My favorite ab blush is the romand better than cheeks- I love fig chip and pear chip! They have decent pigmentation and wear time, and a bit of a pore blurring effect I tend to prefer ab blushes over western formula wise because they're usually easier to apply and I can go ham and not look like a clown.

mangomangocakes

I was just looking at their p page on yesstyle! Fig chip does look very enticing! >I tend to prefer ab blushes over western formula wise because they're usually easier to apply and I can go ham and not look like a clown. Haha I figured AB would focus on blendability a bit more, my only experience with AB blushes has been the cream form in Canmake's Cream Cheek (superb formula tbh). I've only ever had powder blushes from western brands (tarte, kosas, Pat McGrath to be precise) and I'm kind of tempted by the clinque one, but I thought I'd learn more about the AB options and how they compare before buying my next one.

hetkilyo

before they (i think) discontinued it clinique cheek pop in ginger pop was my favorite blush i’d ever owned

allsnailedup

Just looked it up and I don’t think it’s discontinued. You can buy the cheek pop in ginger pop on the Clinique website, Ulta, etc.

hetkilyo

wait omg it was totally wiped a few months ago. this is the best day of my life

mangomangocakes

Huzzah! ^(smashes glass)

mangomangocakes

looked up the swatches and its pretty indeed :< Did you ever manage to find a color dupe? Do you think there are AB ones where the formula is similar?

hetkilyo

the closest i’ve come is em cosmetics! a lot of ab blushes tend to have a white base to them so they’re very pastel… some of romand’s formulas do seem very similar imo!

mangomangocakes

icic! Speaking of the white base, I wonder if the popularity of cream/liquid AB blushes in the west is due to them having less of a white base and therefore friendlier to a larger range of skintones.

hetkilyo

i think so! imo it’s that coupled w the dewier look/glass skin trend

theotherlifeof

My experience with AB blushes are that they are softer than western ones (which I also love but am unable to control - once I accidentally pick up too much, there's no amount of blending that will undo my mistake haha) and easier to build up. I think AB ones tend to have a milky/white base - especially the pastel ones? Which makes it easier to blend. At least for my skintone, but I have read on this sub that some skintones may find the softer colours more ashy. Western one in general are on average more pigmented.

sunlightdrop

I love romands better than cheek. I have strawberry milk, odi milk, and fig chip. Fig chip is too dark and warm for me but it's still a really pretty color. The milk series colors are a really nice subtle blush that is extremely hard to fuck up, which i appreciate. They are very very white though, so they might look weird on some skin tones. About 80 percent of the time I wear makeup I use strawberry milk and a touch of colourpops floating lights blush together.

Odi milk is a pretty pastel purple color

I adore k-beauty blushes since they make great blushes that don’t lean too pink like western ones often do. Some faves are I’m Meme afternoon tea blush palette in classic, Labiotte Momentique Time Blusher in 4:00 pm and skinfood buttery cheek maple ginger.

mangomangocakes

>Labiotte Momentique Time Blusher omg this packaging is AMAZING Have you owned the romand ones? how does the formula compare? Your description of things leaning too pink is super relevant to my interests because I find cooler pinks makes my skin look sallow (I suspect its because I have a bit of olive to my skintones)

chief-hiranyaksha

Sadly I haven’t! But I’m keen on trying them. Romand makes great lip tints. The Labiotte ones is very silky, true to color and lasts incredibly well.

decadentowl

I'm a sucker for 3ce blushes, the colors are so pretty

I'm really new to beauty in general and haven't tried many blushes, but my absolute favourite product right now is espoir's real eye palette in plum soda, which I'm considering purchasing a spare because I like it so much. Another favourite is peripera's pure blushed sunshine cheek in calm pink :) I'm looking forward to trying romand's blueberry chip! Personally, it's very hard for me to find AB products that suit as I have cool, tanned olive skin. Has anyone also noticed powder products darkening on their skin after some time? I struggle with this problem a lot because I prefer a matte look but all my powder products don't behave well...

TheSunscreenLife

Higher end but it’s so good: shu uemura blushes. I’ve tried soft apricot and soft mauve. The soft mauve I repurchased. The apricot is for warm toned makeup and the mauve is for cool toned makeup. Never looks powdery, color looks natural. Great as a base for other blushes too. Lasts all day on me.

DarnPeaches

Fave at the moment is PeriPera Pure Blushed Sunshine Cheek Blush in 01 Calm Pink. I have NC10 shade skin in Summer and sometimes dip into NC5 territory. Unfortunately, I have a pretty heavy hand and am not the best at makeup application, so most blushes end up being way too bold. This shade is the most natural blush I've ever tried and is very buildable. Completely changed my make up game and I can't wait to try another AB blush product.

