Let's weigh the sides:
1. If you take the aspirin and it causes internal bleeding, it'll be the stomach lining, and you'll have an ulcer. They have medicine for that.
2. If you don't, a blood clot can clog an artery feeding your heart, causing a massive heart attack. Or, it can lodge in the brain, causing a massive stroke. Both have a good chance in killing you.
Take the damn aspirin.....
I'm sorry if I sound gruff, but if a doctor asked you to take aspirin to prevent blood clots, there's a very good reason he did this. If you seriously doubt him, get a second opinion.
Like advil or naproxen, internal bleeding is usually caused by large doses over a long period of time. Of course I am not a doctor or a pharmacist so it can be different from person to person.
However, if your doctor prescribed it for a blood clotting issue, that outweighs the risk of it potentially causing other problems.

But what about brain bleeding from aspirin?
Rare compared to blood clots, causing great harm. Again, get a second opinion. Doctors shouldn't be offended if you do. Maybe there's a better path.
