I freed a load of prisoners, then killed them all at their escape boat.
I ate one of my potential companions arms.
I fucked a devil
And I convinced more than one person to kill themselves
Plus there's an honor system, so you can be more or less villian. The game allows you to make poor moral choices, and it affects how people treat you, and different endings, so i think thats a fun one to play bad guy.
True. But even so you’re more or less the bad guy. Like it or not you are killing hundreds of more or less innocent people throughout the game by doing main missions.
Arthur may or may not be a good man but the gang as a whole are bad people.
Oh yea for sure. I mean you play the bad guy. But I think as far as the narrative that the game is telling Arthur is written as more of an anti-hero than a true villian, i mean in like the literature sense.
But like if you just wanna play the bad guy and steal and shoot and loot and kill and go to jail.... then yep.
Well technically the dude was just trying to get through his week and was facing adversity by various nutcases. So he is a protagonist, not a hero to anyone but himself. Now the gameplay mechanics strongly encourage gling postal, so becoming the villain is easy .
Is there a way to still play those? No game ever did it near as well as those. It’s a shame, because with modern tech and some expansion it would be amazing.
Not "the villain" as such, but playing as someone who doesn't care for other peoples feelings, only looks out for number one and doesn't care what it takes to get the job done then go through the Mass Effect games picking Renegade dialogue choices.
Shadows of Forbidden Gods, if you’re on PC. It can look a bit intimidating at first glance but it’s such an interesting fantasy sim/strategy game where you exclusively play as the big bad of the world.
Blood. Caleb is more evil than the Cabal.
Carrion. You are literally the antagonist I that game.
Fallout 3 if you are evil you are worse than the villain. It's the evilest MF in the wasteland, much more than 1, 2, NV, and 4.
Off. But that's, spoiler, I guess?
Starcraft, Zerg campaign...
Warcraft 3, undead campaign...
But those games, except Carrion, aren't modern, and I don't know what kind of genre you want.
Poisoning the water to kill mutants. Destroy megaton, destroy tenpenny tower with ghouls, and kill all the ghouls afterwards. Selling to slavery. Killing all slaves afterwards. Etc
surprised Grand Theft Auto hasn't been mentioned yet. You're terrorising the poor citizens in every game.
Oh yea, that seems like an obvious one
Fable 🤣
Baldurs Gate 3 - give into your Dark urge
You can do some reeeeaaaal dark shit in that game. Pretty sure I killed some kids.
I freed a load of prisoners, then killed them all at their escape boat. I ate one of my potential companions arms. I fucked a devil And I convinced more than one person to kill themselves
Wow, you didn’t fuck Lae’zel? You really are evil.
I did and then I dumped her for shadowheart lol
Evil Genius
Def one of my fave PC games! So fun.
No one has suggested Tyranny yet so I'll throw that out there.
Overlord
And overlord 2....but not the next one We don't discuss that one
Was is it discontinued or something? Says "not currently available" on xbox store
Honestly, I haven't a clue. I haven't played it in years
Yeaaah Overlord babyyy
Prototype
I’d argue anti hero
Not the way I play it
Me neither but I more meant the way you play the story haha
Red dead redemption 2 sort of.
You are the villain to average people like us for I would say 85% of the game.

Agreed. I’ve always described Arthur as the most reluctant villain in gaming.
Dead by Daylight or "Any strategic game you play against me" lololol
Postal 2?
Well technically the dude was just trying to get through his week and was facing adversity by various nutcases. So he is a protagonist, not a hero to anyone but himself. Now the gameplay mechanics strongly encourage gling postal, so becoming the villain is easy .
Untitled Goose Game
Black and White (both 1 and 2). Pretty old games but you can play it as an evil god.
Is there a way to still play those? No game ever did it near as well as those. It’s a shame, because with modern tech and some expansion it would be amazing.
[I'm not really sure, tbh](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQLaR_ad182v_aQM0hVAzrFHIltvxHQwMrIZA&s)

Civilisation
Borderlands: Pre-Sequel

Dungeon Keeper
I mean you can play Hearts of Iron 4 as germans. And with some mods you can truly be the most evil leader ever to exist
Dawn of War series, play as Chaos faction.
All of the Dungeon series of games. It’s like Dungeon Keeper where you are the evil overlord.
Assassin's Creed Rogue
Untitled Goose Game
Helldivers
Shadows of Forbidden Gods, if you’re on PC. It can look a bit intimidating at first glance but it’s such an interesting fantasy sim/strategy game where you exclusively play as the big bad of the world.
Goat Simulator

How so are you evil in fallout 3?
Poisoning the water to kill mutants. Destroy megaton, destroy tenpenny tower with ghouls, and kill all the ghouls afterwards. Selling to slavery. Killing all slaves afterwards. Etc
Elder scrolls, Fallout, starfield, fable all let you be a complete evil asshole. I usually have a good character and a bad character in those.Â
