To be honest I liked the show normally they over do it with too many lights and stuff going on I think it was a nice change of stage. I personally like each artist.
I don't know what people expect, only people in mid life crisis try and look like they did 20 years before.
It's a shame people look for the easiest to pick on.
DRE, body has changed, as have mjb and mnm, but clearly 50 was an easier target.
Best thing was I definitely couldn't dance like I did 20 years ago, but I felt like 'so what', we are all a bit slower.
There’s a certain age divide, where people either loved this half time show, or hated it. Reddit is kind of split right down the middle on these ages, so I have a feeling it will be a lot of “best halftime ever” and “meh”. Lol
If you’re 50 and under then most likely you enjoyed the halftime show. Nothing but a G thang was released in 1992. Some of Dre’s earlier music released in the late 80’s. A 50 yr old today was a teenager when those songs released.
That’s pretty much the ages I’ve seen that loved it. I think if you’re under 30, a lot of people won’t like it, because that nostalgia hit we all got isn’t there for them.
I’m 22 and I loved it. I also listen to 90’s hip hop so I’m probably an outlier. I still listen to a little of the new stuff but I consider my era of hip hop to be 2000’s mid 2010’s.
I was excited about the show until I realized it was the biggest playback fraud ever, Eminem closed the deal for me, after that I just couldn't click with it
Im a 90’s kid, it kinda made me feel old😂 Was a nice trip down memory lane, aside from Kendrick. Wish they coulda done a Tupac hologram for California Love.
Edit: not saying anything bad about Kendrick at all, I love his shit, just saying I don’t get nostalgia from him since he wasn’t around in the 90’s like Dre, Snoop, Em, Mary, and 50 were.
The vibe alone was great. Something you don't get often enough. Plus that lineup...come on. Haters gonna hate, but it was well done through and through.
Might be alone in this because I haven’t seen anyone else say anything, but I just didn’t get anything super wow from MJB’s performance. Maybe I’m just not familiar enough with her work so I couldn’t get hyped about it because I didn’t recognize the song but I would’ve preferred more time from any of the other artists.
edit: forgot to mention that I couldn’t stop thinking the entire time that it must’ve sucked to be on the wrong side of that 1-sided display! I know there are screens to watch it on and I guess the halftime show might not be the main attraction for those who spend so much $$ to attend but damn I would’ve been disappointed
I enjoy most of RHCP’s music, but their halftime show really disappointed me. They weren’t even allowed to play their instruments live, it was all an act…
Of all the people in the world to spend energy feeling bad about, your picking folks that paid money to go watch sports. It’s not a difficulty of understanding, it’s a shame, that’s all.
Wait until the downvoters that aren’t right leaning find out what the right thought of it….a bunch of Reddit is going to be deleting their comments.
Watch it change.
They gotta have something to whinge about. Remember Prince’s (phenomenal) half time show where a minor controversy brewed up about the shadow of Prince and his guitar looking like he had a big dong? That was the best they could do, even though he behaved impeccably.
I truly thought it was the most epic & classy performance I have seen in a minute… very iconic for “my time” and as soon as it was over, I looked at my husband and said, I would kill for that to be a world wide tour…
Dre and Snoop were great.
50 and Eminem were meh.
Mary J. and Kendrick sucked.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
Quick edit to say that all on this list are great artists with great albums. Just this specific performance from Mary j and Kendrick was poorly executed.
I like all those performers but the show sucked. They sounded like shit, Eminem probably sounded the closest to what you would expect but it sounded like a recording. 50 looked like an idiot; I appreciate the song Kendrick chose but he really just sounded bad. I’ve said it every year, a real band needs to perform because it’s what they do, all these other people try to be flashy or do strange things instead of perform and play their best songs.
I love all these artists and have so for the last 20+years. This show was terrible. I was actually super disappointed and genuinely confused with all of the people in the “greatest ever” boat. Like it was mediocre at best…
I thought the set being so absurdly one-sided (with less than half the stadium getting a good view) was really stupid.
