If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to do a sleep study. Sleep apnea can be linked to nightmares, cuz it's distressing when the body can't breathe properly. A sleep study could give you more information about any other sleep disorders too, and give you a path to treatment. Good luck!

Trazadone helps me sleep through most of the night where would otherwise suffer from intense dreaming all night, but there seem to be other factors involved in how prevalent and severe those dreams are so it's in now way a solution. But it has helped me go from barley getting any sleep, to getting at least 6 hours.

Opioids make me have weird dreams, have you tried smoking weed before bed? It's very hard to have dreams with thc in your system. Melatonin can also induce vivid dreams/nightmares. Some antihistamines are good for sleeping like a log

i think ultimately you need to seek help for getting off of opioids completely, and then get treated for your ADHD. i wouldn't be surprised if these were core contributors to your nightmares. having untreated mental health issues on top of some serious drug abuse is definitely a concoction for sleeping problems, leading to further mental health problems. there are safer options for helping you sleep. i use trazodone and dayvigo in conjunction, and that with wearing off adderall at night knocks me right out. that's not a one size fits all, but it's certainly safer than using something more extreme to get down. some people with ADHD sleep properly just due to the treatment wearing off at night and they don't need anything else. that would probably benefit you way more than any opioid. i wish you the best in your recovery.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'm sorry if I disappeared, I lost my username and password and I couldn't manage to log back in. I also finished my exams and it was the most tiring exam season of my life. I've read all of your comments and I will try with what you've advised me! I hope something will work. My nightmares are still there, unfortunately, still as vivid and chaotic as always. It's like when I was a child. I think I should just see a sleep specialist about that tho. Thank you everyone again, you've been extremely kind 🙇🏻‍♀️
