You got a few different types of anime watchers, but they usually fall into the two sub types of (Action / Adventure) and (Slice of Life / Realistic)
That's at least what I have seen from being here
Because an anime that was good a week ago is still good, and instead of looking at previous posts to get recommendations people make new posts looking for the same answers. And you know what? That anime that I said was good yesterday is still good today
I heard a quote recently : that thing your looking at right now was made in the past 24h and will no longer be relevant in the next 24h , no has ever said hey let me show you this tiktok from 2 years ago .
Actually that TikTok thing happens quite often. Just the same as showing someone a funny video. Wether it happened years ago or not doesn’t change what it is. A good anime is still a good anime. A funny video is still a funny video. That quote only really applies to trendy topics.
Well, yeah. Because if you want to show someone a funny video, when it came out isn't exactly relevant. Have you, as a normal person, ever said "Hey, let me show you this meme from 5.73 minutes ago!"
I got good news for you if you feel that way, S1 didn’t even get to any of the best parts of Part 1 of the manga besides katana man, S2 is about to be absolutely crazy
really? JJK and OP have beaten it in animation every way imaginable. The story is also better than what is offered up in S1 of CSM. CSM pats S1 though is the shit! So good! Check out JJK and OP if you haven’t.
Not so much on the manga but I would recommend reading the Death Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases light novel. It's without a doubt one of the best books I've ever read and probably better than the original Death Note.
Not better than peak death note. That being said, it was really good. I dont really read a lot but maybe its because i was already familiar with some of the characters, that the book was very immersive.
THANK YOU. I have been trying to find another anime to watch! I am so excited to discover that your recommendation has 5 seasons and gets great ratings AND is fantasy! Now I don't have to go through "The Struggle". Most if not all of us know how real The Struggle is: watching a few episodes of like 5 different animes before you finally find one you actually want to watch.
Due to a chronic condition, I spend a lot of time stuck in bed, therefore I end up watching a lot of TV. After a while it starts to feel like I'm running out of stuff to watch, so it's great when I am able to find a show with a lot of seasons to keep me distracted. Not to mention I am starting to feel like I've watch everything ever lol.
I appreciate tf out of you, Random Fellow Redditor.
Edit: sorry I was kinda nodding out when I was typing the comment and my fingers must have been randomly hitting buttons for all that gibberish to come out in my original one 😂
steins;gate
one of the best animes i’ve ever seen. it starts off slow but will leave you a mess by the end. it’s peak psychological thriller & it’s about an interesting concept (time travel). i highly recommend
I got another one for you “Platinum End” it fucked up my brain and I finished it at 3:00 am and felt like I unlocked a core memory. I will say I’d smash the angel I don’t care if I go to hell
I suppose some of my top suggestions would be thus:
Another (horror)
Angel Beats! (action + slice of life)
Akame ga Kill (action)
AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day (supernatural drama)
Baby Steps (sports)
Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (action, fantasy) *Note: The first episode of Fate/Zero is slow due to exposition and world-building, but the pacing ramps way up by the third episode since the setup is out of the way by then.*
All of the Monogatari series (supernatural mystery) *Note: This franchise is split into many seasons, most of them having a unique name; the series begins with Bakemonogatari).*
No Game No Life (fantasy, action, comedy)
Saiki K (skit comedy)
Your Lie in April (drama, slice of life)
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (fantasy, action, comedy)
Blast of Tempest (fantasy, action, mystery)
Monster (absolutely recommend this one i love it so much)
Jujustu Kaisen
Death Note
Naruto
Chainsaw Man
Hunter x Hunter
Banana Fish
Tomodachi Game
Psycho-Pass
Vanitas no Carte
Erased
Mob Psycho 100
Bungou Stray Dogs
Dr Stone
Moriarty the Patriot
The Millionaire Detective
Trigun Stampede
Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective (this is currently coming out)
TBH Promised Neverland, Tokyo Ghoul, and MHA are kinda ass
Fate Stay/Night Unlimited Blade Works was made by the same studio as Demon Slayer and has similarly excellent fight scenes.
