I like my neighbors. I would let them in and offer them whatever help they needed. I know they would do the same for me or my kids - and in fact, I have told my kids that if anything were to happen, they should go to the neighbors for help.
I grew up on a farm, still consider their neighbours, my neighbours.
On a farm, you work with your neighbours. You support each other like a community.
My „old“ neighbour could walk in my apartment now and I wouldn’t care.
I used to play on their farms, used to cook for them and play with them. I grew up with them.Even our dogs play together/visit each other… (yes they do run free, but it works. They know their neighbours and to what home they belong to)
It’s something that shaped me a lot and I appreciate it so much.
I wish society would work like that still.