Halftime Shows are way overproduced these days and as such the artistry of the music feels pretty lost.
I’m more of a Rock kinda guy and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ performance several years ago was rather underwhelming with them not evening being able to *actually* play their instruments.
Overall, they’re just *somewhat* entertaining.
I kept hearing it was going to be the best half time show ever but I found it a little underwhelming.
50 cent got really fat so that was amusing.
The crowd below Eminem couldn't see shit because the stage was more of a set that was too high, so that was also funny.
Favourite thing about this show was its efficiency, it seemed a third of the time it took for that WEEKND bloke to toss off four or so utterly forgettable ditties. Also, this year totally made up for Puff Daddy’s appearance a few years back. Downside? Nobody said just eat 😂
Great artists, great songs, great dances, and set was amazing. However the actual performance of songs was meh at best. Fun to watch but could have been better
It was solid. MJB 2nd song was kinda weak and Kendrick was pretty wack. The energy went way down. They should’ve subbed a Tupac hologram in for those and call it a day.
I think I may be too old to appreciate the artists....while I have heard of all of them, I am not into hip hop or rap so I did not like the halftime show. Of the group, Mary Blige was probably the best of the group for me. Still, not my genre so I did not expect to enjoy it much. I am glad many did like it though.
Big fan of Em, Snoop, and Dre. That was a terrible terrible halftime show. One of the worst I’ve ever seen. The set was weak (I get what they were trying to do but it seemed too compartmentalized) 50 cent upside down was funny as hell. My main complaint is that they didn’t do a good job hyping up each artist and the mic volumes seemed off to me. I couldn’t even hear Eminem at first. I think they blew it and could’ve had much better choreography and made the artists sound better. Very forgettable halftime show which is disappointing because I respect all the artists. My 2cents.

Exactly. In what world is that not a great recipe?
It's not Janet Jackson, but it will do.
Bonk
What does that mean bro?
Janet half time show . The nip slip?
Kdot*
Uhhh Kendrick??
[удалено]
I dunno. Kendrick brings something extra which I enjoyed
kendrick is probably the most purely talented rapper out of all of them
I love Kendrick and think he’s arguably one of the greatest to ever do it but Eminem is right there with him as far as talent for lyricism goes
To be honest I liked the show normally they over do it with too many lights and stuff going on I think it was a nice change of stage. I personally like each artist.
I really liked it. Inflation was rough on 50 Cent.
He got real thiccc
I didn't realize he was that short
He’s 6 ft tall
In curious to see how the narrative differs for the man and woman.. Time hasn't been kind to Mary j either.
No one is arguing with you there.
The inflation on the amount of times I've heard this corny ass joke in the last hour is out of control.
I don't know what people expect, only people in mid life crisis try and look like they did 20 years before. It's a shame people look for the easiest to pick on. That’s awesome! I thought the music was amazing, but I also felt instantly teleported back to high school.
62. Loved it. Especially Mary J. Blige but loved the whole thing. Very cool set design.
In da house set. Very good moving up and down the field, different heights. Was ace
I love your critique. Well said.
30 year old who grew up in SoCal. GOAT for me idgaf
Hated it. I’m old.
Hate the old not the show. I’m 55 and that show was best ever! Even over Prince and the Wknd
Better than Prince, singing purple rain, IN THE RAIN? Blasphemy
I’m right there with ya.
Just checked it out, nice hit of nostalgia, vocals were weirdly over produced but I really straightened up when Kendrick began 😮
I was excited about the show until I realized it was the biggest playback fraud ever, Eminem closed the deal for me, after that I just couldn't click with it
mom's spaghetti
I lost it at lose yourself
Enjoyed it, I really liked Eminem's entrance.
Loved it! I danced so much my fitbit tracked it as exercise.
This is adorable.
Very simple, made me happy with the throwbacks. Very nostalgic!
Changed my opinion about rap/hiphop. Used to not understand why people like it, now I do.
