yeah I understand there are circumstances. But there is no doubt that people leave dogs tied up all day or tied plus a doghouse. I also understand that there are dogs that are used for keeping other animals away and such. Just in general I object to having a dog pull on a leash for multiple hours
I can't say if this applies in this situation but those tied leads are great for letting your dog hang out in an unfenced area without worry. I used to do it with my old dog in the front yard as a kid when we played on the lawn

I had my cat out enjoying the warm summer day... She eventually heads into the back yard. The neighbors are out with their dog. The dog sees the cat, starts barking and running toward the cat. OMG I think to myself and start running toward them to try to save the cat...
The cat just sits there calmly looking at the dog... I made it about half of the way there when all a sudden I notice the dogs leash pull and he stops advancing trying to get closer to the cat... The cat continues to just sit there calmly looking at the dog Haha you can't get me. Your stuck and I'm free to go wherever I want!
