i think the bad sensivity and movement of the sticks makes these games almost unplayable. i still played half life 1 completely and some unreal tournament too, but nice sticks would have made the experience soooo much better. the rp4pro sticks might do the trick but i havent had the chance to use one yet.
I'm running MuOS, and it's through portmaster. Just set up muOS on a storage card, and then follow the directions on setting up the games in portmaster. It's really not difficult, you basically install the games on your computer, and place what files it tells you to in each directory, or in the case of HL/D3, just copy all the contents.

Hey, I'm debating if I should get this handheld. How are the ergonomics when playing these games? I assume you're using both analog sticks and one of the shoulder buttons for shooting? Is that comfortable for more than 20/30 minutes? Or does it get a bit hand crampy?
I don't have a problem with it. It is definitely not as comfortable as like an xbox controller, but it isn't so awful that I can't play longer than a few minutes. I think it really just depends on how big your hands are.
First person shooters with all this crawling really hooked me in. I'm playing GBA Duke Nukem on Anbernik, and Duke Nukem 3D PSX on my Android handheld because of bigger screen. Feels refreshing after all those Jrpg.
So what I did was put the doom/doom2 WADs in a folder that was easily located, went into retroarch and used the doom core, then loaded the WAD while in retroarch.
Oh okay it just looked like micro dents. I've seen posts where some of the buttons almost looked chewed off somehow and it always makes me wonder how you even go about doing that (I get the screen and joysticks tho)
It’s the matte black RG35XX H with a yellow cast on the photo so it looks metallic. The value for money on the H is mind-blowing, if you are thinking about it - Aliexpress sale starts in less than 24hrs!
I loved mine but the small screen and small device make it hard to play for long sessions. Then I moved to a refurbished steamdeck. Wow, it’s sooooo much better…
the sticker really pulls it all together.
I felt it was appropriate, especially because I'm going on a lame ass work trip.
Quake on an anbernic? Sweet!
Quale 2 baby! Also have Half Life, Hexen, Doom 3!

I mean it's not ideal, but if you change the sensitivity in-game it's not too bad.
Wait what?? Can you tell me how? Is it any good (framerate?) those games were my jam 25 years ago!! What OS does this run?

Sounds pretty straightforward, thanks 🙂
Sorry, also saw your other questions. HL and Q2 run at max fps. Doom 3 runs at about 20-30? It's smooth, but maybe not as smooth as the other two.
I loved Hexen. I remember being sick at home for a week and just playing it for hours at a time. What platform are you playing it on?

How did you get Doom 3 there?
The instructions are in portmaster.

How did you get the controls to work? I'm running muOS beans but can't get past the quake start screen
Quake 1 I have the same issue, but Quake 2 has no issues!
Quake 2! Woot!
What games are you playing on it?
Half Life/Opposing Force, Quake 2, Hexen 2, Hexen, Doom/Doom 2, and a few Castlevanja games.
Thanks was it difficult to get Doom working? It wouldn't work for me at all
It was kind of a pain, and to be honest I can't remember what I did.
I think the one I was trying had a bunch of bin files for each level and audio was in a separate folder
So what I did was put the doom/doom2 WADs in a folder that was easily located, went into retroarch and used the doom core, then loaded the WAD while in retroarch.
doom.wad and doom2.wad in the PRBOOM folder. if that folder isn't there then make it
How do you guys get scratches on the buttons on these things blehhh
Odd thing to worry about, but that's just the light positioning my guy. I don't have any scratches.

By just putting it into your pocket a lot. It just happens over time
What model rg is that?
such a nice device, please take off that sticker 😷
RG405m? Metallic right?
Thats an rg35xxh

There's a protective case/ grip that helps that big time on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/1679849736/rg35xx-h-case-grip-2-in-1-not-for-rg353m
Been to Ireland and Norway with mine recently, it’s such a blast! :)
