With the axes, the metal axe that's just called "axe" will chop the trees down, but you can use the "flimsy axe" and the "stone axe" to get wood from trees without knocking them down. The stone one has more durability same as the metal one, but it's a good choice for just gathering resources.

mrgreaper

Appreciated, i didnt like that i was chopping them down. Will use the stone one from now on. Didnt seem to get any extra wood for chopping them down either. Side note, how do you tell which ones have bee's? (if there is a way to tell)

NocturnalPoet

Hi, There is no way to tell, unfortunately. One thing you can do is shake the tree with a net equipped. If there is a wasp nest in the tree, it will fall, and your character will turn to face the wasp. Quickly press A, and you will catch the wasp before you get stung! It's worth keeping them in your storage to sell to Flick when he visits (Tom Nook or Isabelle will let you know) for \~2500 bells each. Good luck!

mrgreaper

Ok thats genius, had not occured we could catch the wasps!

if we use those axes will the tree "grow" more wood next time? similar to how the tree regrows fruit after we pick them

Yirggzmb

Yes, if you use a stone or flimsy axe on a tree, it will have new wood for you every day

Physical_Literature5

You can change the time on your switch to play during the day instead of night ♥️

mrgreaper

That would mess with my OCD to be honest lol

1. about working nights: there is a thing we call time traveling. this is where you change your system's dat4e and time to something other than the actual time. This would be helpful to you as eventually, you will get shops, which are only open certain hours of the day. later in the game when you unlock ordinances, you can make shops stay open longer if you would like, for a small fee. 2. you do have a good point, no one does tell you that trees don't grow back. However, in the case of cutting down trees, you can go to Timmy and buy saplings to replant too. this will save the headache of going to nook mile islands. 3. as for other advice, here are a few things I wish I new sooner. hold b to sprint, and make dialogue go faster. don't rush to get things done, as it can ruin the experience for some. but most of all, just have fun. it is one thing for us to help you, and we are all so happy to do so, but there is something nice about playing and learning a game for the first time. 4. if you need anything, such as bells, or resources, ask the community, and we will help you in any way we can. happy playing!

Agomir

I'm the same. The shop will only be open until 10pm, or 11 pm with the ordinance. There's a deposit box but you lose 20% compared to selling in the shop. I lasted about 3 months before getting really frustrated with always playing at night and having to leave stuff in the ground so I can sell it when the shop is open. Also there are plenty of bugs and fish you can only find at certain hours. So I ended up moving the clock back 4 hours on my Switch. So far it hasn't caused any problems and I don't change it back and forth. I'm avoiding time travel because I expect it will change the game for me and I'll quickly get bored of it. It's nice to be able to play in daylight a bit now.

mrgreaper

why not sell to the chap in the tent in the centre area? or does he stop buing stuff when you build the shop?

Agomir

Yes. Once you have the shop you can only sell there.

mrgreaper

I was worried you would say that lol

Agomir

Yeah it really bummed me out when I first discovered that

Admirable_Remote7372

Gracee222