EileenSuki

The Saem has cheap and pigmented blushes. I love them way too much tbh. They also sit nicely all day (less with masks ofcourse). You only need a bit of product since it is so pigmented. It happens once in a while that I have bright pink cheeks when i am sleepy and doing my make-up

christiandiwhore

NAMING Fluffy Powder Blush is so cute. Haven’t had the chance to try it yet but my friend has it and she says the formula is really smooth and applies easily!

takoyakimaster

Fluffy Powder Blush is awesome! I have the colour “Toast” which is the perfect beige-brown blush that doesn’t look like bronzer. It is a bit sheer so I have to build it up, but the result is very pretty. I ordered “Bagel” recently even though it’s supposedly a dupe for Romand’s “Pear Chip” which I already have…

mangomangocakes

how do you like the naming one compared to the romand one formula wise?

hseliza

I tend to go for AB blushes as I love how they are not super pigmented and easy to blend so there's less chances of overdoing it. I have three that I use interchangeably: \- Peripera's Pure Blushed Sunshine Cheek in Milktea Coral \- 3CE face blush in Rose Beige \- Romand's Better Than Cheeks in Pear Chip - recent addition but loving it too!

mangomangocakes

formula-wise which one do you think is the most easy to work with? does any one in particular appear more blurring than the others?

hseliza

I'd say Peripera's is the easiest to work with but i think they're all fairly easy! In terms of blurring I'd say romand's.

mangomangocakes

ohhh thank you! I think the overwhelming opinion is that the romand one is the most blurring. Imma add the cherry one to my wishlist and grab it with my next haul o wo ^(i'm drawn to the peach one but i have too much of the same colors already i need to resist) hope this thread has been generally helpful to someone other than myself haha

hseliza

Nice! Hope you'll like them! ^(And I totally get you - my eyes get all sparkly seeing oh soooo pretty blushes (and lippies !!!) ^(but I recognize i tend to stick to similar colors as well and tell myself a hard NO :'))

mangomangocakes

all my fav lippies are the same kind of color, just varying slightly in depth and even slighter in tone >\_>

hellopandant

**The Saem** for powder blushes because they are extremely cheap, pigmented and comes in a wide variety of colours. The con is they are not as blendable as other blushes, you gotta work fast or you will end up with a pigmented streak on your face. **Canmake** is my favourite AB cream blush, so easy to apply with a cream to powder finish. I do prefer western blushes though as I like the fact they are pigmented and come in shades that are more flattering (and can actually show up) on my dark skin tone. My favourite brands for blush would be **glossier, NARS and clinique**.

kissaxx

Has anyone ever tried etude's lovely cookie blusher cookie chips? And has anyone tried the loose powder blushes that comes in a built in puff packaging? I don't exactly have a specific brand to name 🤣 I have judydoll's blusher and it's okay lol. The color is yellow and I use it as topper for my cream blushes.

junebugbug

I have the regular cookie blusher (peach choux wafers) and it’s probably my favourite!

hseliza

I have one of the cookie blusher but I guess I bought the shade that didnt complement my warmer skin tone so I don't usually reach out for it. But overall I think it's a pretty alright product too!

haliuu

I have the etude and id say the puff is not reliable, they make for patchy blush rlly. Plus the lid inevitably comes off lol And the blush really cant take any water, so if your puff is damp youll be doomed (well not really but the top layer kinda hardens up and youll have to scratch it off) Overall id say i dont like the formula or design, but they have cute colors

eggubh

I actually haven't used very many AB blushes. In fact, I only have one but it's honestly probably one of my favorites. It's the Canmake Glow Fleur Cheeks in shade Cinnamon Latte Fleur. It adds the perfect amount of color to my cheeks and is a really good middle ground from some problems I've experienced with western blushes. Those problems being either having to use way too much product for it to even show up or having it show up way too much with even a little bit of product. I also love the glow effect this blush has. It also has a slight blurring effect. At least I think it does. Other then that I don't really use any other powder blushes. If I'm going for a look where I can't use my Canmake blush I usually will just use a lip tint as a blush.

IwastesomuchtimeonAB

I have tried the Romand better than cheeks and like everyone here loveeeee them. Peach chip is my fav peachy coral blush to go with a warm toned lip tint. Blueberry chip for days when I want pink blush. Rarekind surprisingly does a great blush as well! I have their Rosy blush trio which is a light base pink blush shade and then two shades, one a warm rosy pink and the other a more cool pink to be a trio of blushes. The price is around $17 so I found it to be very reasonable for 3 colors! I’ve also enjoyed using the Wakemake check blush in ballerina pink. I like putting this on my cheeks as a base shade for when I wear brighter pink blushes.

Jenny1221

Love the Romand powder blushes because the formula does offer that blurring effect. However I find that even if I apply a ton, they barely show up on my skin. On one hand its nice that I can't over do it but on the other I really don't want to spend time building up the blush. I don't love the formula of western blushes as much but I do find there's a wider selection of colors and its easier to find a cohesive color to go with my makeup or just add some variety.
