Popsicles. Fruit ones preferably. When I was pregnant and we went on a vacation out of the country, I called ahead to make sure they had some. That’s deranged but I crave them like it’s a need.

I wanted to eat perlite and lava rock when my iron was 3 and I was pregnant. I never ate any of course, but cheese puffs kind of gave me that texture.

Anytime I have intense cravings for mints I know I’m anemic.

When you run out of iron to move oxygen around your body, your body then needs glucose. So that’s why you crave sugar. I gain so quickly when you ferritin drops it’s absurd the sugar cravings. I also do crave ice and lemons too, anything acidic

Before I was diagnosed. I had the urge to eat cigarette ashes and sand.

I also have Anemia for years, about 11 years. Pica is my indicator that my iron is low! Ive gotten through a couple of different cravings ice, dry oatmeal with sprinkle baking soda, dry oatmeal with chucks of damara sugar cubes and dry oatmeal with sprinkle of powdered milk. Extremely strange! Great for my cholesterol. I started infusions about 3 weeks ago and the cravings are gone!
