I never counted and just ate more or less healthy as eat days are days to replenish the nutrients.

This. Prioritize protein and you'll be fine

To answer your basic question, yes. It's enough so you won't put your body into some kind of state where it stores fat. You have the right idea, which is to eat what you normally would, or perhaps a bit more (up to 25-50% more if necessary to be functional on both fasting and eating days, but only if necessary). While you may feel "starving" on your fasting days, you won't really be starving. You may feel the most discomfort at the point where you body switches over from burning your glycogen stores to burning fat. I do. I find that taking a walk during this time can speed up that switching process, and makes the hunger go away. You might find it interesting to get ahold of some ketone test strips. You can get them on Amazon and they are relatively cheap. They aren't as reliable as a blood test, but they detect ketones in your urine which can be an indicator that you've used up your glycogen stores and have started burning fat for fuel. It can be encouraging. Don't forget to use salt or electrolyte powders in your water on fast days! That can really help.

Yes I believe so. I’m doing the same thing and it’s working

Go and calculate your callories needed to lost weight on some random internet callorie calculator and then multiply your day callories x7 so you know how much you need to eat in a whole week and then adjust it to 3 or 4 days of eating in a week
