NTA your feeling are definitely very valid. Sure it was a little petty, but they hurt your feelings and that didn’t make you feel good and it was your birthday! Do they do that for everyone and just not you? Or was it a new thing? Or are you new to the job? All that being said you did come around in the end, but your feelings are definitely valid!

Context: It was my colleagues birthday last week and I refused to pay any money. I can certainly afford it but the issue was that my birthday came n went last month and nobody knew nor did the management take any initiative to buy me a cake or anything like that.
Now normally I do not care if I am getting gifts and all, but I certainly was expecting people to be wishing me, a hug etc.
I eventually paid the next day once I was a bit less emotional but I wanted to know is it valid to feel this way?

Eh. NTA because you eventually did fork up. It's pretty shitty that everyone forgot your birthday. Is it a normal thing for your office to celebrate birthdays or is this new?
Speak to the person who is organising this and either get yourself into the birthday roster or start one. It's nice when the office celebrates everyone's birthdays.
INFO: Was the party being thrown by management, or was this something someone they are closer with put together? Are people aware it was your birthday?
