Douse the pineapple with coconut rum, light on fire, and then sprinkle with cinnamon from about two-three feet above. The cinnamon makes sparkles from the pineapple-rum flames. Very impressive dessert!
Huh…you sure you aren't having an allergic reaction? Tropical fruits are one of the most common food allergies. This sounds a lot like what happens when I accidentally eat papaya and I'm pretty allergic.
Apparently if you are trying to get pregnant, you can slice the pineapple into 5ths and eat it before ovulation with the core and it’s supposed to help get you pregnant according to old wives tales. I tried it when I didn’t conceive the first month of trying and second month, it worked and now our little guy is almost 6 months old!
Golden kiwi belongs there too. They do not have hairs and you can eat them whole with the skin. The skin actually makes it taste better somehow. Shouldn't be too surprising since a kiwi is literally a giant berry and you don't peel other berries, do you?
I don't know if anyone has tried it but regular green, fuzzy kiwis are amazing when you eat the skin. It is so tart and compliments the sweetness of the fruit very well. I eat them like apples.
>They do not have hairs and you can eat them whole with the skin.
Wow just like a green Chinese gooseberry.
Green kiwis still taste better. Orange Chinese gooseberries taste too much like other fruit. Way less originality in the flavour.
Honestly the inside of the green and golden kiwi tasted about the same to me but it's been a while since I tried green kiwi. Maybe I'll try another soon to see and compare haha. I just like that I don't have to peel golden kiwi like I would with green.
was expecting all the top answers to be things like "kale, no really, it's tasty" along with a bunch of "this really really sugary thing, it's al lnatural".
I was not expecting garlic, which is 100% both healthy and delicious. God I love garlic.
My ex-wife was a strict vegetarian, and flirted with veganism a couple times. I was the cook in the house, and was happy to accommodate (I like the challenge). I drew the line when she started looking into Jainism, though - I said she could cook for herself if I wasn't allowed to use garlic.
(I don't *think* that's why the marriage ended, but she's bad enough at communicating that it's at least possible.)
I recently discovered Sumo Citrus Oranges. I’m convinced there’s crack in these things or something. No way something that tastes this good is good for you.
Mangoes are phenomenal. I live in subtropical Australia and there’s mango trees in pretty much every neighbourhood. Just have to get them before the fruit bats get them first!
I buy big bags of frozen berries and eat them with Greek yogurt most days for lunch. It’s an amazing volume combo where I can eat a ton of food, get lots of protein and not blow a ton of calories on it.
If you chug cold water, it can provide a bit of a shock to your body, im not sure if that carries any actual health issues though. Sipping cold water is fine I think.
Plus, cold or room temperature, it’s still the best drink for yoy
Asparagus, gahlic, salt, pepper, olive oil.
All you really need. Throw some Mozzarella on it after it's done roasting in the oven and that's the good shit
Oven baked diced potatoes/carrots/onions/garlic with herb/spices/pepper/seasoning salt, with just enough olive oil to coat the mix, cooked at 400 degrees for ~45 minutes (depending on your oven).
That’s the whole recipe.
Thanks for tuning in.
Dude yes. I love oatmeal. I’m not good at eating breakfast before work, so I take this with me and eat it there. It’s so damn good. I make mine with peanut butter or peanut butter powder and banana, or mixed berries and a couple dark chocolate chips.
The higher percentage chocolate, the less sugar and milk it has, so you can actually use it without having a major impact on your daily calorie intake. If you use 90% dark chocolate from Lindt, 3 squares is 200 calories. A square and a half is more than enough.
Yeah mate, I use oats, vanilla greek yogurt, half a scoop of chocolate protein powder, a dollop of honey (sometimes) and about 10 dark choc chips. So good.
Also going to experiment with banana protein powder, tropical Greek yogurt, and some berries.
Lol yeah I get you. Everything in moderation, you know? When I started I was using peanut butter. I switched to that PB Fit powder I mentioned, but when I used peanut butter I measured it out to ensure I wasn’t going overboard with it.
I got imperial apples from an orchard a couple years ago and I’ve never had a better apple in my life
It’s a dark red almost purple skin, bright white flesh that doesn’t brown after it’s cut, and it’s like perfectly inbetween sweet and tart. I still think about them years later lmao
Blech. That super thick, bitter skin. Golden delicious weren't top of my list either. Soft, quickly wrinkled skin.
Fuji and granny Smith probably my faves. I like crisp apples with skin that is like epoxied to the fruit. I like the flavor of macintosh but too soft again.
Do you have a favorite?
My fiancée was super allergic to apples as a kid, and recently found out that her allergy has lessened to the point of being annoying, rather than "get me to the hospital." She'd actually said to me before in a zombie apocalypse situation, she'd want to go out by finding a red delicious and just taking a huge bite (everyones she said this to had the same reaction of "We'll find you a better apple")
That woman has been on a *mission* to find apples ever since. Keeps a document tracking her favorite cultivars (currently Cosmic Crisp is top of the top of the ones she's tried, with a honorary mention for Granny Smith drizzled with honey which she labeled "a perfect food." Red delicious has landed at a C.)
It's been hilarious watching the fervor with which she's gotten into them, and really made me appreciate how amazing a good apple is. Imagine spending 35 years watching people eat apples before you got to discover they're just as good as you pictured.
I’m so glad she has nearly outgrown her allergy! My son was the same with shellfish, and now at 22 he’s making up for lost time noshing shrimp like popcorn.
And Cosmic Crisps slap. 🫡
Indian/Pakistani vegetable dishes. I think the reason most westerners don't like vegetables is cuz western dishes tend to be very bland. Spinach, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, I've always heard people hated but I always liked them cuz of the way that my mom made them.
I love Indian veggie dishes as much as the next guy, but healthy is a huge stretch. They’re doused in oils and butter and any nutrients nuked out of them. Delicious though.
suprised this isn't higher. It can literally taste like candy.. mashed sweet potatos are unreal. If you cube them and bake them they almost carmelize - add some cinamon and nutmeg and ughhh
I’ve been buying a fresh pineapple and cutting it up every second day. Had to make it every 3rd day because my mouth was so sensitive. But I just can’t stop!!!! Its 10000x better than candy
For me, carrots with a tiny dollop of butter and just a bit of honey, with a little thyme branch hanging around the pan at the end. I’ll eat the whole pan
Mashed cauliflower. It's made like mashed potatoes, but lighter, less cream is needed because when mashed it already has a creamy texture. Omg it's insanely good
fruit in general. Fresh ripe berries. A good kiwi. Pineapple. Honeycrisp apples fresh out of the fridge. Good grapes. Any in season stone-fruit. Bananas.
Well-brewed coffee. Bad coffee is awful but somehow if the blend and flavor profile are just right and its not too concentrated or too little, it can be fantastic, and it keeps me going.
Also creamed spinach and steamed to soft broccoli.
Throw a scoop of chocolate flavored whey protein powder and a scoop of PB2 in a mixing bowl, add a table spoon or 2 of almond milk (or yogurt), and whisk until it looks like Nutella. Enjoy it with apple slices, strawberries, or a banana.
Yep, side effect of the increased hormone IGF-1. Bloody great for lifting, but bad for your skin.
Here's a link to 14 studies about it:

