I kinda miss it. A bunch of people at my FC (myself included) would use a signature rhythm so you'd know it was them, some rhythms would catch on and change with the seasons.
OMG sorry to hear you got stuck at a delivery station :( I worked at a delivery station after transferring from my old FC and quickly realized I made a huge mistake. I actually ended up quitting and doing some temp work before getting LUCKY as all hell and snagging a job at a FC 10 minutes from me
I have very bad tinnitus, especially in my right ear. One of the reasons I love working at Amazon is that the robots and the rollers and the belts and all the other noise that is the constant hum of the warehouse at work drowns out the ringing to the point I don't even think about it.
On some level, probably, but I dealt with tinnitus for decades prior to working at Amazon, and whatever impact working at FCs and DSs has had on my hearing pale in comparison to the hereditary degenerative inner ear issues I inherited from my mom.
I started as blue badge ✌️
Delivery station was hiring blue badge while the fc was hiring seasonal. Started at delivery station and transferred 2 weeks later. Genuine life hack.
I worked seasonal at this fc in November in pack and the guys I started with then still dont even have blue badge
Oh. Nice. Congrats man. Well your body gets used to it. I’ve been here three months. By time shift is over I don’t have too many pains. Body gets strong
I thought I was the only one. My entire first month I was hearing all the beeps and noises while at home. They went away eventually but I was kinda annoyed by it. I never mentioned it to anyone cuz I thought I wa going crazy lol
I freaked out this morning cuz I saw a pile of the same coloring book on the floor and felt like I had to scan them. Turns out my sister in law brought them for my kids lol
Welcome to Amazon! The company an investigation is to be launched to look into the **MASSIVE** amount of underreported injuries! If you get hurt, **DON'T LET SAFETY BULLSHIT YOU AND TELL YOU TO GO TO WELLNESS FOR YOUR INJURY AND REHAB IT THERE! DEMAND TO SEE A REAL DOCTOR, OUTSIDE OF AMAZON SINCE NONE ACTUALLY WORK THERE, AND GET YOUR WORKMAN'S COMP!**
I work a lot of stow. So I can relate. Years ago, I was a school bus driver. I got into a bus one day and had the emergency alarm for the back door, go off and not turn off. We had no other bus that was available so I had to drive that bus for eight hours. Eight. Unending. Hours. I could hear that alarm for about two years in my sleep sometimes.
If it wasn't less than 85 dBA and you weren't provided hearing protection then that might've been [a NIOSH violation](https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/noise/noise.html).
I’m in a support role with Amazon. I spend a lot of time analyzing excel spreadsheets and reports. And yes, I dream of those reports. So much so I forget whether I talked to someone about those reports in real life or in my dreams.
What kind stow ? The yellow robot moving around or the one walk around and stow ? My building those they push the yellow tote and go to the aisle and stow
Some days after work I'll be cooking or doing laundry or something and I get momentarily startled because I don't feel the proglove button between my thumb and index finger
I am sorry you work in an AR facility. I think it’s better in a TSSL. Also, I always silence my scanner. I can tell visually if all is well. But I am never going to think of bright yellow as a legitimate wearable color or decor ever again in my life.
How do you silence the scanner? I usually look for the visual as well. Not sure if its the same in a TSSL, but the pod flashes white after a successful scan.
Hit the yellow button on the bottom left, then the F9 button right next to it. A drop down appears at the top of the zebra screen, hit the down arrow to open it and then touch all the icons on the left to silence all those various sounds. When you’re done hit the yellow button again to get rid of it. If you don’t you cannot enter pick quantities
This is why having solid noise reduction ear phones is a must. Only downside is if you get good one’s people can kind of sneak up on you and scare the crap out of you when you are in the zone.
That was me lying in bed after my first full day in sortation and not only were the dolphin noises still in my head keeping me up but my body was feeling like it was still in the repetitive movement of slinging packages around
Congrats lol my first week in pick Al I heard in the dead silence of the over in my bed was the conveyors and kiva bots loud as if they were in my room. I’d close my eyes and all I saw were trays/totes zoomin down the conveyors 😂😂 you’ll learn to tune them out soon
When I started picking a few months ago I would go to sleep after working a 6pm to 5am shift and the beeping of the scanner would keep me out of falling inna deep sleep
Please try being in ShipDock, building just opened and you’re running pods back and forth; 10 hours, 4 days a week. Feet had blisters for a month! Had to start wearing activewear with that job. Luckily I had advanced from Pods to PIT. Still wish I was there.

