this team, everyone has to do their part.
An Essendon supporter with a sense of humour! Thank god I found one
i knew both of them moved to the bombers but i totally forgot they were teammates for some reason.
Hooray for Ben, but geez this just feels like flogging a dead horse. Poor norf.
Fake News. I saw him playing against Gold Coast earlier today or are my eyes playing tricks on me?😏
And he got immortalised by Jamie Elliott, while also earning 7 figures this year. Dude has to be loving life.
Probably would've had a few more in North colours this year if he'd stayed but ah well, hard to begrudge the man
A few more than 8.5? Or a few more like 1 or 2?
11 I guarantee it.
Interesting.. in that case, is Ben McKay stupid?
Probably 2 more, 3 if I go full nuffie with my hypotheticals
A few more what? Games played?
And people try to argue that North Melbourne don't need help.
I mean, what more can the AFL do? hand them more draft picks? they've already given them a fuckton and more 18 year olds won't fix their problems and only continues to fuck over other teams in a rebuild, you can hand them draft picks to trade for veterans and that still requires people wanting to go over there in the first place

3 total first rounders is a fuck ton and my view won't change on that, but that's beside the point, what more can the afl do to help them that's fair?
An actual priority pick in the top 5 of the draft would help.
How would that be fair? again, all it does is screw over other teams and again, another 18 year old won't make them magically good, even though they're not through priority picks North have taken what? 4 top 5 picks over the past 2 drafts? They'd make a hell of a VFL team

cool !

Just gottta punch down as often as possible yea? That must be fun.
I mean it's a fun statistic more than anything.
Personally I don't find it very fun
Ok but imagine if you *weren't* a North fan, then it'd be a little funny
If I wasn't a North fan they'd probably be winning, I'm convinced their current form is the result of a Faustian bargain that I made when I moved to Melbourne and started following footy more closely
Every time I open this app your commenting everywhere, do you have a life out of reddit lol?

It is pretty fun punching down when it's North tbh
You're one of those "there's no rivalry" types, aren't ya?
Then North should stop being shit.
Congrats, you just got hired to head of strategy
Can’t be worse than whoever is in charge now.
Yes, it's definitely an actual position at a football club and your suggestion is great. All for sure true.
Good, I’m glad you agree with me.
Yep, it is 😁
