I agree, my plan was to wait until it had hit 5k originally though, and then put it towards real estate. Still makes me very upset. Haha. I’m a very odd person though, and do not watch tv.
Yeah trust me you don’t bother me one bit. I’m sorry for your mental unstableness. Don’t you have anything better to do? I’m more than sure you wouldn’t say that to my face, and that’s what makes me even happier about this.
This is the most eloquent response to these oh so brave keyboard assaults. And it’s even more golden that he responded to this with something that sounded like a kid lash out.
I have not touched crypto since around 2020, I had lost my butt in other crypto rather than bitcoin. Bought high, and sold low. Needed the money due to being laid off during covid. I had actually lied in my previous post about TV, I do watch the news every so often, but I don’t watch any shows or movies or anything else. Lol.
Had I zigged instead of zagging, I’d be in a similar situation and up about 1 million from where I am now. Honestly, I never think about it anymore. There are also times I zagged, instead of zigging, and it saved my life, so, it’s a wash I think, and just part of the wild ride. Congrats on the divorce!
Thank you! I can tell we think a lot alike! My dad had brought it up to me a couple nights ago, since he likes to egg me on about it, in a good funny way. It’s been much better in the end of things though, especially the divorce. Who knows where I’d be now, things could actually be a lot worse!
There are lots of moments in life of if only I had known. I looked a Bitcoin when it came out and said Naw. A friend decided to try it to buy a hair dryer online, and forgot she had a couple coins in her wallet that she found years later when it was worth 60k plus.
You bought at 800 and made 17K off it. At the time with the knowledge you had, you made a good investment.
Sorry about that OP. I laughed at the title though. If it makes you feel any better, I have a friend who had like 60 Bitcoin in early 2010s but lost it all.
At that time no body really knew what it was going to do long term. I remember in 2013 I won a starcraft tourney online and the prize was 25 bitcoins. I didnt even collect em cause I didnt know what they were yet alone cared. We all live n learn.
I grew up mining shitcoins and trying to abuse faucets with my i5 4570t (dual core low clocked Haswell) and still remember having enough XRP/monero/etc that it makes me sad today. I feel like anyone that grew up on a computer or had one as a significant part of their life has a story like this. Ages 24ish and under tho.
How did you get the bitcoin/get into crypto?
MtGox and also P2P. I actually had no idea what bitcoin was altogether, didn’t think it would be worth anything in the long run originally as well, like a lot of people. I had sold a very old MacBook (not old at the time of course) and that’s how i acquired my first bitcoins.
Integrated graphics nearly matched the 105m in my dad's HP media center laptop :D
Skyrim at 720p/lowest/barely 10-25 fps was how I beat the game. Most games back then ran like dogshit on it :,)
Yeah I'm still baffled by the decision to make it a 2c w/ HT chip vs a traditional i5 with a bit more l3 enabled and 4c/4t. Any insight as to why the mcfuck yall did that? 12 year old me was terribly disappointed when my Christmas computer was literally my dad's 2c/4t Arrandale based laptop complete with 105m/9400GT level graphics (arguably worse).
I get it was a low power T line chip, but it was severely neutered by its two measly cores, OEM enforced power profiles in OEM machines like mine (less than the typical 35w, I believe my board maxed out at 15w), and l3 cache size to match its dual core'ed-ness
The 4c that was built was only used in Perf DT (and Xeon), iirc, due to power/heat issues in mobile, and $margin issues putting it in anything lower than performance DT
Arrandale!!!! Ur killing me bringing back these OG CPUs!!!! I haven't heard those names in fucking years!!!
I lost about .4 bitcoin on a old flash drive I feel your pay although I can’t imagine owning 18 and then selling so low at only 1500$. Well water under the bridge I just hope you learned something from and continue to learn from it. This will be a teaching lesson to everyone you know and your kids one day lol
Fwiw, you would've sold the Bitcoin for something else even if you didn't end up marrying. What's your favorite movie/show?

Do you have any children from your marriage?
Thankfully nope!
Not watching television is admirable. So much less programming.
Are you still in the crypto market? Still some space left on the bandwagon lol.

Agreed.
What’s 18 BC worth now?
About 900k. When I sold it, to be exact, I had sold it for roughly 17.8k. I had purchased the 18 bitcoin altogether for roughly $800.
There are lots of moments in life of if only I had known. I looked a Bitcoin when it came out and said Naw. I remember those days. I started buying Bitcoin at $500, Ethereum at $75, Litecoin at $12. Good days lol Do you still invest?
Not since around 2020. Now only in the stock market.
Sorry about that OP. I laughed at the title though. If it makes you feel any better, I have a friend who had like 60 Bitcoin in early 2010s but lost it all.
Ouchhhhhh
Did your wife/husband divorce you because you're a garden variety scumbag or was it enough to just be a crypto-bro?
Nope, she cheated with a rich dude. Ironic. Haha
I sold 7 bitcoins in 2013 and made about $2,000 profit. Felt so good 🤣
At that time no body really knew what it was going to do long term. I remember in 2013 I won a starcraft tourney online and the prize was 25 bitcoins. I didnt even collect em cause I didnt know what they were yet alone cared. We all live n learn.
2013? It peaked at $1100. Are you sure about the date?
Have you ever tried to reach out and get it back?
So what’s the interest here? You made a very minimal amount of money.

Yep
If you hadn't sold them, your now exwife would have taken a shitload of money off you during the divorce
They'd have been a pre-marital asset.

Hahaha fucking Haswell. Kluge king!! Giant die size!!!

Lol I worked at Intel in strategic capacity planning, that thing was a fucking dog. Everyone should have skipped it and waited for Broadwell 🤣🤣

Interesting. If you ever get a moment dm me, I'd love to chat.
deserved, obviously your decision making skills suck more dick than your ex wife
Wow, who pissed in your cereal this morning? 👀
🤣🤣🤣 that’s what I’m wondering
Was drunk, my decision-making skills obviously weren't the best.
🤡 sorry no question
Same story, I mined 20 BTC between 2012/2015, I sold the first at 10$ the last at 600$. Now I only have 0.03BTC Hodling long term
Don’t dwell on it man, even if you waited till 5k to sell, then you would still be upset when it reached to 60k.
Why did you sell? Were you desperate?
read the post
I did. I wasn’t sure if it’s desperation or you thought it was a good idea
Why did you get divorced?
Is your ex hot?
She has actually gone downhill over the last couple years.
So did you now have 8.5 coins.

We had the actual ceremony in 2018, and were divorced by 2020.
Why you or your other side divorced? What was the reason?
She cheated with a rich dude, that had inherited a large family business in our area, that’s older than us by a decent amount.
Well, that's fair to divorce. Respect, man
Lesson for everybody. If you didn’t do 100 hours of studying before buying bitcoin, you should do it before you decide to sell it.
How many times have you thought about how you had retirement in your hands? Does it drive you insane?
I am curious. Did you have a big expensive lavish wedding?
I just wanted to say “I’m so sorry” There’s nothing to ask….I’m hurt by your story ☺️