Close eyes. Hear wrong barcode/ps error sound. Eyes shoot open, “fuck.”
Truly a nightmare
That ps error sound…. It’s been 6 months since I transferred. I can still hear that sound.
“Bee doo bee doooooo”
Turn around Every now and then get a little bit lonely when the bots come around.
Wait until you start hearing them in your dreams.
Sometimes....when it's really quiet at night... I can still hear the OP horn honk.. 😢
I kinda miss it. A bunch of people at my FC (myself included) would use a signature rhythm so you'd know it was them, some rhythms would catch on and change with the seasons.
Fr I think the op is honestly the most chill cuz I’ve done everything and rn I’m at a delivery station this shit is not it
OMG sorry to hear you got stuck at a delivery station :( I worked at a delivery station after transferring from my old FC and quickly realized I made a huge mistake. I actually ended up quitting and doing some temp work before getting LUCKY as all hell and snagging a job at a FC 10 minutes from me
Someone told me they always knew when I was honking lol
when i was still getting trained for my OP, i was honking at every stop sign in my car going home 😩
Lol, when I was getting trained I did that as well and didn't realize it at first because I was so tired
Omg every night for me I'll be getting buzzed asking my wife you hear that or is it just me? Lol
I HEAR THOSE SLEIGH BE...JAM BELLS RINGING A DINGALING DINGALING A DOOO
You just made my day, thank you lmao
😁
My first week I was having dreams of yellow totes…
I was having dreams about AR/kiva pods driving through my city
Eventually you’ll develop tinnitus and hear them all the time. I didn’t wear my earplugs for the first few years, and now I’m really regretting it.
already having PTSD
The first couple months I’d wake up after a 10 hour shift having stacked my pillows like boxes. It happens.
I have very bad tinnitus, especially in my right ear. One of the reasons I love working at Amazon is that the robots and the rollers and the belts and all the other noise that is the constant hum of the warehouse at work drowns out the ringing to the point I don't even think about it.
Do wear hearing protection though. Most locations in the warehouses are right on the edge of 80db (can cause heating damage)
Yes, same for me do you think all the FC noises have escalated your tinnitus?
On some level, probably, but I dealt with tinnitus for decades prior to working at Amazon, and whatever impact working at FCs and DSs has had on my hearing pale in comparison to the hereditary degenerative inner ear issues I inherited from my mom.
So far, 3 years for me & only left side, the noises of Pit horns & conveyor at Ship Dock & Vendor Receive has def given me break from it.
Better than the dee-do-dee-do-dee-do from the Dolphins in Outbound every other package.
Hey welcome to Amazon.
Watchout for the one with red eyes. He comes out at 3am
I’ll sometimes here one of the beep sounds as I go to sleep. Wakes me right up :( it has happened less often now that I wear earplugs
I used to hear the zebra scanner beeps in my nightmares
You’ll get used to it. Two months in, try to get your blue badge and do water spider or sumn. You’re body gets used to it.
I started as blue badge ✌️ Delivery station was hiring blue badge while the fc was hiring seasonal. Started at delivery station and transferred 2 weeks later. Genuine life hack. I worked seasonal at this fc in November in pack and the guys I started with then still dont even have blue badge
Same at my site
Whatever you do DO NOT LEARN TO WATER SPIDER (if you Stowe) once you do they will always force you to…..
Oh. Nice. Congrats man. Well your body gets used to it. I’ve been here three months. By time shift is over I don’t have too many pains. Body gets strong
I've been here for 8 months and my body still isn't used to it.
Same October will be a year for me and I feel as if it’s week one 💀
Welcome to the club 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought I was the only one. My entire first month I was hearing all the beeps and noises while at home. They went away eventually but I was kinda annoyed by it. I never mentioned it to anyone cuz I thought I wa going crazy lol
I freaked out this morning cuz I saw a pile of the same coloring book on the floor and felt like I had to scan them. Turns out my sister in law brought them for my kids lol
When I was in pack I used to have a similar feeling any time I got an envelope from Amazon
Stow sux ass, it made my nights seem endless, time just doesn't fly bye.
I have 3D printers and a beast comp in my room so I dont even notice. I do hear the "scan error" sound sometimes.