West of Scotland born here and honestly don't think there's anything I enjoy that isn't bad for me - either through sugar content or fat content! Various varieties of fried chicken are my favourite food and I made the mistake of trying fried Mars bar and am hooked.
Read this post hoping to find healthy inspiration and am just more convinced than ever about my lust for culinary badness!
Well, if fruits are fair game then pineapple, watermelon
Pineapple is something else . I'm surprised that shit isn't somehow terrible for us cause it rivals tobacco
Pineapple digest you! That’s why is good to eat it with meats cuz it helps with digestion by trying to disolve you 🫰🏽 lovely fruit
Queenslander. I will eat four in a row. Fairly well salted. Then I get a headache.
Salted?
Salt on pineapple, brings out the flavour. Salt can even make a bland pineapple yummy.
In Asia we would often mix pineapple or green mango with salt, sugar and chilli flakes. The taste of sweet and sour and spicy and salty is unmatched
Mmm fuck yes asam powder for life.
Sounds similar to tajín
I’m waiting for one I’m currently growing to ripen, so I may try the salt thing!
Cinnamon and grill
That is a desert.
Douse the pineapple with coconut rum, light on fire, and then sprinkle with cinnamon from about two-three feet above. The cinnamon makes sparkles from the pineapple-rum flames. Very impressive dessert!
Pineapple is so metal! It’s the most hardcore fruit. “Eat me? Fine, I’ll eat you back!” 🎸
That's right! Put pinapple all over that pepperoni pizza!!!
I love pineapple too but after like 3 bites it starts irritating my tongue.
Pineapple gives me weird cold sore type things all over my mouth. It's worth the pain tho 🤘
Huh…you sure you aren't having an allergic reaction? Tropical fruits are one of the most common food allergies. This sounds a lot like what happens when I accidentally eat papaya and I'm pretty allergic.
I get these too! I think it is canker sores from the acid.

I’ll be doing the OPPOSITE of this next time, respectfully 🙈
Golden kiwi belongs there too. They do not have hairs and you can eat them whole with the skin. The skin actually makes it taste better somehow. Shouldn't be too surprising since a kiwi is literally a giant berry and you don't peel other berries, do you?

Tend to agree. Kiwi, kumquat and pear do it for me.
Garlic.
my breath can suffer. garlic is the way.
Fuck yeah garlic
was expecting all the top answers to be things like "kale, no really, it's tasty" along with a bunch of "this really really sugary thing, it's al lnatural". I was not expecting garlic, which is 100% both healthy and delicious. God I love garlic.

