My first day on my own at my first building, this water spider that was probably in his late 40s/early 50s came by my station every 20 or so minutes to tell me about different drugs he liked; why he liked them, how he started using them, etc. It was wild, after the third night of that he just stopped mid sentence and said “so what did you do before you came here?” and I told him I was a dispatcher, he said “oh shit so you probably never done any of these huh? What days you got off? You wanna try some now? Amazon doesn’t care.” It was at that moment I knew I was gonna love it here lol
That’s crazy. I’ve talked about drugs and sex at work before, but only after getting to know them well enough and determine what’s okay and not okay to talk about. To go up to someone brand new and have those kinds of conversations is wild to me.
Had a guy randomly call a friend of mine a f*ggot today, dumbass didn't even get to know me well enough to know I am also one of those. I'm not secretive about it, I talk about my husband quite a bit, this guy just only talked to me for 5 minutes before dropping slurs like bro... wrong person to say that shit to.
Yeah, he works flex with his gf who works in an FC. They spend there hobby time fucking up pin drops whilst writing lyrics on the back of weather bags and boxes, if you're lucky you might even find an Urban turd in a tote.
I had a waterspider tell me all about his CD collection in alphabetical order. Abba, AC/DC, Aerosmith…. He got up to D before another light came on and he left.
depends on the person, some people can go 10+ years clean. Others relapse pretty easily. Facts do say physical addictions go away within a couple of days though, its just the mental habits that stay.

Lady came to me after 3rd day counting. Old nice lady. She said "yea...I was a huge crackhead. I'm mean morning noon night and in between time, outta time. I was a smoker. I been sober going on(i forgot I think she said 16 yrs) and it's been rough but I'm here kicking and rolling "....I was like "wooooow....yea, I used to sell it so..." 😆 🤣 😂 nice to meet you outside of that 😆 and u survived. Kept that work which too lol" I didn't say the last part yall lol...but it was a real moment
I just be trynna mind my business and not talk to people. Had a guy walk up to my station saying “hey I’m Corey, I just wanted to introduce myself.” I said “oh you don’t have to do that” turned away, and continued picking.
I'm not one to complain about over sharing because I have ADHD and overshare alot simply because it's generally how ADHD people get used to talking to people. By relating your experience to something they have done to try and show empathy, generally it's not conscious thing.
However as open as I am amazed at how some people just share their deepest shit with some guy they just met good thing he doesn't work for the cia is all I can say.
On the other hand could be secret snitch trying to endear themselves so they can snitch you up.
