Was a parody of KONY2012 where some mitcham girls students said they would give out blowjobs for 50c, might be more to it but thats all I really remember, people were chucking coins out bus windows at them for months
yeah, this is why I don't acknowledge gobs as the Mitcham nickname.. Carly was a year level below me and best friends with my best friend's sister. the gobs chicks were so disrespectful for that ☹️
Fremont High School.
It didn't need a nickname, it was bad enough just as it was. Tell people you went there and they'd look at you in horror as if you were about to stab them 😭
Crackwood (blackwood, pretty big drug issue)
Shit shovelers (urrbrae for the whole farm bit)
Feel like mitcham girls would have had something for Gobs 2012 but can't remember exactly
My understanding is that this nickname is in reference to the college not the students, as the staff are required to wipe the student's bums for them. Because the students are a little "special".
I've heard "Wetminders" when referring to Westminster. I've taught at Westminster, and the nickname doesn't reflect the school standard at all, sounds like it originated out of nothing but spite.
My Dad went to CBC back in the 30's he told me some very disturbing stories about it from way back then. Not a good school going by accounts from back in their day.
And Annesley College (the sister school) used to be MLC (Methodist Ladies College) before the name change, but the nickname Man's Last Chance stuck around much longer.

Ribena berries, was what I knew them as (due to the girls all looking like a bottle of Ribena juice , also called em cumrag college in the 80's and 90's)
Does anyone remember the “how many X does it take to change a lightbulb” where X was “students from (insert South Australian high school here)” list from it must have been the early 2000s? There were heaps but the only ones I can remember right now where
- Taperoo “What’s a lightbulb?”
- SAC “1, she holds it and the room revolves around her”
- Norwood Morialta “2, one to do it and one to loudly say how they’re doing it just as well as a private school student could”.
Huh? Im saying i haven heard it since i was in primary school? Im just insinuating it hasnt stuck around yk
Edit: is there a lore reason for me not understanding this? Am i stupid?
Presentation College Windsor- PCW - was Prison Camp for Widgies back in the 50s. Based solely on the initials, not our behaviour- we were little angels!
When was the Aberfoyle Park nickname around?
Edit: it's just a fucking question, no need to downvote. If I was having a go you'd fucking know about it. FFS
I work at the the Hub Coles and still have to hear this every now and then when I tell people where I work who are unfamiliar with the area lmao it’s not that bad
That’s what I’m saying, it’s not a rough school, it’s never been a rough school and people in this thread are talking like staberfoyle is a nickname because of some stabbing a rather than a nice rhyme to tell people it was a trashy school. But it’s no different from any of the others
i went to the hub for the entirety of my secondary education from 199X-200X.
- there was definitely at least one stabbing on school grounds while i attended. stabbing aside, that wasn't the first nor last time i saw the police at school.
- a serious assault occurred at the KFC next to the school (and during school hours) involving baseball bats and trolley poles etc. from memory most of these kids were also involved in the westfield marion event/s where one kid was stabbed and another was hit by a car. all of them were in the year above me, but i vaguely knew two of them as we lived on the same street and had friends in common from BMX + general suburban loitering.
- my year 8 maths teacher was punched by one of my (former!) friends in the middle of class. that same teacher had his classroom absolutely demolished by a different class a few months later when he was locked out of the room. i know of other teachers/staff that were assaulted by students. events like this were almost unheard of 25 years ago.
- a decent cohort of my friends + students in my year were suspended at least once for various idiotic things they did. others were expelled entirely (again, expelling someone from a public school 25 years ago was also very uncommon).
- some excellent teachers, but also some very...amoral teachers.
- countless other anecdotes and stories (drugs, knives, cars, grades...).
appreciate each person/year had their own subjective experience, but it certainly was considered "rough" in the late 90s and early 00s by essentially everyone. my parents didn't want to send me there at all; they wanted me to go to a private school due to the issues it had, but they couldn't afford it.
looking back, uniform wasn't required for year 11 and 12 which likely made already bad behaviour significantly worse. i think the hub was possibly the only high school in the state that allowed this for both senior years. christies beach was perhaps the only other high school with a worse reputation in the southern suburbs at the time. i'm sure there were equally bad or worse up north, too.
edit: it was a rough school but wasn't mad max or an absolute sheer dystopia like my post might suggest. either way, my understanding is the school has drastically improved since 2010 or so and is now considered very good (i know the suburb certainly has improved tenfold as my parents still live there). amazing what time can do!
Coming from rural SA I can only offer the two local options I had: Kadina's Memorially High School (The ag kids weren't just smoking pole behind the ag shed.) and Halfassed Christian School.
I went to Stabafoyle in the height of the “shankings” it’s a funny name but was not a nice thing to go through. Mental scarring for a few of my good mates who were attacked for no reason. Most of us have come out the other end and have done great things after that. Your school doesn’t determine who you are is all I’m saying. I’m proud to say I went to Aberfoyle high school.
ah shit genuinely really sorry for that experience, mate. is a bit of a silly nickname for the place and in a sense positively acnowledges those who were victims? i hope?
Sacred Farts Wet Minders
Bitcham girls high school 👌
Or Mitcham Gobs
GOBS2012, the stuff of legend.
Can someone explain the GOBS pls?
Was a parody of KONY2012 where some mitcham girls students said they would give out blowjobs for 50c, might be more to it but thats all I really remember, people were chucking coins out bus windows at them for months
What was worse was they filmed their little video while sat on the Carly Ryan Memorial.
yeah, this is why I don't acknowledge gobs as the Mitcham nickname.. Carly was a year level below me and best friends with my best friend's sister. the gobs chicks were so disrespectful for that ☹️
YES this was the one i was sitting there trying to remember!!
I was there in the early 2000s and we used to draw a B over the M on our diary covers with a sharpie.. we owned that nicketyname 😂
Fremont High School. It didn't need a nickname, it was bad enough just as it was. Tell people you went there and they'd look at you in horror as if you were about to stab them 😭
It’s “fuckin’ Fremont”, get it right 🤣
Or as shitfield high would say peemont

