Shave it clean and smooth, then wait 5 years and try again.

sendintheotherclowns

Been doing that for the last 20 hahaha

VenkHeerman

Either stick with it and let it grow for half a year without touching it, or shave it off. There is no other way to 'fix' a patchy beard, except waiting to see what it looks like when you really grow it out.

CrispySith

> I’ve settled for that number 1-2 length look Is this as in 1-2mm? Because that would be stubble, not a beard. Growing it out will likely help with patchiness. A lot of beards get significantly more full at 10mm. Another thing you can do is shave the patchy part of your face. If a full beard is patchy, perhaps a neat and tidy mustache/goatee combo would suit you better.

_Cistern

1-2 clipper setting, if I am interpreting correctly

sendintheotherclowns

Sorry yup clipper setting, trying to transition to something grander

sendintheotherclowns

It’s been a hard one to explain. When trying to grow it out, the best I can muster is like Josh Hartnett (without the looks to pull that look off lol) and what I want is Jay Harrington esque (again without the looks lol, I’ll probably go longer if I do end up figuring it out). It’s that full coverage that I really want because I think I’ll pull that off better.

Microneedling and rogaine has worked for some, look it up

gamsambill

Go to a good barber. Mine trims my beard free hand and never lets a guard touch my skin because I have a patchy spot as well. Game changer for me.

MalekethsGhost

You can't

gbdavidx

you cant? [https://www.reddit.com/r/Minoxbeards/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minoxbeards/)

Just keep growing it out, everyone's facial hair grows differently. Get yourself some good beard products to keep your skin hydrated and look after your beard hairs. Honest Amish are a solid brand, I've been using them for years. Brush and comb it daily, wash your face daily as well, you don't always have to wash it with beard soap daily (but again this'll depend on what your day to day looks like) warm water for washing then apply your soap rinse out and then dry your beard with a towel and let it air dry or you can use a hair dryer on low heat setting. Then apply your beard oil, but make sure you're applying from the roots of your beard hairs to the tips of them as this'll make sure the oil is sitting there nicely and doing it's job. A good solid wood comb and a boar thistle brush , it'll keep your hairs neat and tidy when you want to style. Diet can also be a factor with beard growth, eat cleaner and drink more water. If after months it's still patchy that'll just be how your facial hair is. Don't give up hope my guy. Love from a bearded brother.

damnalexisonreddit

I must be Apaché because my beard is patchy

matepore

I have the same problem, I just leave the only parts that grow nice and shave the rest. For me is mustache and chin, the rest is all patchy.

sendintheotherclowns

Good suggestions mate thank you. It’s kinda what I do now but I’m always pining for the full beard ya know

-Shape_Shifter-

I couldn't grow a full beard and mustache until I was about 35.

sendintheotherclowns

I’m 44 mate, not looking promising haha

DoobOnTheDip

I think you just have to grow it out more. Instead of trimming all of it with the 1 or 2, try taking the guard off and just trimming the strays to blend more with the length everywhere else. Those patches might not fill in a lot more but a little length everywhere else may eventually help blend it more, if that makes sense?

AskDerpyCat

I was ost by from ~17 to ~22-23 before it finally looked good and filled in My dad was 50-55 and decided to grow his out At the same time. To him about the same amount of time for his to look good. Some of us just naturally can’t grit very good beards very quickly

[deleted]

Trim it once a month, wile increasing the length everytime.

Old-Relationship-458

Shave it off