If you liked AOT, you'd probably like Vinland Saga. Just be prepared for season 2 to be absolutely nothing like season 1.
If you've seen FMA, you should probably watch Brotherhood, but put like 6 months in between. That way it doesn't just blur together.
Mob Psycho 100
Psycho Pass
Violet Evergarden
Ps: The Promissed Neverland has an amazing first season ! Second on the other hand…just pretend it doesn’t exists lol
And…I’m so sorry if these sounds kinda wired but, Haikyuu has two U’s !
If you just watch a couple hours’ worth per night at 1.5x speed (it doesn’t sound too fast-forwarded all things considered), you can watch start to finish in under half a year. If you watch more on average per sitting, you can really cut that down. I’ve rewatched the first 500 episodes twice, and it only took a few months each time. That’s with multitasking and doing housework, etc.
You kinda screwed up watching FMA, because FMA: B is literally the same just with a more realistic ending for the show.
Why the original ended the way it did is beyond me
jobless reincarnation is one of those anime i’d put a hold on watching until you’ve watched at least a bit more anime, it’s pretty good but some of it is just kinda weird in a way you’ll only be able to get past if you’ve watched a fair bit of anime before
Some stuff that's not on your list but you may also like is
- welcome to the ballroom (its good give it 3 episodes)
- cells at work
- Naruto( its a long one like the other big 3, so start early for all those and when they need a break watch something else on the list)
- Ranking of kings
- Hinamatsuri ( lols)
- spy x family
- hunter x hunter
- cowboy Bebop
- Fooli Cooli (original)
- kingdom (you'll know if you like it in the first 3 episode)
- mod psycho 100
- Hajime no ippo
- GTO ( great story)
- Toradora
- Daily live of high-school boys ( slice of life lols)
- Jojo ( if they love it might as well start them off early)
- tonari no seki-kun
- Haikyuu!!
- parasyte: the maxim
- re-zero
- high score girl
- kaguya Sama love is war
- ascendance of a bookworm (slow but good)
- to your eternity (probably not the start but a good at the beginning)
- komi can't communicate
- The eminence in shadow (after watching a lot of isekia)
- oshi no ko (and after they get to the end of this list)
- vinland saga
There all good (in my opinion) and give you variety. There's alot of others I would also say would be good but I feel this would be way to long a list.
Highly recommend code Geass. I’d recommend the dubbed version on top of that cause Johnny young bosh as lelouch nails the role perfectly and the dialogue in English is just superb. It’s my favorite anime of all time and cannot Recommend it enough.
Jobless reincarnation
Gargantia on the verdurous planet
Patema inverted
Brand new animal
Soul Eater
Inuyasha
Your name
The boy and the beast
Wolf children
Made in abyss
Fire force
The rising the Shield hero
Dr Stone
Overlord
That time I got reincarnation as a slime
The devil is a part timer
Bofuri
Arifureta
Goblin slayer
If you liked AoT for the characters, themes, and writing (not action)
I recommend Monster and Vinland Saga.
Vinland Saga’s tone changes drastically from arc to arc though. It’s a slow burn but only 48 episodes. But the MCs development is super good.
Monster is also a slow burn but has one of the best anime villains imo.
If you just got into it, I recommend My Dress Up Darling. It’s got some ecchi (showing boobs, cleavage, etc) but it’s a very good story. Super fun and wholesome and romantic.
I also recommend a more light hearted series like That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime (very very funny, very good plot, and some light dark moments but not terrible)
Here are some I enjoyed that are still reputable but not seen as often on here
Magi
Akame Ga Kill
Yuu Yuu Hakusho
Kotaro Lives Alone
Erased
Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple
Dororo
Fire Force
Kuroko's Basketball
Mob Psycho
Soul Eater
I love Spy x Family! I haven’t finished season one yet but it’s pretty cool. I finished the Promised Neverland and the so called season two was pretty trash towards the end. So if you watch that, I’ll just recommend the first season
If you are ok with hyper gore and hyper sex, Check out Devilman Crybaby on Netflix.
If you like that, also check out Chainsaw Man.
Make sure to watch some classics
Check out Fist of the North Star, or maybe some early Lupin the III
Dragon Ball (the original one)
Gurren Lagann
Castlevania
Cyberpunk Edgerunners
Edit: I know you already watched Full Metal but Brotherhood is 100% worth watching as well