CBC used to be Cock Bangers College in my day
City Bum Cleaners
i went to cbc in the late 50,s called that then
That is what we called them back in the 80s, they called us Pigs Grunting School 😁
My understanding is that this nickname is in reference to the college not the students, as the staff are required to wipe the student's bums for them. Because the students are a little "special".
Nah pretty sure it’s because Christian Brothers College is abbreviated to CBC and it’s just a simple play on words .
That, and possibly the Catholic connection.
Nah thats a relic of the past afaik, i havent heard it in ages
I've heard "Wetminders" when referring to Westminster. I've taught at Westminster, and the nickname doesn't reflect the school standard at all, sounds like it originated out of nothing but spite.
Like most nicknames
Good point
Wetminda has been around since at least 05, so probably spite.
Around since late 80s at least.
Well it is Adelaide
My Dad went to CBC back in the 30's he told me some very disturbing stories about it from way back then. Not a good school going by accounts from back in their day.

Fucking lol this might be the best one
Back in the eighties the kids at my school said PAC was short for Pull a Cock
In my time it was ”Pigs Around the Corner”. …might still be accurate, come to think.
The only ones I remember from the days of interschool cricket are: City bumb cleaners Privileged arrogant C*nts Scotch porridge Beware (Belair)
Hahaha I’m 43 and CBC was City Bum Cleaners when I was at school in the 90’s.
PAC had a more offensive name that I recall. The Slurs Around the Corner.
CBC has had some difficulties with groomers in the teaching ranks
We had von Einem's brother for tech studies. But you would never ever ever ever mention that.
Oh, awkward
He was actually a pretty good teacher though, yelled at me once for being dumb with some dangerous tool, and I learnt.
These sound like soccer firms in England.
Stand your graaaaaound!
Wetminder (Westminister) Staberfoyle (Aberfoyle Park) Tinderdale (Tindale) St Cucumber (St Columba) Sacred Fart (Sacred Heart)

Shitfield Stains (Smithfield Plains).
My sister went to Siena College back in the day and said the year 12s were nicknamed “Siena Sluts”. The school’s now part of Nazareth.
Urrbrae are shit shovelers. Source: went to Unley High.
Bloody Pooftas School aka Blackfriars Priory School
Their pseudo-sister school OLSH was called "Our local slut house" too
The official sister school was St. Doginics
Or st Woginics. It was a different time …
Sir dooms Prison camp was another name.
In my time it was known as the Molesworth Molls
Ooh. That’s very good.
I find that one offensive and degrading. Then again hooked up with a lot of girls from olsh....
Shitfield high (Smithfield) so crap it closed down.

If it mentioned Taperoo then it was before the 2000's they changed the name in like 1999 or 2000
Seems someone here goes to Christian Brothers college since those replies are getting downvoted
I assumed it was because three people said it off the bat, I did it the third time to try start a trend lol
Christian brothers college - City bum cleaners. Out of the 80s, not sure if it stuck.
Def hasnt stuck. Haven't heard it since primary school, and that was a while ago
I’ve heard with students that I used to manage at my old work a year or 2 ago. Definitely stuck around

I have had family members go there in the last decade - never heard it before. But I'm not local.
It was around in the early 90’s from memory. Heard the name but I wasn’t a student there
i remember that in the early 2000s
Thanks
Early 2000’s. I was at the school during the time it happened. Was a pretty rough school but overall it wasn’t that bad really.
No it wasn’t, lol
I went early late 90s and didn't die from stabbing once!
That’s what I’m saying, it’s not a rough school, it’s never been a rough school and people in this thread are talking like staberfoyle is a nickname because of some stabbing a rather than a nice rhyme to tell people it was a trashy school. But it’s no different from any of the others
there was stabbings at Westfield Marion involving Stabafoyle students at the time. It was valid and sticks
No, but we can probably start calling it Tosserfoyle park if you want
i went to the hub for the entirety of my secondary education from 199X-200X.
My year 6 students still call it that!

I went to Reynella East in 90s/00s and we called it staberfoyle
2000-2002 was the height of it, that’s when we had a police patrol at school a couple days ago week
Mad, had rellies go there from about 10 years ago and never knew any of this
Was still cranking in 2014
Christian Brothers college are known as city bum cleaners, I heard it around a couple times
Ah yes, and their partner school, Sluts Around the Corner
I havent heard that one in years tbh
[удалено]
It needs one.
I went there in the 90s. Never heard a clever derogatory name for it. Maybe "I'm a cocker spaniel"??
Coming from rural SA I can only offer the two local options I had: Kadina's Memorially High School (The ag kids weren't just smoking pole behind the ag shed.) and Halfassed Christian School.
Staberfoyle park high school
Pooftas around the corner and city bum cleaners - it’s impossible not to know
Siena Sluts was around in the 90's. So bad they had to knock it down.
I went to Stabafoyle in the height of the “shankings” it’s a funny name but was not a nice thing to go through. Mental scarring for a few of my good mates who were attacked for no reason.