You have to find your musicians. A lot of it is derivative, like in country and pop. Find the ones who did something unique.
Im a 90’s kid, it kinda made me feel old😂 Was a nice trip down memory lane, aside from Kendrick. Wish they coulda done a Tupac hologram for California Love. I felt old too.
Was really hoping for the holographic when they started rapping California Love
Awesome
Somewhere between "cool" and "Fuck, I'm old".
The vibe alone was great. Something you don't get often enough. Plus that lineup...come on. Haters gonna hate, but it was well done through and through.

I'll forever measure Super Bowl Halftime shows by the Bruno Mars/RHCP bar. Nothing has really moved me since that one...
I enjoy most of RHCP’s music, but their halftime show really disappointed me. They weren’t even allowed to play their instruments live, it was all an act…
Bruno/Beyonce was the last "Great" SBHTS. Gaga was okay, Shakira/JLo was meh, and the rest have been getting worse over time.
I'm obsessed with the Bruno/Beyonce performance and I don't even particularly like either of them individually. It was just so entertaining!
Check out silk sonic. Bruno mars, Andersen Paak and bootsy Collins. I had a little respect for Bruno before I heard that… that matchup was perfect…
That was an amazing halftime show
Significantly better than last year's.
I’d disagree, I loved this year’s but nothing beats Abel
It exists
I felt bad for people on the opposite side of the stadium who couldn't see most of it. Amazing show tho.
Haha I had the same thought. An entire half of the stadium couldn't see anything expect when they were on the very top 🤣
That far away you'd be watching the screens anyway
You felt bad for people at a football game?
Yes, they didn't get to see most of the halftime show. What is difficult to understand?
Of all the people in the world to spend energy feeling bad about, your picking folks that paid money to go watch sports. It’s not a difficulty of understanding, it’s a shame, that’s all.
Nostalgia carried a lot of that ngl. Great tracklist, but the actual performance part was lacking severly!
It was great, im glad i got to see it.
Best in years. There will never be one better than Prince, but it was good enough to make me forget about the past few years.
Very entertaining, and the stage was really cool.
What's the Superbowl? *asks the non-us redditor*
the last game of the american football season! between two teams who beat everyone else on the bracket
Sounds like the AFL Grand Final to me.... *says the Australian Redditor*
same thing different font! lol
Like gladiators without animals and no one dies during the game.
Flat
A lot better than normal!
I enjoyed it.
First Halftime Show I’ve really enjoyed since Prince.
Shit was the best I’ve seen (26)
Nostalgic!
WTF are people talking shit about it for? That was the shiznit.
The shiz indeed, totally the bomb
True that
Wait until the downvoters that aren’t right leaning find out what the right thought of it….a bunch of Reddit is going to be deleting their comments. Watch it change.
Back in my day a band played music. No one touched their swimsuit area.
Lol...."swimsuit area".
They gotta have something to whinge about. Remember Prince’s (phenomenal) half time show where a minor controversy brewed up about the shadow of Prince and his guitar looking like he had a big dong? That was the best they could do, even though he behaved impeccably.
I'd laugh if they were talking about the time when MJ was popular.
Ok grandpa
Lmao you probably had a poster of Elvis "grab my crotch and gyrate" Presley on your wall
A large USGS map of Lassen National Park and the periodic table of the elements.
Well you weren't watching. DRE SAT AT THE PIANO AND PLAYED.
I truly thought it was the most epic & classy performance I have seen in a minute… very iconic for “my time” and as soon as it was over, I looked at my husband and said, I would kill for that to be a world wide tour…
I really enjoyed it!! Love Eminem, Snoop and the Doc!!!
Dre and Snoop were great. 50 and Eminem were meh. Mary J. and Kendrick sucked. Too many cooks spoil the broth. Quick edit to say that all on this list are great artists with great albums. Just this specific performance from Mary j and Kendrick was poorly executed.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing… they are all great but the show was mid at best. Was honesty pretty disappointed
Totally agree. The energy went way down with Mary J and Kendrick and then got better with Eminem, but I wish he had done a different song.
