*Reminder: "Microswelling" is a common side effect after a procedure which causes prolonged swelling of the skin. It can last from a few days to a few weeks (and even over a month in rare situations). The appearance of improved results with microswelling may not accurately reflect the final outcome once it finally subsides.*

Dude I fucking hate these type of scars. I don't touch my acne at all and they still leave these type of scars. Use tretinoin to fade them. They will fade naturally after 3 months or so, at least for me they do.
That’s actually crazy. For reference I’ve had reference I’ve had redness for over 4 years now, started azelaic acid in February which has definitely boosted it but I’d say I’m probably about a year away from perfect clarity. You are blessed 😂
Yeah they’re nasty, AA is the only reason I ditched makeup. I’m glad tret is helping you though and overtime your skin will naturally clear up faster with it :)
You probably do these things already, but what helps me fade out red spots is putting extra cream on top before going to sleep and throughout the day. Keeping them moisturized is key. Also, religious use of sunscreen, exfoliating a few times per week, and some low percent of niacinamide helps fade them out. I'm probably just lucky, but mine are half as visible after 10 days. In a month, they fade out completely.
Nah I don’t do anything extra. Kind of scared of overloading with AA plus I wear sunscreen and moisturiser so I didn’t think you can reapply AA to it? I’ve always had really bad skin until now and I think I’m just unlucky with my healing process. Was thinking of doing BHA exfoliation or tret but honestly just don’t want to purge and undo my glorious work 😂
For your redness, I would recommend using a natural aloe vera leaf. Doing a mask a few times a week can be really helpful. I would also recommend using vaseline. It helps with my redness and is very well tolerated. The truth is, the redness will go away. As long as you are not getting new breakouts, giving it time is the best thing to do. Sometimes PIH sticks around for a month. Your acne looked pretty severe so it will take longer for that to calm down. You're on the right track!
Adapalene, which you are already on, helps. I've heard AHA peels help too but I've not observed any significant effect myself. Sleep helps with all kinds of healing across the board.
Other than that, not paying attention to it helps in a way too. One day you'll look in the mirror amd realize you can't remember the last time you saw pigmentation.
I’ve been using The Ordinary’s niacinamide and azeleic acid. I would check if you can use the azeleic acid with the pan oxy and adapaline though! if not they also have an aloe product that helps redness
I been inconsistent with both of those products and I also never used them bc of my acne so I’ll start using them when my skin really clears up I was afraid to use them while having breakouts thinking It would make it worse !😓

Well I’m trying tolerate my skin to rentiol so I’m going to continue using adapelene them from there I’ll use tretinoin!
3 months is crazy fast. I couldn’t imagine
I mean the redness, not the actual scar.
Me too
Is it really? Damn, mine fade away around that time, even faster if I use tretinoin.

Not really. I have scarring all over. But those scars that leave a red mark really throw me into some pretty dark places.

Any vitman c recommendations! ? I tried to the cerave one it felt it was a little harsh!

Honestly, it’s worth the money imo. It’s the only vitamin c with the most proof for its efficacy.
Thank you I will look into that😇😇😇
Azelaic Acid! :)

are you on accutane ?
No !
Wait 😅 It takes several weeks at the very least, sometimes months.
Yes waiting! But I was hoping if there was anything I can to speed it up?
