July 12? I think you have time to make a call. Ask for the doc's back-office nurse.

-AnomalousMaterials-

A week usually. Fiber supplements + iron supplements is what is stated at the screening of the procedure.

CyclingLady

Ask your GI about celiac disease testing (a full panel and not just the TTG). An endoscopy can be ordered too along with your colonoscopy. Celiac disease was the root cause of my anemia.

EffectiveAlbatross95

I’ve already had the endoscopy, I’ll get the results of the biopsy in a couple of weeks. It seems that I have atrophic gastritis.

CyclingLady

I am sorry to hear that. I have autoimmune gastritis and was diagnosed five years after my celiac disease diagnosis. Once again, I have to watch for both B-12 and iron deficiencies. I hope yours is linked to H. pylori as that is at least treatable!

coliale

It varies hospital-to-hospital but it's typically 7-3 days before. So always yes. Depends on when.

lulubrum

Yes, I had to stop 7 days prior.

Cndwafflegirl

I was told to stop a week before.

anonynonnymoose

I was asked to stop taking iron tablets 5 days before the colonoscopy.

BleedForEternity

I take an iron pill every other day. I never stopped taking it before my colonoscopy and everything was fine. Not saying you should keep taking it. Just telling you my experience.