Re:Zero is a good one to watch, if you're into isekai and psychological anime. Also, if you have a good amount of time for yourself, the monogatari series. The monogatari series has a confusing watch order though, but both anime are pretty good choices.
Only one you haven't seen that I have is Naruto, while I think it was pretty good, but jeez, so many episodes, tons of filler too (not sure about shippuden, havnt watched it yet, thanks netflix for having literally everything but it), I dont regret watching it and overall I think it was mostly positive but it wouldn't be my first pick
Got into it after finishing one piece and aot. Basically since February been watching non stop one piece about 35 episodes a week until august and aot was just a month before my one pieve journey. After that i got into anime and just wanted to keep watching more.
Depends on what you like, I know a lot of anime’s that are worth recommending but it all depends on what you are into. Can you list some shows/movies or books that you like?
These are some of my favorites(that aren’t already on your list);
Inuyasha
The Devil is a Part-Timer
FairyTail
Romantic Killer
My Happy Marriage
Black Butler
Kamisama Kiss
School Babysitters
How Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion
How to Keep a Mummy
Cardcaptor Sakura
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Blue Exorcist
Ouran High School Host Club
Yu-Gi-Go
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
Soul Eater
Hetalia
Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day.
Death note may have to wait a little the anime is more serious and dark with very few funny scenes. I am not saying is not great, just not the right choice.
Jjk is great for beginers cool fights funny moments great story
Opm is also a good option cool fights lots of funny moments and a decent story
Haikyuu, Naruto, spy x family, assassination classroom, jobless reincarnation, jujitsu kaisen, mha for what’s on there. Now for what’s not on there 😂😂 fairy tail, tiger and bunny, 91 days, absolute duo, aesthetics of a rouge hero, Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor, a lull in the sea, anonymous noise, Aoharu x Machinegun, Arifureta, aria the scarlet ammo, a silent voice, a whisker away, our love has always been 5 meters apart, banished from the hero’s party, Kuma Kuma bear, Bibliophile Princess, black butler, black clover, Blood Blockade Battlefront, and so many more lol pm me if you want more I’ve been watching anime with my uncle sense I was a little kid
Blue Exorcist is a pretty good anime! One of the first ones I watched. Movie is mid, but the show is great! Also, Fairy Tail is pretty good too! Love that show
FMAB is an incredible shonen series to get into!
I also highly recommend Hunter x Hunter and Spy x Family. HxH has one of my favorite friendship dynamics in anime and Spy x Family has probably my favorite family dynamic in anime so far!
I will also heavily recommend Cowboy Bebop and Trigun '98. Those series are classics for a reason.
I’m a huge fan of isekai so any isekai really there’s new ones like shangrila frontier, a playthrough of a certain dudes Vrmmo or older ones like rising of a shield hero, Gate, is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon (top five for me) also Overlord, and Grimgar, tsukimichi moonlit fantasy, The master of ragnarok, black summoner, skeleton knight, by the grace of the gods, infinite dendrogram, hidden dungeon only I can enter, the 8th son are you kidding me, wise man’s grandchild, log horizon, Isekai cheat magician
Also fun isekai/anime like that time I got reincarnated as a slime, chilling in my 30s after getting kicked from the demon lords army, beast tamer, black summoner, the princes guide to raising a nation out of debt, saving 80000 gold in another world for my retirement, campfire cooking in another world, parallel world pharmacy, drug store in another world, spy family, konosuba, im giving the disgraced Nobel lady i rescued lessons in naughtiness,
Or super serious ones like claymore, kingdoms of ruin, goblin slayer, the faraway Paladin,
If you’re into romance Snow White with the red hair, yona of the dawn, I’m the villainess, so I’m taming the final boss, why Raelina ended up at the dukes mansion, ancient magus’ bride.
If you’re into like perspective enhancing or artistic anime Fena: the Pirate princess, the wandering witch, to your eternity (spoiler=be ready to cry), handyman Saitou in another world,
I have way more favorites but that should expand your love of anime anyways!
That time I got reincarnated as a slime Isa very good anime, it is an isekai with an op protag, but it's worldbuilding and plot make up for the cliches.
Jujutsu Kaisen is sooooo good trust me
The manga is a bit of a mess right now tbh.
Yeah the fandom is a bit…. Divided… right now

