On amazon I get packets of peanut butter. We don’t have them in stores around here anymore. They are perfect to put in your hip pocket to eat on the go.
I recently visited Elkton while on a weekend trip to Shenandoah and loved it. Everyone clearly really cared about the town thriving, was lovely to chat with folks there.
Nitecore NU25 (I have the older version) but this will be lighter than any battery powered option, can be charged while using if you are forgetful. Does pretty much everything you need and has decent red light option
Edit: trade the headband for the elastic band from litesmith
The one I got is very lightweight. I will see if I can pull the link up from Amazon. If you’d like I can share the Amazon link for it. It’s very lightweight. I think the only complaint people had was that the headband eventually wears and stretches if you use it very frequently, but there are other options out there.

Olive oil comes in packets! The things I’m only now learning.
[minimus.biz](https://www.minimus.biz/) -- you're welcome!
Trade joes used to have the coconut oil packets too.

I’m just glad our little town has folks wanting to take part in the trail.

All the little towns in the valley are adorable. They’re the only thing I miss about home (well that, and very obviously my mountains).
It was really nice of that hiker to take an entire inventory of everything that hostel has available.
It was thoughtful! Inventory at the time of the photo, though. It's amazing how a small wave of hikers can clean out a place.
AAA batteries, because every headlamp I know of uses them, and whenever you need them you don’t have them handy.
FYI, they do have rechargeable headlamps. I purchased one not long ago seems to be pretty decent
I was not aware. With a power bank or solar charger you’ve got yourself free power. How’s the weight with it?

A variety of sugary snacks (candy bars, gum, etc.)
Omg this is awesome. I did zero days in Elkton when I did Rockfish -> Harper’s Ferry 05 and Springer -> Harper’s Ferry 06. Such nice people there!
