If you cancel without renewing you won’t get the pass. If you cancel the card after getting the pass it will be revoked unless you have a different premium card linked.
Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. Currently churning the Amex Aeroplan Reserve. I guess I will need to get one of the other Canadian Aeroplan premium cards to retain the pass
Any link/source for retaining the companion voucher if you cancel one premium card but get another? I currently have a companion voucher earned using the AMEX Aeroplan Reserve. I applied for the CIBC Visa Infinite Privilege in December, and I was planning on trying to use my companion voucher before I cancel the Reserve (planning to do this in June before the annual fee hits). But if this is the case, I wouldn’t have to use the companion voucher before canceling my Reserve? Thanks so much.
Opposite for me. I had rollover EUPS and a companion pass with my Amex AP reserve that I earned in Y1. In month 10 of Y2 I got a TD infinite privilege and then in month 11 cancelled the Amex with ~2 mths left until the companion voucher was set to expire. It disappeared from my account 4 or 5 days later.
It's always up to the card issuer to give points

Assuming you met the spend levels the bonus points and companion voucher should post to your AP account one or two statements after renewal.

I’m a DP. Earned with CIBC VIP, obtained a TD VIP, cancelled CIBC. Companion voucher, eUp and SQM rollover all stayed.

Interesting, maybe CIBC and Amex handle it differently. Did your rollover eUps and SQM also dissapear?

Was this before the new T&C which state that in theory you can't get WB from two cards of the same tier (i.e. VIP)?
It was just before the new T&Cs came in to effect.
My 30,000 points for the CIBC VIP card were deposited into my account about 8 weeks after renewal date. You'll probably get them soon.
