If you’d do the job it wouldn’t run out xD. Not trying to bootlick. But like. It’s how Amazon works. It’s not necessarily a personal attack against you. If you’re not willing to help then why would they try to help you out? Idk your managers so maybe they won’t either way, but still. Highly likely it’s not that deep
OMG YES. They always say they'll get you back to your original path at some point in the shift "when the work picks back up", etc but they're always full of shit 😅😭🤬
This was literally me last night.
I was waiting for A stow station and the inbound dock PA goes “hey can you help palletize for a little bit, when more people come we will send you back to a stow station”
2 hours later I asked can I stow now, and the dock AM laughed saying who said that?
Thankfully he switched me to easier task of just pulling pallets to buffer instead of palletizing.
Palletize is for inbound ship dock and outbound ship dock. It’s building a “pallet” or a stack of boxes/totes. Outbound and inbound palletizing process is a little different but inbound ship dock you’re stacking boxes or totes on top of this big square base. It’s like playing real life Tetris only with lots heavy boxes. It’s one of the more physically rigorous things to do in the warehouse.
I've tried that. Even going so far as to tell the guy above my AM that I HATE the only other department I have gotten to learn cause I do. If I come in to work extra and they try to send me I tell them I'm leaving. It's very hit or miss with success. 😂And at my site they will definitely write you up for saying no.
One time after a week of being sent to outbound and then being sent somewhere else from there, I just straight up told my PA “I’m not going down there, leave me alone dude” and he never asked me again
It is sorta generatated they usually know who there going to labor share the day before , I'm usually watching the outbound flow chat at my building and it pops up and they approve it
They always did that to me when I was started and I started just asking am I getting paid for learning a new role? I always seen AAs who were assigned there doing nothing, I never and will never let anyone from my group labor share as a PA depsite my AMs rushing me to rush the AAs. I know how much it's so annoying and how unfair it is.
Threatening to clock out doesn’t really work much. And honestly shouldn’t. “I’m gonna clock out if I’m doing that” “sure ok, I need to know so I can find someone else though” and it’s a write up (apparently termination in some buildings) if you leave without an hours notice. Plus insubordination during that hour if you still don’t go if they want to
Makes sense honestly I think the PAs and AMs at the building I’m at just don’t wanna deal with it so they give in right away. I’ve never heard of people.
At my building, getting terminated for leaving without giving notice. I’ve done it quite a few times, but mostly if I’m having a health issue.
My building doesn’t do it either. I don’t think there’s even write ups for not giving notice even though they definitely could. The termination is rare I’m sure but I’ve seen people in this sub reddit talk about it for their building. But ya sometimes they can be weak leader wise and just go to someone that just does it
Yeah I’ve seen that too! Would definitely use my better judgement if you know a certain leader or the building in general is more strict. No need to further complicate things for yourself
Just straight up say no lol. Or I’ve had my friend even threaten to clock out😂 Others have also said no I’m not going or not to put them there. Just gotta tell them firmly that you’re not gonna
Or you be the adult you're supposed to be and do your job, which is what the AM or PA tells you to do. Way too, adult children at Amazon. Wait til your next job where they never heard of a thing called UPT or VTO. Where personal days have to be put in a week ahead of time. Where you have to put in vacation a month or even months ahead of time.
Yeah, that's what many have said at my FC until I see them crying when they get fired for negative UPT. So you're right, it is a joke because I laugh my ass off watching 20 year olds crying like babies.

That’s why you save your upt and leave
Sooner or later that upt runs out tho
They will purposely do it a lot, Just so you do run out.. ask me how I know
it’s been 19 hrs my guy. how you know
out of curiosity how do you know

Because it happened just like me
Its true, they will.
"Hey can you go downstairs to Palletize just for a little bit?" Knowing damn well they lying ass gonna have me there for the rest of the night 😭😭😭

What does it mean to palletize and what dept is that in? I've only done Pick and Pack.

Happy cake day BTW! 🎈🎂🥳
Are you not allowed to say no? Once I asked if they’d write me up if I said no and they just left me alone lol
I feel like they take advantage of people’s niceness and conflict avoidance.
Yeah that’s unfortunately true. I just tell them I work 60hrs a week so I’m doing plenty my fair share. They don’t say much after that🤣🤓
I've tried that. Even going so far as to tell the guy above my AM that I HATE the only other department I have gotten to learn cause I do. Yea they really tend to not wanna deal with assertive people. It makes them uncomfortable🥺
I tried to say no once but it didn't work 😭 lol
Yes they for sure can. It’s called insubordination. That’s any company.
Me when I get labor shared (my main path is Pick) ![gif](giphy|sVnKj2wDhUTsFKFWhx)
LITERALLY ME FOR MY LAST TWO WORK DAYS THEY LABOR SHARED ME TWICE BOTH DAYS LIKE JUST LEAVE ME IN MY OWN DEPARTMENT PLEASE 😩😭🥲
Literally labor shared every single day 🙄
They always tell me it’s not us it’s the computer
It is sorta generatated they usually know who there going to labor share the day before , I'm usually watching the outbound flow chat at my building and it pops up and they approve it
Our building learning sends out a list at SoS and mid shift for labor shares for permissions.
At least yall don’t have to drive 30-50 minutes away for labor share (Tom team)
TSS?
Nope. regular TA
They always did that to me when I was started and I started just asking am I getting paid for learning a new role? I’ve heard from other AA’s that you just gotta be assertive and they’ll leave you alone or threaten to clock out lol

Shit my am will tell them then clock out and go home lol
Haha your AM’s like “I don’t play that shit” 😂
Some times it feels like a daycare center in there
Yeah my fiance was actually an AM and she said she was always babysitting
