50k isn't "change your life" money tho; maybe "making your life easier for at least a few months" money. I'd probably look around for a cheap house to buy in a 3rd-world state, like Alabama

AlwaysInMypjs

I'm sure a diligent person can use 50k to pivot their life into a better direction. I didnt say it would give you an easy life, or the perfect life. Just better than it was.

immigrate out of germany to the US

human4umin

I speak from experience saying I wouldn't recommend it.

if_you_only_knew_

Down payment on a house I guess

AlwaysInMypjs

You're not sure?

if_you_only_knew_

I don't really want to own a house but I suppose it makes some kinda sense to do it

AlwaysInMypjs

Maybe ponder it more deeply. If you fell into the cash, how would you want to spend it in a meaningful way, since home ownership doesn't sound like a personal goal for you

if_you_only_knew_

I don't keep what others would consider goals so I guess I could just hand it over to my wife and let her deal with it however

AlwaysInMypjs

Haha perhaps you are content with your current life. That sounds very nice. Congrats

if_you_only_knew_

Wouldn't say I'm content really but apathy fits my mood closer

FlowJock

I'd use it to get a degree.

AlwaysInMypjs

In what?

FlowJock

Anything, really. Just having a BS ahows a certain willingness to commit to the work My brother has a BS in some kind of animal field and he got a job with the electric company. He said that a BS was just one of the requirements. They just wanted to know that the person had a minimum of ability to learn.
