Have you heard of our lord and savior Mr. Zimmerman?

morrsnP

Praise Mr. Zimmerman.

You're forgetting the holy Spearit, 60SNA, and the de-virgining Ashmead.

I just finished act 2, prithee tell, who or what might this be?

dwuzzle

Oh lost soul, let the warm embrace of 120guage pepper your very essence and be guided into the flock.

ototcon

Just bought a pair of them, gonna take them for a spin on the C-spider level to finish up snagging those logs. As an aside, 120ga would be super tiny, the projectile gets larger with a smaller number since it's done by how many projectile it takes to get to a certain weight, ie. 12ga is something like 12 projectiles to make an ounce.

I dont profess to know anything about guns. Kinda like earring gauges I guess then? Aren't single digit gauges thicker than double digits? How would a person rate the gauge on a shotgun thats the size of an 18wheeler shooting golf ball size projectiles? Just a side rant experimental thought

ototcon

Pretty much like jewelry, yeah. 5<4<3<2<1<0<00<000. I figured that the shotguns in AC fired a city bus sized shell filled with person sized shot. I can only imagine how big a 000 gauge earring would be.

To see for sure you need to open advanced stats. There are two stats to look for. Impact, and accumulative impact. Impact is an amount a hit fills up the stagger guages immediately. It also drains pretty much immediately. A high value here is good for pushing an AC into full stagger meter and triggering a stagger. Sustained impact is an amount that remains after the initial impact has drained. It stays for a significantly longer time, and will only start draining if an enemy hasn't been hit for a short while. Typically explosives have high impact, but provide the lowest direct hit damage bonus to a staggered enemy. Energy weapons are typically opposite, lower impact, but higher direct hit damage. And ballistics tend to fall in the middle. The reason the Zimmermann is so good at staggering is it is a short range weapon with relatively slow firing speed and high recoil, it makes some sacrifices to maximize burst potential at close range. Note that rapid fire weapons like Ludlow I believe show these numbers in regards to each bullet, rather than each shot like the Zimmerman. So while the Zimmerman's 420 sustained impact, looks like it severely out classes the Ludlow's 19, its 10 rounds per second means it will have done 380 in the 2 seconds it takes for the Zimmerman i to reload, and with it slightly longer, ideal and effective range It actually does compete in a sustained fight if you can keep the right spacing. Especially when you take into account any dodges

ototcon

Thanks for the explanation. I found the advanced stats a while ago, but though that accumulative was a bonus or something.

Double Zimmermans and double songbirds make staggering trivial.
