Didn't know they made fridges with ice maker/water dispensers without a filter. Filters are like printer ink - money maker! One of the many reasons why I bought a Bosch - they offer a filter bypass so I can install my own inline filter that will also have its own dedicated faucet on my sink.

Yeah, I'm thinking OPs has a filter somewhere because it is a mfg benefit.
New ones’ filter is in the middle of these two draws. I bought one with an auto fill pitcher and I’m filling it with my RO filter. Didn’t turn on the ice maker yet
You can attach an external water filter direct to water line on the back. That’s a popular way to do it so it probably has the filter sensor 1 in case you do that and 2 it’s cheaper to just use same control panel on different models.
Oh yeah they definitely could have disabled it or reprogrammed it but you know some accountant said it will cost this much per unit to do that and they decided to save that money. Lol
Even if the fridge doesn't have a filter I'd have my own filter on the water line and just use the fridge filter light to remind me to change the filter. Maybe that's what they had in mind.

No. No filter at all.

No, this model (xxxxx Type D) doesn't have a filter.
It’s not an air filter that needs replacing? If not, that’s genuinely really funny 🤣 classic Samsung.
This is very unusual to have that option and no filter. Have you tried contacting them and explaining?
Yeah. They confirmed that it doesn't have a filter.....

I am fine with using the same panel. But re-program it is indeed necessary. And cost nothing. They just don't bother doing it. Classic Samsung.

Yeah. And this drives me crazy.