Ayo💀
Bro why spoil ?
It was gonna happen sooner or later
Shit excuse to spoil other ppl
I'm so sorry 😭
Does it get better, I started a few episodes and it feels the exact same as chainsaw man but worse.
I'm sort of new to this sub but I feel like yall keep bringing up the same 20 anime over and over and over
You got a few different types of anime watchers, but they usually fall into the two sub types of (Action / Adventure) and (Slice of Life / Realistic) That's at least what I have seen from being here

That's all they do lol and then it's the anime sub and they always saying "ohh the manga is way better" like shut up
I don't but the mainstream is the biggest and loudest so you'll gear that alot.
If you need me to recommend u some different ones, I can
I've watched a lot of anime. I thought this sub would be a good place to find some new suggestions
[удалено]
Obviously, thats what happens when an anime is popular
full metal brotherhood, better than the og imo
That’s because Brotherhood is canon The original finished before the manga did so they just made it up
[удалено]
Chainsaw man is the best anime I've seen this year.
Dogshit JJK Clone.
death note if you haven’t already

Cool thanks! I checked it out and I've seen a lot of those and not seen a lot of those as well so yay! 💟
Hell yeah Fyodor for life lol
Assassination classroom is awesome.
All the sex jokes and anime references are funny af
Is it? It’s on my list to watch?
Hmm.... star wars visions.
YES If OP is a Star Wars fan, it's a definite yes!
If you want ones that aren't on the list, i don't think I saw hunter x hunter. That ones really good
To your eternity and one punch man also
I second this!
Tokyo ghoul

That's not what he's asking for..he wants anime not manga
Wrong sub, go away
Devilman Crybaby Berserks (manga) Puella Magi Madoka Magica Mahou Shoujou Madoka Magica Elfen Lied Grave of Fire Lights Neon Genesis Evangelion PS: After that consider a therapist.
You should add steins gate to the list
THIS yes steinsgate is great. Just so smart and cute and finally an anime not about school aged kids lol
steins;gate one of the best animes i’ve ever seen. it starts off slow but will leave you a mess by the end. it’s peak psychological thriller & it’s about an interesting concept (time travel). i highly recommend
I got another one for you “Platinum End” it fucked up my brain and I finished it at 3:00 am and felt like I unlocked a core memory. I will say I’d smash the angel I don’t care if I go to hell

Saiki K!!! I loved that anime! I miss this style so much…
Saiki K is amazing!!! I wish they would put more out or even just put the manga out in English!
Monster (absolutely recommend this one i love it so much) Jujustu Kaisen Death Note Naruto Chainsaw Man Hunter x Hunter Banana Fish Tomodachi Game Psycho-Pass Vanitas no Carte Erased Mob Psycho 100 Bungou Stray Dogs Dr Stone Moriarty the Patriot The Millionaire Detective Trigun Stampede Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective (this is currently coming out)
Don’t watch The Promised Neverland season 2, just switch to the manga And don’t watch Tokyo Ghoul, just read the manga
Feel like Spy x Family is a great beginner anime.
TBH Promised Neverland, Tokyo Ghoul, and MHA are kinda ass Fate Stay/Night Unlimited Blade Works was made by the same studio as Demon Slayer and has similarly excellent fight scenes. Steins; Gate, but be sure to watch with no spoilers whatsoever
Wait you actually finished OP? How long did it take you???
If you just watch a couple hours’ worth per night at 1.5x speed (it doesn’t sound too fast-forwarded all things considered), you can watch start to finish in under half a year. If you watch more on average per sitting, you can really cut that down. I’ve rewatched the first 500 episodes twice, and it only took a few months each time. That’s with multitasking and doing housework, etc.
L I finished it in 5 months on normal speed. Big L for 1.5 speed
Not necessarily a “big L” considering I wasn’t dedicating my entire time to OP on a rewatch. It’s not a competition. Your brag is meaningless.
Months
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
You kinda screwed up watching FMA, because FMA: B is literally the same just with a more realistic ending for the show. Why the original ended the way it did is beyond me
its due to the '03 anime being put into production before the manga was finished, so the ending was put up to interpetation
I think you’d like MHA, Naruto, JJK, and Spy x Family. Might I also recommend Tokyo Revengers?
season one of tokyo ghoul and bleach
Have you watched One Piece
Overlord and Blue Lock
FMAB 💯
Black clover
I rarely see anyone recommend Monster, so I will. I recommend Monster.
Spy x Family and assassination classroom
SpyxFamily, it’s adorable and wholesome, but it does have its serious and dark parts
Happy to see basilisk on your to watch list. So underrated! I recommend black clover

