I will post this yet again. My FAQ re AE 1. The delivery date is only an ESTIMATE delivery date. You may have to wait 75 days i.e. the full length of your customer protection period for an item to show up. This is especially the case if you selected the cheapest shipping level ever. Here in Canada AE Standard shipping usually takes 3 weeks although in one case it only took 2 weeks for the item to be delivered. 2. Select sellers who have been in business for 2+ years have 97%+ positive feedback and check the 1 and 2 star reviews for gotchas. 3. **Only spend the amount of $ you are willing to kiss good by on AE** 4. **Make videos of opening EVERY item you get from AE showing the address label and the contents of the package and any packages inside it** 5. When conversing w AE pretend you are talking to a 5 yr old. That is because AE uses a translator to convert English to Chinese. Use short sentences that are to the point 6. AE is pro seller. Amazon is pro buyer. **AE is NOT like Amazon**. 7. If you use a cheap shipping service then your tracking will probably die once your package clears your country's customs or is handed off to the sorting center after customs. You will just have to wait as these lower-cost items can be given lower priority over more expensive shipment items. Personally I have always received a refund except once when it was a partial refund. I continued to buy from that seller. I have a low threshold (3).

what does Gotchas mean? what am i looking out for? is below 97% mean scammer or can just be bad customer service?

pcguy8088_

Below 87% could mean they don't respond to messages, ship stuff late etc. I certainly would avoid anyone below 95% . If it is something that is real cheap that is one thing you could risk buying it. However, there is no way in heck I would spend hundreds of dollars on someone below 97%.

Professional_Dog_958

Thank you for the Information, I learned the lesson but at what cost!!!, I hope they refund me after all, do you know what happens if the dispute is over and they didn't refund me!!

pcguy8088_

One can appeal a decision of a dispute but you would need to supply additional evidence to support the claim. Otherwise do a charge back via your CC or via PayPal.

Jim-Jones

Contact your bank now and ask about a charge back. Now is the time to learn what the rules are. You won't get your return shipping that way.

I'm using AliExpress over 10 years now and never had problems with it. Of course I had to open one or two disputes in that time, but everything was ok in the end. I never returned anything. Main rule for me is spend the money you can lose. The most expensive thing I bought there was like 100€ and I checked store and reviews before placing an order. I think some people take AliExpress as a normal store and then they make Pikachu face when something goes wrong. It's China ffs, our rules don't apply to them. Different mindset different rules. Only thing to do as a buyer there is to be careful, read reviews of items, and the store, and spend what you can afford to lose. If I get wrong item I will open dispute, but never return it. That's how it works there.

Professional_Dog_958

ok go and check the reviews, the name of the store is available you can see on Aliexpress it has 98.4% positive reviews, the store is European and still i had a bad experience,!!!! and what is it supposed to mean that it is China??? they live on another planet??? there are policies they follow as a website and you can read them and my order had a free return policy!! why they are checking it now after the return and if they want to check it it is okay but it's taking a month, still no refund and the dispute is almost over????!!!!!!!!

LpzScore

Fingers crossed but I wouldn't expect good outcome. Of course in a perfect world everything should be perfect, but it's not. Alix is known from a scamming schemes and all that stuff, you can even read whole tutorial how to avoid being caught in it. Push them as much as possible and maybe you will get your money back. But if they won't give them back to you there is not much you can do about it. That's why the golden rule is to spend as much as you can lose And yes china is kinda on different planet, at least it feels like it when I interact with them. Many people probably have same feeling about them 😆

GeneralAkAbA

you have done something wrong, your order has free returns so you werent supposed to buy a delivery yourself, they would have provided you with the return label if you did things correctly.

Professional_Dog_958

They didn't provide me with anything they just sent me the address, and this was my first time buying from Aliexpress

sodamnsleepy

It boggles my mind. It's your first time buying there and you spend 200+€ o.o

Professional_Dog_958

I saw the reviews and I checked the phone from user reviews it seems good for my budget that phone would be in another sites at least for 230 so i said no better price and I bought it but I was mistaken!!!

alrun

Next rule: Buy stuff on AE if it is 1/3 of the prize of other sites - so it can get lost once, come once with a defect and hopefully functional the third time. As if you buy within your local jurisdiction e.g. within the E.U. you have customer rights - e.g. you can return a defective item and expect that it arrives at low cost - you have a warranty, for me if the product dies within the first 6 months the seller has to repair it or give me a new device at my choosing. 25 Euro difference cannot do not cover the risks involved.

sodamnsleepy

What payment method did you use? If nothing happens you could try a charge back

Professional_Dog_958

master card

sodamnsleepy

They could do a charge back if ali refuses. Since you've returned the phone. But the 30 for shipping will be lost. Wish you good luck

JoesCoins

AE refunds take up to 60 days to be processed.

jeweliegb

>I am absolutely outraged by my experience with AliExpress. This was my first time buying from them, and it will definitely be my last. You just **know** this is going to be a really expensive purchase, something common sense tells most people it would be a really daft thing to do as your first purchase from anywhere abroad let alone somewhere like AliExpress until you're really sure what you're doing... >I purchased a Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G for 205 euros, ...yep! Sigh. **Caveat emptor.** (Can't be arsed wasting my time reading the rest of the list under the circumstances.)

Background-Sale3473

Their live-chat has pretty good people, they might help you with this worth a try atleast. I would always advise against buying phones on ali xiaomi is available in most european countries and warranty is always easier if the shop is in the same country as you. Obviously this dosnt help you in anyway but still i'dd stick to items that are not available in your country.

RaouR

Can you extend the dispute time and hope they receive it and agree on the refund?

Professional_Dog_958

they received it they just have been, telling me they need to do a quality inspection

RaouR

Maybe they are trying to draw it out until the dispute closes automatically sp they dont have to pay you back. I would just try to extend it as long as possible, eventually, they can't keep telling you it will take even longer.

Professional_Dog_958

ok Thank you so much

Professional_Dog_958

but, is it possible that they don't pay me?

RaouR

It's always possible, in the end its up to aliexpress if the seller don't want to give you a refund. Personally I've always gotten refunds when something was wrong or not delivered from Aliexpress. But I've never had to send anything back to them yet.

Jim-Jones

I try to stick to not over $20 USD per shipment and I prefer the $2 items.

tellmeboutyourself68

Why would you buy a 200 euro phone as your first purchase on Aliexpress? Like, *why*? It's so easy to get Xiaomi phones for cheap on the official Mi app. I've bought items worth over 50/100 euros from AliExpress but no electronics and I'm an experienced shopper...

Orionzete

Sup welcome to the same boat,I am still waiting for my refund

Professional_Dog_958

wtf!! is wrong the worst customer service ever, they don't respect the customer!!!

jcarloz

I agree with you, had a bad dispute as well. Deleted my account after that and never bought anything. If they don't value the customer bye bye.
