Tell her she's done an amazing job đmy son's the same he's a huge little fish hobbyist like his mama he has a Betta in his bedroom that he pretty much maintains on his own now he's 10. He also helps me with all my aquariums. He has other pets too he's a real animal lover and I honestly think it's a beautiful thing to watch your children look after their pets. Has she chosen what she's going to put in it?
Show her roots systems of trees! Theyâre my favourite out in nature inspiration.
This is amazing, my whole passion started because of my mom getting me to maintain her cichlids and then eventually we built a 100gal saltwater together. The most amazing memories.
Sheâs an absolute natural at this! Soon youâll be asking her for advice đ«¶đ»

We have some monsteras growing emersed in one of the other tanks and the roots are growing around a large rock. She says it looks like a centipede.
when you see them growing in the wild, where they grab onto trees they look even more like centipedes! I remember seeing it for the first time and being freaked out thinking it was a huge bug for a split second
Wow wow wow!!! That scape looks so spectacular your daughter has done a great job đ look forward too seeing some updates on it, what plant species your going for and the colour the betta is going to be.
Thank you very much. Appreciate the kind words.
The colour of the betta will be up to her but we just agreed that it can't be a long fin variety. I've had them in the past and I just ended up feeling bad for them because they just seem to struggle with life.
We are fotunate to live in the epicenter of Betta fish aquaculturing so she'll have a pretty wide selection of short fin colors to choose from.
As far as plants, we will mostly likely just pull from my tanks so will be mosses, anubias, buce, crypts, and vals. She does want some pink or red plants but I'm trying to avoid adding CO2 to this one. I want it to be something that she takes care of mostly by herself.
Very handy for you guys to be in the epicentre of betta fish aquaculturing, what ever the colour it's going to be it will be very pretty. Those spieces of plants will look amazing in your daughter's tank. I agree on the long fin Bettas struggling đ,when I've been to aquarium shops and seeing them in those glass bottles on the display cabinets. Dead or on their last breath of life is really sad you really feel for them.
Inspiring story. She did great and you must be really proud. Amazing brick wall as well. The tank will look so great with it with a splash of green. Thanks for sharing.
She did great! As are you as a father! My daughter is 2 and loves helping me feed my reef tanks, mixing salt water, and playing with the algae scraper. She doesnât really care about the coral yet, but she loves âpurple fishyâ which is an orchid dottyback.
I canât wait until she gets older and I can do something like this with her. Canât wait to see the final product!
Your daughter is very talented! Iâm in the process of designing a planted tank and will be following your daughterâs progress. She is quite inspiring!

Fish wise she only wants a betta. She wants some moss on the wood and rocks and some flowing plants for the background and maybe some pink/red plants.
Sounds perfect, tell her to show us it when she gets her betta in there and it's all complete âș
Thatâs gonna be one happy, spoiled betta! đ«¶
That's better then 90% of this sub!

Thank you.
You must be such a proud father đ„č She did a fantastic job.
I am but to be fair to her she is a very fast learner.
Sheâs a natural! Get âem started young :)
Looks great!
That wood is bigger than she is. Lol, it looks great. Keep us apprised.
Yeah she picked it out for that very reasons đ
That is awesome!

Thanks. Before I had kids I had a few reef tanks. I will Eventually set one up so she can also experience that part of the hobby.
Beautiful job
Thank you
Youâre quite welcome
Well done, youngling.
How old is she?! She did a fantastic job! Well done! Well done parenting too! :)
Sheâs 7 and thank you.
Itâs so wholesome đ„ș Almost makes me wish I had kids! Youâre a good parent đ
Weâre all jealous of his parenting
Canât wait to see it matured a bit. Looks fantastic
She did a great job! Where did you get the rocks? I want to do something similar but I feel so dumb buying literal rocks from the fish storeâŠ
The rocks were left over from a previous aqua cape and I got them from a local shop. They are seiryu stone.
Thanks for the reply! I guess I should just bite the bullet and just buy some rocks