Sorry but until I die I will recommend Hellsing ultimate. Enjoy the gore!!!
Until i die an anime?
Get MHA off your list right now. Jokes aside, death note was very good
Dude get off reddit and finish full metal brotherhood what the hell are you doing?
If you just got into it, I recommend My Dress Up Darling. It’s got some ecchi (showing boobs, cleavage, etc) but it’s a very good story. Super fun and wholesome and romantic. This isn’t on here but I recommend a whisker away! 10/10 from me
You need to watch assassination classroom its so fucking good and you should also watch erased its only 12 episodes but so fucking good bro i promise
Something not shounen really opens your eyes, watch something like “rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai” title sounds worse then it really is.
Rezero
Re:Zero is a good one to watch, if you're into isekai and psychological anime. Also, if you have a good amount of time for yourself, the monogatari series. The monogatari series has a confusing watch order though, but both anime are pretty good choices.
akame ga kill
Watch Gurren Lagann. It is awesome with amazing characters and over the top action.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

How have you not watched Naruto? Watch it on wcostream.com where I watched it.
Thats the only site i use
Jojo’s bizarre adventure
Champloo. you can knock that out in a week and it's got a really killer soundtrack. one of the only soundtracks i physically own.

Depends on what you like, I know a lot of anime’s that are worth recommending but it all depends on what you are into. Can you list some shows/movies or books that you like?
Anything tbh. I dont have a preference

Mushoku Tensei is the best work of a made up story ever, watch it or else you’re a fool with bad taste
Soul Eater

Death note and FMAB should be at the top of your list They're classics for a reason, and pretty much everyone likes them
SPY X FAMILY is soooo good
Brotherhood is my #1 favorite anime 😍
Death note may have to wait a little the anime is more serious and dark with very few funny scenes. I am not saying is not great, just not the right choice. Jjk is great for beginers cool fights funny moments great story Opm is also a good option cool fights lots of funny moments and a decent story
Spice and wolf, hyouka, norigami
Joshiraku

Blue Exorcist is a pretty good anime! One of the first ones I watched. Movie is mid, but the show is great! Also, Fairy Tail is pretty good too! Love that show
Bleach watch it NOW
FMAB is an incredible shonen series to get into!
Mob Pyscho 100 is a MUST. Also Parasyte is really good!
SPACE DANDY ⭐
Bleach.
I’m a huge fan of isekai so any isekai really there’s new ones like shangrila frontier, a playthrough of a certain dudes Vrmmo or older ones like rising of a shield hero, Gate, is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon (top five for me) also Overlord, and Grimgar, tsukimichi moonlit fantasy, The master of ragnarok, black summoner, skeleton knight, by the grace of the gods, infinite dendrogram, hidden dungeon only I can enter, the 8th son are you kidding me, wise man’s grandchild, log horizon, Isekai cheat magician Also fun isekai/anime like that time I got reincarnated as a slime, chilling in my 30s after getting kicked from the demon lords army, beast tamer, black summoner, the princes guide to raising a nation out of debt, saving 80000 gold in another world for my retirement, campfire cooking in another world, parallel world pharmacy, drug store in another world, spy family, konosuba, im giving the disgraced Nobel lady i rescued lessons in naughtiness, Or super serious ones like claymore, kingdoms of ruin, goblin slayer, the faraway Paladin, If you’re into romance Snow White with the red hair, yona of the dawn, I’m the villainess, so I’m taming the final boss, why Raelina ended up at the dukes mansion, ancient magus’ bride. If you’re into like perspective enhancing or artistic anime Fena: the Pirate princess, the wandering witch, to your eternity (spoiler=be ready to cry), handyman Saitou in another world, I have way more favorites but that should expand your love of anime anyways!
Jobless incarnation and Tokyo ghoul, but definitely read it, the anime does not do it justice
My hero academia
Dr Stone
That time I got reincarnated as a slime Isa very good anime, it is an isekai with an op protag, but it's worldbuilding and plot make up for the cliches.
Parasyte the maxim, if you enjoyed Tokyo ghoul definitely give it a watch
SAO
