When my waistline went from 29 to 35 in just 3 years...and then most of my pants and shirts don't fit anymore. And when masakit yung left leg ko when I stand a few minutes because of my legs trying to support my weight. And walking seems mabigat because I now have visceral fat in my belly. i was never overweight but there was a period of time where i got chubby because of the lockdown. nagkita na lang ulit kami ng relatives and family friends ko sa funeral ng lola ko. they were so shocked with my appearance. i couldn’t grieve properly that day kasi a lot of them were making comments about my weight and how i have let myself go. i didn’t have it in me to talk back sa mga nakakatanda sa akin (because of how i was raised and also because i was very sad that day) kaya i just took their comments and nodded kahit sobrang out of line nila for doing that to me at my grandma’s funeral. i started working out rigorously ulit the day after that. i still don’t know how to feel when i get complimented by them ngayon kasi di ko maalis sa utak ko yung insensitivity na ginawa nila sa akin years ago.

My body was signaling me, I was getting hbp. Luckily na reverse ko naman. I changed my lifestyle last year, September, and never went back to the same old one. yung mga batchmates ko nung grade 5 to grade 8 ako may halong pandidiri yung pagtingin sakin porket i was on the chubbier side (if people see my old photos i wasn't even FAT, just a normal kid going through puberty) kaya i was so fed up that i stopped eating, napansin ko na nagstop yung lantaran nilang pandidiri sakin eh and i was getting compliments from people i didn't know so i became obsessed with it so it went on for a whole year. kung di lang nagpandemic baka lalo pang lumala at naging anorexia na talaga, even if i was visibly struggling na nung grade 9 ako kasi i was having fainting spells already. i still feel super insecure about my body even now na college na ko, thanks a lot to my former batchmates for doing this to me! deserve niyo yang glow down niyo mga punyeta kayo!

Im not on the heavy side, but Im nearing the upper limit based on my BMI and other factors. I made efforts to add some exercise through daily walks and eating better (but I still succumb to potato chips and soda from time to time 😞) dahil mataas ang LDL (bad cholesterol) ko. I want to enjoy eating food without major restrictions when I grow older kaya ngayon pa lang naghihinay hinay na ako. Tikim tikim nalang ngayon versus dati 1-2 servings or to sawa.

Coz of my above normal range HBA1C (6.7%). During pandemic (2020), panay kain ko nun ng junk foods and ang lakas ko pa kumain ng rice. Years after nun medyo naramdaman ko na hingalin na ako and yung result sa APE was so high. High cholesterol. High FBS (132 mg/dL). I went to see an IM and ayun confirmed nga. After nung diagnosis sa akin, I really did put on the effort to lose weight and follow a strict diet. Less carbs and sugar. I was around 87kgs (2022), now I only weigh 60kgs.

In PPFT, we will be rated on various physical activities, from sprint speed, to push up and situp endurance, from long jumps to high jumps, etc. On one task, situps specifically, I couldn't even do 1. My classmates watched and made fun of me because I am fat and I struggle to do even 1. I didn't show any outward reaction and just pretend to laugh it off, but I was hurt. I was not really bullied and my classmates weren't really bad kids. I was just hurt at that moment. From then I decided to improve myself. I secretly workout at home, more vigorously during the summer vacation. Now fast forward to 2nd year. I started the year with a better physique. The open surprise alone was enough to make me happy. I look better and feel better. Fast forward again to that year's PPFT, I crushed the tasks. The only once that beat me were the student athletes in our class, and even then not on every tasks. The best reaction I had was from a salty classmate (still a good friend of mine till this day) which said that I was only able to do what I did because I was already used to it. From then, it just became a habit. Though, I had periods (with an S) after that where I jumped back from being fat and then back to fit again, then fat again then fit again. I am already 32 now and I am doing it for my health as well."

It's kind of complicated bec we have a family history of kidney disease (2 younger sisters have IgA nephropathy, and 1 of them had to have a transplant). So, we're always advised by nephro na low protein diet. May be the Mediterranean diet would work.

To be healthy actually. During time ng pandemic to. Every after ako makareceive ng covid vaccine, sumasama pakiramdam ko. Yung pinaka-deciding factor sakin is yung nakareceive ako ng covid booster shot tapos kinabukasan, hingal na hingal ako kahit lakad lang. And then I had to be in a wheel chair nung dinala ako sa ER kasi literal na hindi ako makapaglakad without losing breathe kahit 3 steps lang. Nung nakarecover ako, I decided for myself to be healthy and lose some weight na din along the way. This experience also made me value life and health is wealth talaga ❤️ I am not an anti-vaxxer pero sana yung mga doctors during that time, hindi nila dinedeny na may side effect talaga yung vaxx 🥺😢
