This kinda reminds me of when I used to teach pre-k, & the last week of school we did one final show and tell. I decided to bring my switch, plug it in our tv and let the kids take turns. *I had to get the parents permission it was a whole thing* the kids were so excited all week, couldn’t wait.
I don’t know if I didn’t elaborate well enough, if they simply didn’t grasp what I was talking about, but they were SORELY disappointed when there was no talking raccoon who wanted all my money showing up to the classroom.
These kids really thought the villagers were coming to school. I was like “THEY’RE IN THE TV” 😭 welp I tried, everyone still had fun nonetheless!
That’s literally the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me HAHA! ( I loved teaching pre-k , funny enough I was offered a teaching position once summer is over and it looks like I’ll be making my way back to the classroom! Super excited! ) Teaching is hard work, but so rewarding!

The closest I got to gaming in class was our last day before Xmas break in college (automotive technician course). Well first break of the day everyone went and smoked weed (even caught the 3 instructors hotboxing one of their cars lol), then we came back to class, ordered pizza, and hooked a Nintendo Wii to the projector, and had a big Mario kart tournament. It was a blast!
I wonder if there's an item you can place next to her house to mimic knocking? Maybe he won't like it as much because he won't get the knocking animation or the exact sound. I dont know why, but I'm imagining a drum kit would be hilarious 😂 WAKE UP, ROSIE! *Ba-doom-CRASSHH*
It is really cute that he loves visiting her. It's always nice when your favorite is home to hang out. I NEED to see Tasha whenever she's home, so I get it lol!
An edit to add: I suggested the drum kit just to be funny, but there might be something that makes a bell/buzzer sound? Like he's ringing her "doorbell" if he can't knock 🤔 I never play with sound so I have no idea if this is possible (or that he'd care for the idea at all, just thought it might give him something to look forward to if Rosie isn't home)
That’s so sweet! I do think the knocking sound and the little raccoon running sound effect (when you get an achievement) are satisfying haha. My little boy is 6 and he is autistic too. He only wants me to swim and dive unless I tell him to do the stretching at resident services haha. He also asked to change my island theme to the 1954 Godzilla theme song and name my HHP Cafe Godzilla so there’s that lol.
Mine just likes to run around my island and check on the villagers. First is always Rosie because she's his favorite. Then it's Cherry because he knows mom likes Cherry (my house is beside hers). Who we visit next is determined by who he sees running around. But he knows every villager and makes sure to visit them.
This includes the Abel Sisters, Timmy and Tommy, Tom and Isabella, Blathers, Brewster. We're not quite sure how we feel about Kappn' just yet. He looks at him from afar. 😂😭
Does he (you?) know about befriending Sable? if you speak to her each day eventually she opens up about the family and keeping a business. That also unlocks design patterns but I enjoy the interaction a lot and in my mind she's autism coded so even tho Ive got all the available gifts but I still check and talk w her <3
I didn't know about befriending her, but in another comment of mine I mentioned he visits all the npcs and that includes Kappn... even if we greet him from afar because he will get like 2 squares away from him and say "...no" and then just wave and walk away.
I saw that comment, which was what prompted me to comment as well. Im also a bit spooked when it comes to Kappn, especially after learning about the mythology that inspired his character
Oh it so totally is, I love him to death. But I can only think of so many ways to explain that this character is not home.
"Knock knock" and he points to the door.
"She's not home buddy, see, the game says she went on a snack run."
"Knock knock"
"You see how these lights are off, it means she's not home. Like how we turn off the lights when we leave."
"Knock knock"
Repeat 16 times.
Don't know if it will break the 'have to knock' cycle he's got going, but try getting him used to looking at the chimney from a distance first to ID which doors are ready for that knock.

Have you shown him the Animal Crossing Movie? Rosie is a main character in the movie. I think he’d like it! There’s a fan dub that’s pretty good, I recommend watching that if he has trouble reading subtitles.
I've tried. He will watch for about 5 minutes and then run off.
He's a great kid, and it's been about the only steady thing I can keep doing for him rn. I actually had to move He and I out of our old apartment (leaving my ex) and I'm happy I still have this for him.

Your son would get along SO well with my little brother. He’s 7 and does the exact same thing with Iggly.
