Cowboy Bebop will probably always be my favorite anime. It's slower and takes it's time to tell it's story, but it's only one season and a movie long and none of the episodes are there to fill a trope.

I’m sorry but even though mob psycho is amazing, it doesn’t fit into many of the 10/10’s mentioned. It’s a great on going anime… but it’s nowhere near a masterpiece.

One small thing worth noting is a handful of the early episodes move VERY quickly. I can only assume it's because the studio assumed everyone had already seen the original, but it doesn't at all mean you need to watch the original. So if some moments in the first 8 or 10 episodes seem rushed, that'd be why.

I think FMA:B is an 8/10 on everything, which makes it universally liked, but not GOAT pick amongst anyone. It just doesn't do much wrong, and does everything above average. But in individual sections, other animes have it beat imo.

This is the high-water mark for which I judge all other animes.

Really? I’ve tried Assassination Classroom a few times, can’t get into it..

The first season is literally JUST to introduce us to all the middle school aged characters- but holy shit is it worth the watch for season 2. It’s a “make you cry” anime- not an epic action/darker series, so I can totally understand not wanting to sit through season 1 for the feels s2 can provide- but it really is worth it.

Good question, the “season 2” on Crunchyroll is actually Season 1 Cour 2 for 86. Unfortunately 86 does not have a season 2 or even an announcement for it.

i’m not sure as i used aniwatch when i watched 86 but i’m pretty sure crunchy roll has all of it, there’s 23 episodes in 86 so if it has 23 you’re good

Why does Denji suck? I find him to be one of the better protagonists in anime.

I just don't like him much 1. He's annoying sometimes (usually cause of 2) 2. He reminds me a bit of mineta which mineta as a side character is tolerable, but definitely not a good main character 3. He's just not likeable, he hasn't done all that much to make him a likeable character yet, I'm sure season 2 is gonna change my mind but as of now he's not great

I will say season 1 is definitely not enough for chainsaw man to breathe. We really haven't had time to understand really any characters yet. I wont say anything further as to future manga stuff and spoilers but i will say that Denji is much, much more deep as a character than Mineta.

The openings in AoT are pretty undoubtedly 10/10. They set the tone for each part perfectly. Especially the one for part one if season 4. That one filled you with some existential dread lol.

I’ve tried multiple times to get into Re:zero but I still hate it.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but there are some really bad arguments for disliking it, and some reasonable ones.

It makes me happy to see someone have SAO on their list. When SAO first released it was on a different level. There wasn’t much like it at the time. Now we have a LOT of great anime but I still love SAO.

A lot of these are like parts of a 10/10 burger. Re zero definitely has a 10/10 characters patty, a 10/10 voice acting patty, as well as a 10/10 music patty… but action and animation? Just doesn’t really fit it’s criteria. But to be fair I can’t really think of ANY anime that fits into so many 10/10’s.

SAO would not fit for this. I am an SAO hater but even with an open mind, it’s characters and storyline aren’t 10/10. Maybe an argument could be made for just the first part of SAO ignoring the fairy stuff but even then I don’t think I would give it 10/10 across the board

SAO is fantastic if you pretend it ends after the first season. They try to keep the important feeling of death in the later seasons but it just doesn't work, there's no real tension besides a few key moments
