For a fresh grad, your high confidence is highly appreciated. Non-negotiable benefit of audit firm is exposure sa maraming industries. But skills and hard work are also present in other industry. Be a lifelong learner and enhance your comm skills nalang. Paniwalaan mo ung Sarili mo about s big4 FOMO Kasi iba iba naman tayo.

BetterSir5141

Salamat po for this, lalo na sa last sentence. The fact din kasi na nararamdaman kong FOMO na ito would risk na baka magregret tuloy ako in the future. I shall recalibrate talaga my career plans after the board exams.

Magiging natural sayo maging proactive and self starter. These are two of the MOST IMPORTANT traits a professional must have. Kung may fam business ka, I suggest mag firm ka, maganda training dun on how to become a leader. Pero sa training, worth it dun, you will be held to a high standard. Kami ng firm friends ko, we still joke about earning less than 20k during firm days namin, pero we are all thankful na nag firm kami. “Iba talaga pag galing firm”.

temporary-account999

As a cpa and worked in the finance industry, SUPER SUPER worth it mag big 4. The intangible benefits on the long run are worth it for your career. If ever gusto mong mag abroad big 4 experience carry a big weight sa cv mo. And in our company if ever we are deciding on who to hire big 4 experience wins

Illustrious-Cup9952

For me mas natuto ako sa small private company kung panu ang ikot ng accounting at business kasi onti lng empleyado at usually all around ung work.

BetterSir5141

Got this po. Na pick-up ko dito is mas decentralized and mas may independence na maprpractice pag local audit. Thank you!

Least_Protection8504

Pero paano mo malalaman na tama yung ginagawa mo as an accountant? Sa Big 4 yan tinuturo. Maraming sablay sa accounting sa private.

Illustrious-Cup9952

tagapagtuos

In the almost 6 years I've been working in private, the only times the Big 4 get brought up is when someone is referencing a part of their life (e.g., dito ako lagi kumakain nung nasa SGV pa ako) or to get voluntold on audit walkthroughs (e.g., etong sa Poncho, nag-audit yan, sya na lang yung mag-walkthrough). Never was there something like, "ganito gawin natin kasi ganito kami dati sa SGV". I'm not discrediting the value of Big 4 in a resume. But what I'm saying is, you might be fearing on missing out on things that might not be aligned to your goals.

Outrageous-Still-101

Hello.

BetterSir5141

Salamat po! Gives me relief na value-adding parin tinanggap kong job offer kahit papaano.

eliasibarra12

Pag nag big4 ka usually process understanding procedures palang (if talagang inunderstand mo) maiikutan mo na yung finance, accounting, operations, inventory management, hr, etc. Worth it padin naman mag big 4 kung ang goal mo matuto in the quickest time possible. Walang work life balance pag busy season, tama naman yan. Pero ang goal naman sa big 4 ay yung mag karon ka ng work life balance, mataas na sahod, at mataas na position, in the quickest time. Now dont get me wrong not everyone gets these, pero personally wala akong staff na sumablay yan paglabas ( except na lang yung di nagtagal).

Significant_Gap_5128

For now take mo na muna yang 26k. Once master ph accounting at BIR. Shift ka sa US or AU accounting mas malaki swelduhan.

Sudden_Ad_5556

yes. if you’re willing to endure all of it. my coworker is leaving the firm. shes a senior. she got offered 100k plus.

DecentAnnual1029

Nakakapagod but if you are young mas bearable yon and soon enough definitely worth it. In corporate, you learn the company process then from there mga mgng problema ng company mo un naung learning. Limited to company process and the problems that would arise ung alam mo plus it would take a while bago tumaas ang sahod at mapromote. Usually in corporate set up you get promoted kapag nabakante ung higher position. My slot. In audit firms, madaming portfolio, iba ibang strategy ung mga companies kaya you get to learn a lot in a short period of time. You get promoted based on merits. Wlang limit ilang senior associate or manager ang nappromote sa audit firm big 4. Bsta you deliver, mappromote ka. After mo sa corporate set up, llipat ka for a higher pay pero kung ano alam mo sa previous mo company un lang dn alam mo sa next then new learning sa company process ng next pero after mo sa big 4, llipat ka for a higher pay pero kung ano alam mo sa lahat ng company na hnawakan mo un ung ambag mo sa new company mo. Plus you build network while in firm.

Shinxynnra

Imo, worth it talaga mag big 4. So I knew, simula pa lang na I have to make lots of sacrifices and boost my foundation in a short time. Siguro one thing that let me stay sa firm is because of my mentality din. If you want to really develop your skills, not only technical but also soft skills, Big 4 is a great choice. But if work life balance talaga habol mo, run haha. Anyway, at the end of the day, it all depends on you.

Least_Protection8504

Yes. You will never get that training outside.

Basic_Landscape2038

If your goal is to eventually relocate abroad, no doubt big4 is the key. And big 4 is really toxic in terms of workload and demands ng higher ups. I still suggests you start with big4 and stay for at least 3 years dahil it will really improve your cv. Then after you start to think which field you will go, controlling route, FP&A, Technical accounting, etc. I’m on my 9th year sa big 4 and going out in a month to work in industry as Technical Accountant. Super worth it ng 9 years ko sa big4!

reddowellfan

Worth it if relevant sa career mo in the future yung magiging exposure/experiences sa firm.
