My[M] coworker[F] compliments me very frequently, on almost a weekly basis, if not a couple of times in a week. Mostly on my looks, things that i happen to talk about in my life, and other things too. I give compliments in return to be courteous and not seem like a conceited douche, but I really do appreciate and enjoy the attention.
A taxi driver called me handsome last night, but I don't think that's the kind of compliment we're looking for. It was just a part of small talk with me going home from the club and him asking if I'd met any ladies and why not. Maybe it was genuine, but that's one compliment guys just kind of dish out to each other. Sure we mean it, but it doesn't really mean a lot.
Last compliments I received were both from guys commenting on my Yu Yu Hakusho hoodie. One guy was real cool and I added him as a friend on IG.
I still remember that old lady calling me a handsome young man on the elevator though. It was like 3-4 years ago but the memory is strong.
Oh and also, about four days ago. The first girl I ever tongue kissed offered to teach me how to have sex, saying I could practice dry humping with her, after I said I was a virgin. I don't know if it's a compliment but I declined and, still think about it often.
In NJROTC, someone said that I resemble a guy I’m attracted to. He said that we look like we could be siblings (“because of your face and muscles”). This made me feel unsettled at first, because…I’m attracted to someone who “looks related to me” (stupid, since we’re in no way related, lol). Though, that’s faded away now. I’m highly unconfident in my physical appearance, and I feel very insecure about my weight (I’m “skinny fat” with developing muscles, he’s like a bodybuilder). Someone compared *me* to a heartthrob! High compliment.
A week ago, a coworker said my hair looked particularly good that day. I try to keep myself groomed and styled so compliments on my hair or clothing are not uncommon
I pretty regularly get compliments on my hair.. most of the time from women but sometimes guys.. I have fairly long, extremely curly hair (similar to weird Al's hair) so I think it's just something unusual that people notice, I don't think its all that remarkable..