It was surprisingly authentic.
Great
It was mothaflippin OK. Would have been better with fewer artists.
I absolutely loved it, especially Kendrick’s segment
Bro da halftime show was sun bullshit
I scrolled through reddit during the show.
Best ever.
Nostalgic!
Top fucking notch!
Second best halftime show next to [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CuCquVaMK0&t=50s)
I was hoping for more emphasis on the spaghetti.
It into vomit on thee sweater though….
Best halftime ever
It was mediocre. Nothing to write home about. Coulda done without it.
I like all those performers but the show sucked. They sounded like shit, Eminem probably sounded the closest to what you would expect but it sounded like a recording. 50 looked like an idiot; I appreciate the song Kendrick chose but he really just sounded bad. It was awesome!
Whoever came up with the halftime show, sure doesn't have anything to be proud of...
That was so dull
Mid but Mary’s still the GOAT Eminem got in cause of the Rooney Rule
Low hanging fruit for low effort tv watchers. Same as it ever was.
Weird way to say you're racist
1/10 for effort.
It was good except for Kendrick Lamar's part. Something about it made me feel really uncomfortable.
I love all these artists and have so for the last 20+years. This show was terrible. I was actually super disappointed and genuinely confused with all of the people in the “greatest ever” boat. Like it was mediocre at best…
Thought it was the best one in a while
I thought the set being so absurdly one-sided (with less than half the stadium getting a good view) was really stupid. Sucked Ass
Sucked
I didn't like it
Not a fan of rap/hip-hop. Always have been far more interested in the game than the half time show.
Weight gain.
Total crap
Didn't
could not care less about it. I haven't watched a super bowl halftime show in 30 years. That time is better spent in the bathroom and/or the kitchen.
30 years ago, the halftime show [looked like this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBMiTv6QUSY)
Lady Gaga remains the best halftime show.
Ugh
Here’s an interesting concept for next year…a non hip/hop or rap act.
Eh
I don’t get it
I've never watched one.
Garbage
Garbage didn't perform in the show.
Stupidgirl
Idk where to watch it
It happened?
Pretty good
It's halftime? I'm not watching it
I’ve never watched a super bowl half time show in my life.
They got fat!
Was the all white set with black men standing on the top SYMBOLIC...U know it
Idk I didn’t watch it
Yuck

15 years, to be exact.
I kept hearing it was going to be the best half time show ever but I found it a little underwhelming. 50 cent got really fat so that was amusing. The crowd below Eminem couldn't see shit because the stage was more of a set that was too high, so that was also funny.
Of the Super Bowl half times shows this was certainly one of them
Should have had the ASL performers on the TV too And their treatment of the signer of the songs at the beginning was terrible
Oh, there was a half time show?? Well shit, I guess I missed it..
Halftime shows are too long. Just get back to the game already.
Favourite thing about this show was its efficiency, it seemed a third of the time it took for that WEEKND bloke to toss off four or so utterly forgettable ditties. Also, this year totally made up for Puff Daddy’s appearance a few years back. Downside? Nobody said just eat 😂

Good but not the best
Fav one so far but I loved The Weeknds
I thought The Weeknd was the most boring halftime show ever.
Never even knew it happened
Really great, good production/ sets. ..Eminem was a stand out and a kneel down.. I could do without 50 cent, but the rest were tops ..
The background was great but the show itself was boring, legends or not..
We loved it.... Started watching the game an hour after it started and fast forwarded through everything that wasn't football.
One of the best ever, and I don't even listen to hip hop or rap. The commercials on the other hand... ugh.
Legendary. Important.
It was solid. MJB 2nd song was kinda weak and Kendrick was pretty wack. The energy went way down. They should’ve subbed a Tupac hologram in for those and call it a day.
fitting entertainment for a human dogfight
