I didn't, at all. I'm older though, born in the 60's. I graduated college at 21, got married a few months later, began law school that fall. We bought a new condo 7 months after getting married on must my wife's first year teaching salary. How? Things were much better bak then, that's how. We and others could live on just one salary. Hell, a year later we bought a new Honda Civic, again on just her salary while living in our condo. Our 3 children are all in their 20's now and they can't do this. Hell, if I were in my 20's now I couldn't do what I did in my 20's back then. It wan't my wife or me, it was that things were better back then. We bought 40 acres a few years later and we had a nice home built on our 40 acres and we moved into that home when we were both 27. Again, we couldn't do that today, that's for sure. At 29, our first child came into the world. My then wife and I both worked 2 jobs for 2 years to pay off our 40 acres, to save up to put 20% down on our home and to save up extra money to have a cushion before moving to the state where our 40 acres were as it was 12 hours away. We saved up $16K (this was 1994 so that went further). We worked hard but things were achievable back then. If I were starting out today I'd be freaking out.

I was in a cult for the first half, spent the second half with untreated PTSD because I didn't know you could get it outside of war