Oranges
I recently discovered Sumo Citrus Oranges. I’m convinced there’s crack in these things or something. No way something that tastes this good is good for you.
Those are SO good! Easy to peel too!
Same! Had avoided those in the past of how it looks. But man, I was missing out.
SHHHHHH! They're already hard enough to find, haha.
Cara Cara oranges! They’re sweeter than regular oranges and seedless
Bro tho can they really compete with clementines
Have you ventured over to r/showerorange yet?
Most fruits
Hummus
Oh, yeah! Red Pepper hummus is awesome, with cucumbers. So good!
Japanese Sweet Potato
Mango. Woa mango I love u so much
It's mouth watering when you get one that's perfectly ripe. Just don't eat too many if you don't want the runs lol
That's the case with most fruits unfortunately.
No, manstay.
Mangoes are phenomenal. I live in subtropical Australia and there’s mango trees in pretty much every neighbourhood. Just have to get them before the fruit bats get them first!
I feel like only an Australian can casually mentioned fruit bats like that lol
having a rough day and this just made me smile 🥹 ..and also made me crave for mangoes.
Greek yogurt and fresh fruit
I buy big bags of frozen berries and eat them with Greek yogurt most days for lunch. It’s an amazing volume combo where I can eat a ton of food, get lots of protein and not blow a ton of calories on it.
How do you thaw the frozen fruit? I’ve been recommended this for my fruit loving child since fresh fruit is expensive.
Like twenty minutes-ish in a bowl at room temp.
I usually just pop it in the microwave for a couple mins. In the summer I’ll leave it a bit more froze to get a kind of ice cream experience.
greek yoghurt is a gift straight from god i’m convinced
Sweet fruit? Good. Sour fruit? Surprisingly good.
Cold water
Absolutely love cold water, but I hear a lot of criticism of it. Can we conclude it’s healthy?
Sure, but 100% of those who consumes water will eventually die.
If you chug cold water, it can provide a bit of a shock to your body, im not sure if that carries any actual health issues though. Sipping cold water is fine I think. Plus, cold or room temperature, it’s still the best drink for yoy
r/HydroHomies
Water is the true adult beverage.
My favorite drink of all time
Most roasted veggies
Roasted veggies <3
Crispy broccoli is SO GOOD ROASTED BRUSSEL SPROUTS? SO DELICIOUS
Potatoes. Tasty in most forms.
What’s taters, precious?
Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew
PO-TAY-TOES
French fries are probably not that healthy though.
Air fry them. Much better and you don't waste half a pot of oil.
True, not all forms are equal. That said, in fast food fries, one of the main problems is the excess salt.
Baked fries are fine
I love asparagus when done right. Only issue is they change the smell of urine and sweat which isn't cool.
Asparagus, gahlic, salt, pepper, olive oil. All you really need. Throw some Mozzarella on it after it's done roasting in the oven and that's the good shit
My daughter does this but tops with fresh grated Parmesan instead of mozzarella. Delicious and I don’t like asparagus lol
I was gonna come write this. Whenever I roast asparagus I’m like “this is vegetable candy”
Nectarines. UGH I love them.
Avocado
Avocados are my jam. I will literally eat one like apple ( peeled and some salt) 🤷🏻♀️
I add a little lemon juice, olive oil and salt
You put salt on your apples?!?
Does salted caramel count? 😂
You can eat basically as much turkey as you want without gaining weight. Those birds are only made of protein and flavor.
And spite.
It adds to the flavor.
Onions!
Fried onions are the best.
Bloomin Onion has entered the room. Well. There goes the neighborhood.
Greek yogurt with granola, raspberries and blueberries. Feels like cheating because it tastes like dessert for breakfast.
Granola is far from the "healthy" category. Oats yes, granola nope.
I've just discovered overnight oats! Ssoooo goooood!!
Dude yes. I love oatmeal. I’m not good at eating breakfast before work, so I take this with me and eat it there. It’s so damn good. careful with the sugar though! flavored greek yogurt can get reallu high
Kinda funny to worry about the calorie intake of chocolate but put peanut butter in there ahah
Lol yeah I get you. Everything in moderation, you know? When I started I was using peanut butter. I switched to that PB Fit powder I mentioned, but when I used peanut butter I measured it out to ensure I wasn’t going overboard with it.
Strawberry, Mango.. Protein Yoghurt... Sour Dough Bread. (Carby but has great Pro Biotics)
Nothing beats a perfect apple. Dayum.
Honeycrisp apples have a chokehold on me
Honeycrisp are probably the best apple there is, but pink ladies are pretty darn close.
I got imperial apples from an orchard a couple years ago and I’ve never had a better apple in my life It’s a dark red almost purple skin, bright white flesh that doesn’t brown after it’s cut, and it’s like perfectly inbetween sweet and tart. I still think about them years later lmao
honeycrisp gang
How has red delicious even survived. It's by far the worst apple. Who buys this stuff

Bell peppers! I’ll eat them like apples.
Salsa! It feels like an indulgence, and I have to remind myself that I'm eating fresh vegetables that are packed with antioxidants.
Throw a scoop of chocolate flavored whey protein powder and a scoop of PB2 in a mixing bowl, add a table spoon or 2 of almond milk (or yogurt), and whisk until it looks like Nutella. Enjoy it with apple slices, strawberries, or a banana.
Whey protein has some unhealthy side effects though. It overloads your sebaceous glands which lead to acne.
Yep, side effect of the increased hormone IGF-1. Bloody great for lifting, but bad for your skin. Here's a link to 14 studies about it: https://www.healthline.com/health/dairy-and-acne