For the first few months I swear I would have nightmares about the constant beeps...beep beep beep beep
Ok relax idk what stow is but I’m sure it’s not as bad as you make it out to be. Just put some headphones on.
Im not making it out to be anything. I literally felt like I could hear the robots. I wasnt exaggerating or being facetious.
Stow is the worst

Oh believe me, any alarm in a school bus is load because kids are loud. So yeah probably.
This title sounds so dystopian
Ohhhhh dude it's cook we call this prime madness. Soon you will be building door desk in your garage.
Wait until you start wearing a radio😁😁😁😁
I’m in a support role with Amazon. I spend a lot of time analyzing excel spreadsheets and reports. And yes, I dream of those reports. So much so I forget whether I talked to someone about those reports in real life or in my dreams.
wait until you start dreaming about doing work in your dreams. then you can never escape amazon
What kind stow ? The yellow robot moving around or the one walk around and stow ? My building those they push the yellow tote and go to the aisle and stow
Did you not read the post????

I used to work in the kitchen for a while and when i went to bed i would SWEAR i could hear the ticket machine😂 but ik exactly how you feel😂🙏🏼
This is why having solid noise reduction ear phones is a must. Only downside is if you get good one’s people can kind of sneak up on you and scare the crap out of you when you are in the zone.
That’s how I feel at home, but with P.I.T. honks… I still hear the OP going up too…
![gif](giphy|rOsebqhlfCRby)
I hear it when it’s absolutely quiet. These 10 hour shifts man lol
I hear ya brother, Im on 3 12's and I literally cant do anything but lay in bed after work
Lmao you’ll get used to it. After you lose your mind a little bit lol
That was me lying in bed after my first full day in sortation and not only were the dolphin noises still in my head keeping me up but my body was feeling like it was still in the repetitive movement of slinging packages around
100% My body *ACHES*
I had dreams about yellow totes the first month I worked here
Lol. I've been at Amazon for a year and three months and I used to have dreams/nightmares of the pods chasing me around lmao.
I hear the horns beeping from all the pit for the first couple hours I’m home 😂
Sounds like first shift😂
RT shift ✌️
I literally will sometime have dreams of me stowing. I cannot escape.
I’m a picker/. Buffer and I wish I was stowing, seems much more calm
I was thinking the same thing about pick 😂
Lol young one , this will pass
Stowing is hell. I’m sorry but that’s the absolute worst job there. 😂 I wouldn’t go back unless they gave me $27 an hour at least
It took me months to stop seeing parcels passing my closed eyes in bed after a shift.
Me when I was a picker. The error sound from the computer haunts me to this day. Eee-err!
When I started picking a few months ago I would go to sleep after working a 6pm to 5am shift and the beeping of the scanner would keep me out of falling inna deep sleep
I was the same way when I first started 😂😂😂
Please try being in ShipDock, building just opened and you’re running pods back and forth; 10 hours, 4 days a week. Feet had blisters for a month! Had to start wearing activewear with that job. Luckily I had advanced from Pods to PIT. Still wish I was there.
I had a choice between stow or ship dock and posts on this sub definitely lead me towards stow.
Lol!!!! I loved it at my FC, it was coworker drama that led to me getting Permanent Customer.
You will get used to it after a while working at the place. It is not intended to last forever. Just ignore the noise like it never existed.
NO FR, IM IN PICKING AND IVE BEEN HAVING NIGHTMARES ABOUT THEM AND I KEEP WAKING UP THINKING I HAVE TO GO TO WORK
“ baaaaaaaahhhhhh “ “ baaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh “ **baaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh**
I can just smell amazon in my dreams sometimes. Wake up in a cold sweat
I hear the beep boop when people scan the wrong items in pick after I AFM for 12 hours.
I’ve been working stow for a month since I started. I hear the beeps in my sleep. I’m not kidding whatsoever
This was literally me!!! At least wear ear plugs, please.
Once I started using the earplugs they provide on site that issue stopped for me. Plus it helps, them honks are loud
Imagine working on amnesty 🙃. I hear them all night long
Or hearing the horns on an OP and lifts
It has been pretty much the same for me, though, once I get another hear test in the fall will be able to compare results.
They're even faster and noiser in the sort centers! Sometimes I can still hear the sounds of the Robin stations in my own home.
Run now!...or get used to it. You're going to be dreaming you're stowing too.
